ABOUT US
We are a small hobby farm in a quiet bush setting between Bundaberg and Agnes Water. We moved here from Melbourne 11 years ago in search of a rural lifestyle and warmer weather. Everything here was built by us and it has kept us very busy. We occasionally raise pigs for meat and have had chickens, ducks and geese in the past.

There's 2 of us plus Max, our Maremma sheepdog. We both have a background in construction and have travelled extensively throughout Australia. We have a lot of hobbies and interests including cooking, gardening, furniture making, house construction, STEM and plenty more.

WHO WE WANT
We are looking for couples or one to two women to help with outdoor work such as improving the gardens, construction, general property maintenance and animal care. Some household chores may be required too. We are also interested in a cultural exchange and want helpers who are keen to socialise a bit during their time off.

WHAT WE OFFER
Short stays of up to 2 ... more inside

We live in a beautiful corner of Queensland, near the New South Wales border, in a scenic valley surrounded by mountains, with national parks and water falls nearby. We have a small cattle property (cows and calves) with two cottages rented out for short stays for guests. We are about 2 hours from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

We enjoy welcoming people from other cultures to our home. We have a close family and our helpers are like extended family to us. We have a lot of family activities which we like you to join in with. Most of the family is musical and we have a piano, keyboard and guitar which you are welcome to use.

We need occasional help with cattle (mustering, vaccinating etc) fencing, perhaps painting, gardening, cleaning cottages etc. We use quad bikes to muster our cattle and a tractor for other farm use. I can show you how to drive a tractor if you have never used one.

We will welcome you as family and hope you will join us in our family activities. We partic... more inside

Available: one week between 5th-12th March (or close to those dates). Staying in our home with us for this stay (not camping up at the cortex, unless you prefer more privacy and want to camp up there - it's lovely too!). We have an American already booked in for this time, so would be fine for another solo traveler or a couple or 2 friends to join us for this time so we can get some jobs done easily with extra helping hands. :-)

Do you want to live entirely off-grid surrounded by natural settings and lots of animals? The trade off is your help with our huge to-do list. :-) We'd like to do a horse fencing project sometime in February/March, so email us if you can come for a week to help us out.

No prior experience necessary, but enthusiasm to help us out is a must. Non-smokers only. Couples or two friends preferred over solo travelers, but motivated solo travelers will be considered.

In your free time, volunteers can go swimming, enjoy many of the hikes on and around our... more inside

Elli and Graham`s home is a 19th Century wooden cottage in semi-rural surroundings. It has lots of natural timber floors and walls with a fine collection of period furniture. We are 2 minutes from train station and 50 minutes by train or 35 minutes by car to centre of Brisbane and 1 hour drive to Gold Coast. There are lots of nice walks and a sandy beach nearby and we have bikes for you. Catch a ferry to nearby Stradbroke Island to see dolphins, rays and turtles. [And whales in winter] We are an energetic couple who love reading and the house is full of books. We have a sailboat and sometimes we can offer a day out sailing. We like sharing different cultures and we`re looking for people who are easygoing, nature lovers and non-smoking.We prefer one or two people for one to two weeks duration but we are flexible. Help needed now. Kadanji Cottage needs a travelling pair or a couple with own vehicle. We would also consider a solo traveller if you don`t mind working alone some days.
The property is just over two hectares (five acres) in tropical North Queensland near Kuranda, 45 minutes from Cairns, with one third dedicated to a beautiful tropical landscaped garden. The balance is natural bushland with a dam, native wildlife including wallabies, a huge range of bird life and frogs. There are also chickens, a veggie garden and a variety of tropical fruit trees.
My name is Jeanette and I really enjoy meeting interesting, easy going people who share my love of life, laughter and good food and discovering all the wonders of this tropical wonderland. While here as my guests you are treated as family and most stays are one to two weeks.
This self contained homestay is perfect for you if you love gardening, have an appreciation of nature and can help maintain this little piece of paradise. Your... more inside
