Traditional Central Southland plains sheep farm, owned and operated by older couple, our children have left home. We have been involved in a high school student exchange programme for many years, and have hosted many students from around the world, and have really enjoyed this experience. We are now looking forward to meeting other young people who are interested in farming. We have about 1500 sheep, four horses, three working sheep dogs, plus a pet jack Russell terrier and a cat.
In early September we will start lambing, one of our busiest times of year, and October is tailing time plus cultivating for young grass and winter crops.

We also have a medium to large garden, flowers and vegetables, which we would appreciate some help with. Situated 17 kilometers from small town of Winton, and one and half to two hours driving from beautiful Fiordland and Queenstown lakes as well as The Caitlins.

Meals supplied with our family, with a shared bathroom. Looking forward to meeting ... more inside

Hello,
We are a family of five with three young children centrally located near Gore, approx an hour from Invercargill, an hour and a half from Dunedin and an hour or so to Queenstown.
We are looking for someone to help on our 750 acre sheep and beef farm and sometimes help with some domestic chores. No experience is necessary but an interest in animals/farming would be great! A good grasp of English is essential. Because it's a rural area, having your own transport would be helpful. However, we're happy to pick up/drop off at the Gore bus stop. Minimum stay is one week.
Accommodation is a self contained house.

US:
Hey we are a young couple who love to travel and have been on working holidays in Europe / UK and Australia.
We loved the people and places we got to go to and think that working exposed us to far more of the culture than just passing through.. and we pretty much just donít want it to end!

THE AREA:
We live in a stunning area of the Catlins, which is a very popular tourist area known for its waterfalls, beaches, penguins (seasonal) and dolphins which you can swim with. The farm is a real working farm but it is also beautiful and peaceful, with great views of all those green rolling hills NZ is famous for!

HELP NEEDED:
Itís a super exciting time on the farm with the majority of the lambs being born from September 1, and calves from mid August. The farm produces sheep and beef, and we mostly grow all of our own veggies so we would love your help with planting / setting that up to start growing again.
To be fair itís always different and we try to adapt the work to b... more inside

Hi!

We are a family of 3 with a home-based business looking for some help over the summer period.

We often get called away for work in the evenings/weekends and need someone here with our 3-year-old boy. He is a great natured boy, loves being outside riding his bike and going on adventures. Our son goes to preschool 40 hours a week, so, most days you may not have to care for him much at all, on these days there is cleaning and household chores to get done - it all depends on what happens when the phone rings!

We might need help to cook, do cleaning or help in general with the house chores. Our current helper cleans/ mows lawns /weeds gardens for about an hour or two a day (sometimes more) and does some extra babysitting.

We offer you a large room in central Te Anau including power (not excessive amounts) and wifi. We can include evening meals for extra work if you like.

We are open to discussing couples applications.

You would probably also be able to get another... more inside

We live on a high country farm in Garston, Northern Southland (one hour south of Queenstown). The farm is currently leased to a sheep and beef farmer.

We have children, dogs and cats and a Tourism Business.

We require help around the farm, in the garden and with the business. Tasks might include gardening, painting, cleaning accommodation, cutting wood, weed control.

Our location is quite remote with the nearest convenience store 10kms away. There is a pub in Garston. The nearest townships to Garston are Athol and Kingston both of which have cafťs. Hello and welcome,
We are a family owned dairy farm milking around 440 cows. There is also gardening and cheese packing to help with. We have teenagers at home. As we are also homeschoolers, there is always something happening. We try to maintain a holistic approach to farming but we are not organic. We are looking for singles or couples that can contribute to our busy farming household and can stay from one to several weeks. At the moment calf rearing is happening and plenty of opportunity to get lost in the garden. You will also help out in the milk bottling room and packing cheese. If that sounds like you, don`t hesitate to email us or text. We would love to accommodate you. Our Dairy is a very modern well equipped rotary with a water recycling and effluent minimisation system.
We are situated around an hour from Te Anau and Manapouri areas and also Invercargill. During the summer we like water activities, tramping and fishing all of which can be found close by. If you like m... more inside
