We run an internship program for people interested in working with huskies in a semi-professional capacity. In other words, we don`t just take people as volunteers and expect them to poop. Rather, we have a systematic training system in place which is an extension of the system in place for paying clients who want to participate in the husky lifestyle for short periods of time.

Interns learn about and participate in the daily and weekly tasks that need to be completed on the farm. The first week is a bit of a baptism of fire guided by a daily mentor in which there is complete immersion into every aspect of life here.

The degree to which people can participate in the range of roles available on the farm depends on the length of their stay, their expertise coming in, and the level of interest in the various roles.

Duties change with the seasons from one-on-one dog training and construction / maintenance work in the summer, to dog-conditioning and safari preparation work in... more inside

About us:
We are one of the larger experienced organic vegetable farms in Sweden still active and have accepted volonteers since 1991.

We are a certified organic vegetable farm that produces food for local consumption. We grow an abundance of vegetables and potatoes on 4 to 5 of our 50ha and on the rest, grains of many heirloom varieties of wheat and rye for our small home bakery.

Our vegetables are mainly sold through subscription baskets commonly called CSA (community supported agriculture) locally. We were the first in Sweden with CSA and have two "daughter" farms with whom we shared the way to start.

For more pictures see "bilder" on our website. See videos where we pack the CSA baskets there and also on cooking and nature walk in English.

We are in the process of reestablishing a permaculture designed forestgarden.

Time scheme:
We usually accept helpers for vegetable farming from Mid-February through mid-December.We are now planning the time after 21st of Au... more inside

!!!Thank you for your interest, but unfortunately can't we host any more helpers !!!

Hi there!
We are a friendly-loving-open-minded-multicultural-easy-going-outdoor-fun-making-absolutely-awesome-family of 5 :). The ones with two legs are Viola, Samir and Maris (3 years) and the four legged ones are Alice and Jokki, our two siberian huskies. In 2013 we set out on a long journey visiting and living in different countries. Since 2016 we live in the far north, close to the small town of Kiruna in Swedish Lapland.
Our home is a small wood cabin located on a beautiful piece of land surrounded by mountains, forests and the Kalix river. It lies between Kiruna (20 min. by car) and Nikkaluokta (40 min.). Nikkaluokta is also one of the entrance points for the famous Kungsleden hiking trail and to Kebnekaise, the highest mountain in Sweden.
This summer we want to renovate our guest cabin and the sauna and need some help with that. We also would like to have someone playing with our kid ... more inside

Interested in self-sufficiency? Want to help build a community? Love the sea? Come to our farm and become part of our collective!

***We will soon start booking next spring and summer's places!!

Involving people from all over the globe, we hope to eventually form a community present both on land and at sea that will cooperate with eco-villages, sharing the bliss of sustainable living and traveling through organic farming and sailing —connecting places and people across the oceans.

Having finished the building of our boat and back from our first sea-trial trip, we are now based on an organic apple farm 40 minutes south of Oslo, 20 minutes from the boat, where we are focusing on bee-keeping as we intend to build up on honey production and queen-breeding this next summer.

We can host from 4 to 8 volunteers, kids and pets welcomed as well! Experience, though appreciated, is not required as long as there is will to learn.

In coming here you may be asked to do anything fr... more inside

Good day to you all.

My name is Dennis.
I live with my cat in a village that's sometimes nicknamed Uutonen.
The village is a part of Tohmajärvi town that borders to Russia.

Uutonen has had a little bit of a bad reputation in the past, maybe still has.
The village has 20 or so factory worker houses. Aka barnhouses that are rotting away. I have two of theese houses, live in one.
The house is off-grid, dry toilet and so on.

At the moment Im working on a energy sufficient little house.
In the outskirts of the nearest "bigger" city Joensuu, in a suburb called Kulho.
We started a sustainability project, it is in its grassroot stage. The project is called nomadtown, rented land where we are alloud to raise temporary little houses, yurts, tipis or new kinds of structures.
Ideas are welcome.

Helpers are hosted both in Uutonen and Joensuu, depending on what is going on.
When in nomadtown housing is tent with tiny stowe. Its cold I know but we are lucky to have a sauna the... more inside

Welcome to a cosy old cottage with a big garden by the woods, just 1,5 hours to Oslo and the same to Gothenburg.
It's close to bus stops and to Vitlycke with the bronse age houses (replica) and the famous rock carvings - world heritage).

From about 8 june and two weeks my son, Jonas, 30, needs help from a handy person with gardenig and assisting house renovation. He is a carpenter who now study psykology.

Work 6 hours work / 5 days a week.

The nature in the neighbourhood is idyllic with woods, fields and small hills, peacefull lakes in the forest and the amazing Bohuslän archipelago with popular fishermans/tourists villages.

In the small woods by the cottage you may see a wild animal.
It's just a short walk on the old road along some fields to the amazing rock carvings at Vitlycke and a bronse-age farm (replica).
You can borrow a bike and enjoy the surroundings. There are many small roads with almost no traffic.

It takes around only 5 minutes to drive to ... more inside

We don´t need any help.

We are sheep farmers and got some horses. What we want help with is in May with the lambing season but in May - August is horseback riding and some other work at the farm. The helper have to have a good practice in horseback riding (but if you are just helping in May you don´t need to be able to ride a horse). It is good if the helper have some experience whit the Icelandic horse. The Helper needs to speak English.
The volunteer lives in our home. Have a room for her/him self ( in May some times have to share a room). Eat with family 4 meals a day. We want our volunteers to be like one of the family.
A stay with us you get a chance to meet Icelandic nature and culture. Icelandic sheep farming and also the Icelandic horse that has been protected from the settlement.
Work is 5-6 hours Monday to Friday. In May, at lambing, it can be work on Saturdays and Sundays. But then there will be a extra day´s of in stead.
Stafn (the farm) is in the north east of ... more inside
