I am a live aboard a house boat owner on Thames river in SW London, having designed built them myself with many reused windows e.g. double glazing and kitchens. As its in water we are all here at our own risk. My four house Barges (House boats) have young mixed sex, mixed nations tenants, ages 18 to 35 in SW London. That is my business renting cabins. they are currently on Thames SW London zone 6, near Hampton Court and Kingston, you might cycle between them and stay on different barges so come with a back pack not suitcase! I am direct (do not take it personally), chatty, opinionated, interesting, fun, single with children that live with their wonderful mums, that do not visit often as they are dispersed sadly. Originally from rugged New Zealand, Aotearoa, land of the long white cloud, kiwi fruit, All Blacks, Alpes, volcanoes, deserted beaches, lakes earthquakes and a whole lot else! I like exercise, boating, cycling, rugby, history, parks, going to movies, pubs. You will learn much... more inside

We are a busy couple working mostly from home. I am English and Rob is Argentinian. I have a bad back and our garden and home is suffering as a result. We have been helpXers ourselves and enjoy meeting people from across the globe. We are erhem.. middle aged and would prefer helpers over 35 for a few days. I enjoy teaching english and have done so in Spain for a few months so am happy to conduct daily lessons. Our spare bedroom is full of stuff but there is a single bed in there. Helpers can have a simple breakfast and lunch but dinner will be cooked in the evenings. We dont eat red meat but do eat chicken and fish.

The jobs will be mostly normal garden and house jobs and free time will be from 3pm daily most times. Sundays preferred if you would go exp!ore and give us some private time and on Saturdays we can show you the beautiful Peak district which is 15 minutes away by car or bus. There is a train station nearby. Sorry No smokers.

Update:

We need one volunteer ASAP, and shifts are gonna be different now cos we have 3 or 4 volunteers now. We will update shifts info soon but we can explain you on the interview.

Usually we don`t select helpers until we know when the current helpers are leaving, we know it`s not good for planning but it`s good for the current helpers since they don`t feel pressure to leave and that is more important for us.

Anyway you can apply any time and if we like your profile we keep in touch and let you know when we have any position available

ABOUT US:

Since 2015 I am doing a change in my career and I set up a guesthouse which gives me more freedom than full time teaching, and I enjoy meeting people from all over the world.
Your help would be appreciated as well because thanks to you I will have more time for the Charity. ... more inside

We are looking one person immediately and people from mid September and for the rest of 2018, also for 2019. Close to town and sea.
We are also looking for people from mid September for a longer stay.
Normally we do prefer longer stays we will take people for as little as 3 weeks.

We have a small holding in Devon where we keep poultry (Chickens, various ducks, and geese) and bees. We also have cats who share our house. We have a small orchard and a Kitchen Garden plus an acre of gardens. The poultry are not for eating, but do provide us with a plentiful supply of eggs.
Although not self sufficient in fruit and vegetables we do try to grow what we can, so there is usually fresh veg in season.

All that we do here is on an organic basis often growing heritage varieties of fruit and vegetables.

The help that we need on a daily basis involves care of the poultry:
Letting them out in the morning, 8am, checking they have sufficient clean water, collecting and dating eggs. ... more inside

IMMEDIATE and ANYTIME: For foreign helpers already in the UK you would be welcome to join us for a day working in the garden or at the farm. A good chance to practice your English alongside native speakers. We are 1 hour by train from London, 10 minutes from Brighton, and you can choose any day that you are free to join us.

We have been growing Japanese and English vegetables since spring 2005, starting with just half an acre of land. In 2018 we will continue our drive for self-sufficiency on our 60 acre site at a beautiful and very peaceful location near Cooksbridge, with many wild birds and wild animals for company!. We use hand tools, including scythes, but also tractor-pulled machinery for seed bed preparation. No artificial fertilisers and no pesticides or herbicides are used - our methods seek to al... more inside

We are a family with hens who live in the Yorkshire Dales, 7 miles from Skipton and Grassington and 5 miles from Malham Cove. Local attractions and places of interest include Bolton Abbey, Burnsall, Malham Cove (limestone pavement featured on Harry Potter where peregrine falcons are nesting), Kettlewell and there are many interesting walks along the river, on the fells, moors and Dalesway footpath. We are also on the white rose cycle route. There is an abundance of wildlife and birds and on clear nights the stars are beautiful. The area is steeped in history and we could point you in the direction of some 16th Century Pubs including the awesome Craven Arms famous for fantastic locally sourced food complete with a replica Cruck barn.

We live in a semi detached house which isn't huge but we have a spare room with a day bed that can accommodate a single person. We have shared bathroom facilities. There is a TV in the bedroom & we have Sky and you are welcome to watch TV in the ... more inside
