The 36 cottages in this former 1950s timber town now provide holiday accommodation. We have just recommenced taking in Help-Xers starting February 2017. Staying here provides a glimpse of the Australian way of life from the 1950`s.
The wildlife around the village is abundant and very tame - particularly the kangaroos, emus and parrots who may be fed by hand. There are also possums at night.
We are located in the Karri forest 30 minutes from Bridgetown or Manjimup (both have bus links to Perth) and offer magnificent forest walks and silent starry nights.
An enthusiastic small team operates the business. Accommodation is rustic, in old mill cottages with one common television in the village and limited mobile phone reception. Our accommodation for you may vary from a dormitory/bunkroom, staying in the manager`s house or one of our cottages. We`ll supply plenty of food to cook your own meals at your leisure, as well as 30 minutes of internet access a day. In return we as... more inside

We have a lovely property of 2.5 acres and we grow Christmas Trees
We do have a wonderful garden which requires tending all year round . But, mostly we need helpexers for maintenance around the place and for us to help the helpexers to acclimatise and to see how we , as Aussies live.

There will still be the usual cleaning up of a thousand leaves from the trees as the summer win ds here are very very strong.. I would like single people or even 2 guys or 2 girls .

I look forward to some hard working young people with initiative coming to stay with us. I enjoy cooking for our helpers and we enjoy nothing more than a good laugh and chat over a glass of wine during dinner
Until then ...enjoy life and I hope to see some strong young people on my door step soon

It is ESSENTIAL you have experience with horses. Please do NOT apply to come and stay with us if you are not familiar with handling horses.

We are a family of 4 who live on a property in the hills situated approximately 40 mins drive from Perth C.B.D. We have many horses. All are thoroughbreds and used for playing Polo.

At this time of year we need help (aprox. 4hrs daily) to help prepare the horses for the upcoming polo season. This includes yard maintenance, feeding horses, working with young horses and general farm tidy-up.

If you are a competent rider, it may be possible to go on bush rides where you will be able to see lots of native wildlife. We have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. This position would suit a well organised, neat, tidy person who can work with others in a team environment.

Accommodation is own room fully self-contained, bungalow style. We provide all your food, but some meals you will need to prepare yourself. There is a very comfortable lounge/... more inside

There are heaps of different jobs to do from weeding to painting, fencing and mowing. We are about to build strawbale house which should be a challenge!
