Hello, I have a hobby farm five minutes from the sea side twin towns of Dongara and Port Denison, which is 350klm north of Perth and 60 km south of Geraldton. Dongara is a quiet fishing/farming town and one of the best kept secrets on the west coast. On the farm I have a dog, chickens, ducks, horses, sheep, pigs, goats and a few cows.

I`m looking for people to help out around the farm with experience in house sitting, permaculture, gardening cooking and cleaning. In exchange I`ll provide meals and accommodation.

When not working there are many lovely spots in the local area to pass the time. With 180 acres of land there is plenty of space for quiet walks or a bicycle ride to town with the beach and the river close by,surfing, snorkelling, kayaking, kite surfing, swimming or fishing is possible.

The farmhouse is spacious with a cool covered veranda area with bbq, hammocks and comfortable chairs to relax in for the evenings.

If you would like to see a beau... more inside

Current Projects
We have some outdoor projects currently - the main one being planting grass runners to grow grass for the horses and setting up new vegetable patches (organically). Our indoor work is graphic design e.g. using Photoshop, Lightroom or other software that you are familiar with. This is to prepare photos for use in e-books.

General Information
We have a 5 acre horse property in the hills of Roleystone and have been hosting Help X members for many years now. We find it to be very rewarding and love the exchange of ideas, skills and culture.

Aside from the horses we have productive and ornamental gardens which we run along organic and permaculture guidelines. We also have turkeys, geese, ducks, chickens, two dogs and two cats.

Nearby is Banyowla National Park with many walk trails. Here you can enjoy great views to the city and see wildlife and wildflowers in season. Other attractions nearby include Araluen Botanic Park, Karakin and Armadale Wildlife Park... more inside

We have a very small farm stay with chooks, ducks, a busy kelpie dog, cat and 5 working pony party ponies. There is also my riding horse. We would be in need of people who love animals, open spaces and gardening. Our garden is very large.
Helpers should be able to speak and understand english use a chainsaw and be able to ride a motor bike and drive a car. You would have a room either with twin beds or a queen own bathroom etc. Meals and times of work can be negotiated on a individual bases. Both of us away from home on certain days so you have lots of privacy.
We live in the wonderful Ferguson Valley with lots of wineries and eateries. There is the Wellington Dam close Bunbury is 20 mins away and the community is amazingly welcoming. There is lots to see and do with lots of walking tracks and bike tracks. We have lots of other Helpx hosts around so have many like minded people around. We look forward to hearing from anyone

Taking bookings now for June now.
The baby kids have been born, 4 baby goats
Absolutely gorgeous.

At our farm, we try to live sustainably and minimise our impact on the earth. This means we grow a lot of our food, don't use poisons and eat seasonally.

As you'll notice if you come and visit, we try to repurpose, recycle and reuse as much as we can. We hate waste and the thought of perfectly serviceable items ending up in land fill!

We have always grown fruit and vegetables and have over 80 nut and fruit trees on the property. We have several bee hives, which help our fruit to pollinate and provide us with delicious honey. We also have many olive trees which we use for pickling and for oil.

We don't use poisons on our crops, which are irrigated using rainwater collected in our dam. Whilst we're not certified organic, we can't see the point of using poisons on food that we'll eat or allowing it to end up in our ground water.

We run our tractor on biodiesel, made from... more inside

* Places available from May 8

We are a fledgling small holding with big dreams and plans. Having built our home in the middle of old growth Karri forest, we now have many landscaping projects and on-going maintenance to attend to. Helpers who are both skilled or un-skilled are welcome.

We have three lovely children, lots of chickens and two dogs... so it's important that you like all varieties if you would like to stay with us.

Whilst we are in the middle of the forest, we are only an easy 3km walk from beautiful Denmark town. If you don`t have a car we can pick you up from town if you have caught the bus. Denmark is a thriving town with many natural highlights to offer visitors. Also close to Albany (by Australian standards at least!) Perfect outback experience. We got a little homestead with our pets and garden which we could need some help with like looking after the dogs and kangaroos and weeding as well as light housework. And some small jobs on the station like cleaning trough and some fencing.

We are a semi young busy couple running two business and could need some help occasionally.

We are really remote 420km north of Perth on the great northern highway. Next shops are 150 km each way. But we do have Telstra mobile service. We own the local
roadhouse and have a few international workers as well as some Australian.

In exchange for a few hours help we offer meals and accommodation ( your own private room) and a real outback experience which includes but not limited to gold prospecting, camping in the bush and a good time.

Regards Kathrin
