We are a young family of four living in Golden Bay, New Zealand. We are very close to Takaka town centre 4 min drive or 8 minute cycle. We are central to all the beauty that the bay holds, hiking in the Abel Tas, farewell spit, pupu springs, etc etc. Golden Bay has an adventure for every day of the year!

Our land, despite being close to town feels very rural and private, we have a large garden, fruit trees and chickens. We have a 6 year old and a 2 year old. Both boys. Paul is kiwi and into kitesurfing and mountain biking and Emma is from London, into yoga and dance.

We have two house buses each with their own kitchen for single travelers or couples.

We are currently looking for those that can trade their hard work for the bus accommodation and food. We are looking for someone or a couple that are keen to stay a week or two and support us on our land.

We prefer having easy-going people around that are willing to work hard at anything and We also need people to be ab... more inside

"Together we can co-create the world we want to live in"

A beautiful large lush bush property nestled in the foothills of Kahurangi National Park, next to a 4 day hiking trail,15 min out of town. This is an opportunity to experience living an alternative sustainable life style in the bush, off the grid, close to the land. A peaceful place where people can connect more deeply with nature, and drop out from the fast paced life and be more present with themselves and each other. Have various projects on the go depending on peoples skills and passions which involve bush craft and simple building skills. Plus caring for the land as guardians....looking after the native tree seedlings that are growing in the forest etc and there is always plenty to do in my permaculture garden :)

I live a simple life..growing food, meditating and doing yoga.

If you would like to stay in a peaceful place and experience life in the bush and if you enjoy helping out and creating then please c... more inside

This is an intentional community started in 1974, with approx 20 adults and 5 children. It is set up as a village with families having their own homes and gardens, and a central community meeting house which includes 3 bedrooms for visitors. The common land is farmed with mostly beef cows, and some goats and horses.
Work includes gardening, general farm work, house maintenance, tree pruning and weed eradication. Because of the community set up we do not offer a full exchange service. Helpers stay in the community house and need to do 20 hours work each week to cover your accommodation and some food. The hours are usually done over 5 days so you can have 2 days off! The basic food-stuff is provided, such as rice, oats, lentils, flour, sugar, tea, coffee, salt n pepper and usually there is some garden produce. Organic eggs are available for $6 per dozen. You need to bring your own cheese, meat, bread if you don't want to bake your own etc

The minimum stay time is one week. ... more inside

We are a couple living on a lifestyle block in beautiful Golden Bay. We make solid timber furniture and other art works which we sell in our Gallery (Weka Arts). We offer good food and private(separate) accommodation. We have a sleep out,a house truck,a tree house, a boat . We have a good orchard and veggie garden and our chooks keep us in fresh eggs.
At this stage we are looking for strong helpers with some lifting ability and people who don't mind digging and working in our gardens. A couple would be ideal especially if one can cook to help Karen in the kitchen sometimes. We do not accept tobacco smokers.

We are Ngarie, Sam and Sofia who is 3 years old. We live 2.5kms out of Takaka near the climbing wall and know lots of lovely things to do in this area.
We are looking for help with cooking, cleaning, gardening, painting and childcare. We have a small BnB on the property that we may ask you to help with too.
Approximately 4 hours work a day in exchange for food and accommodation. Work is usually 9 til 12 and an hour in the evening helping with dinner and cleaning up, but timing can be flexible when needed.
We have had some helpers stay in their van, which is fine too.
Sam is a builder, tiler and musician, Ngarie loves dancing, tramping, works at Tui Balms and is involved with rites of passage events for teenagers and their families and womens gatherings.

We ask you to be easy going, efficient and take initiative in the smooth running of the household.
