Attention Horse lovers!! We have a small family run Riding School and Livery yard and dog boarding kennels in county Kildare near Dublin and we need help with our ponies and horses - we would be delighted if we could find someone who would help us with these animals and who is able to ride to a decent level/clean stables/groom horses/walk dogs..
We have some lovely well trained Horses for any horse enthusiast. From time to time we have Horses in to sell for clients. We also attend Horse Shows.
We would love someone who could do a bit of maintenance on the yard/farm,gardening,painting etc if asked. Working around Horses can be hard work but rewarding. I have bred Horses for over 40years and we are a fully insured and approved riding school so there is plenty of knowledge to be gained. Our breeding season is starting in a few weeks and we are expecting 15 foals (baby horses). We also have 2 large dogs.We have a beautiful large Georgian Home with mature gardens close to the university... more inside

This is an 18th century listed Georgian residence, set in tranquil parkland located on the Tipperary/Kilkenny border in the beautiful South East of Ireland.

We run a dairy farm of Friesian/Jersey cows in a spring calving, grass-based system where our cows live outdoors for most of the year. As well as cows and calves we have dogs, cats, a horse and a peacock. There is a lodge that is a gate lodge to here, which we run as a 4 star self-catering holiday home. We are only 20 minutes from Kilkenny city and only 10 minutes from the nearest town where you can get the bus to Dublin or Cork which make exciting day trips. The ancient medieval city of Kilkenny is today a thriving, modern capital that has protected its precious heritage whilst evolving as one of Irelandís most vibrant and enjoyable cities. Its narrow slipways, side streets and preserved buildings, are matched only by its reputation for fine dining, great shopping, and entertainment.

We are a family of five with two ... more inside

I run a small part-time thoroughbred breeding concern in Co. Monaghan. I currently have 3 mares and 1 2year-old.

The day starts off with an early morning feed and some training with the 2 year-old which takes about 45 minutes. The horses are then turned out for the day and the next horse job is a feed in the middle of the day followed by another at 9pm before the horses are turned out again for the night. Ocassionally if a horse is sick or has an injury it may be confined to it's stable so some mucking-out is required. From November to March the horses are stabled at night so mucking-out duties are required during this period.

I also have a few sheep and 2 cats.

If you are willing to help you will need to be very experienced around horses as the horses are racehorses and they can be unpredictable and are very powerful. In return the horses give you lots of pleasure. I also travel the horses to Stud farms and Racecourses during the year so if you're happy to come along you w... more inside

What's on offer:
I can offer your own room in a lovely house with big grounds, wifi / internet access, laundry facilities, shower - all the comforts of our home. You are also welcome to have meals with us - or raid the fridge when peckish! I can also offer a wee bit of pocket money - but not an awful lot to be honest....

My home is in a rural setting, near Dundalk. It is an ideal base for exploring the area between Belfast & Dublin. There are good transport connections to both cities from Dundalk. There is a regular bus service to Dundalk from about 1km from our house - but it is not very frequent. English classes are available in Dundalk.
