Currently we have helpers, but we like to plan in advance so feel free to contact us if you are interested.

Minimum stay 2 months, longer would be even better! Couples preferred. Experience with gardening, carpentry, and animals would be ideal.

We don't smoke, drink alcohol, or use drugs and appreciate the same in others.

We are an artist/musician American/Austrian couple, 46 and 58, living on a mini-farm in the famous Vienna Woods outside the city. Beautiful scenic area; sort of the first baby foothills of the Alps. A rare combination of quiet peaceful seclusion where you can see the stars at night, surrounded by thousands of acres of public forest land for hiking, yet only 45 minutes from the city center of Vienna.

This is an ideal home base for touring the amazing city of Vienna, the rest of Austria and central Europe. The world class museums and amazing architecture of the city, plus medieval castles, historic monasteries and churches, quaint villages, and gorgeou... more inside

Hello!
We are a small family-run business consisting of Kristel&Patrick, Henriette (4y)&Fridolin (6y), Charlotte (baby) at least 2 cats, 6 sheep, 8 chicken, 6 ducks, millions of butterflies, worms, bucks and ants.
Formally trained as architects, we started in 2016 our organic CSA farm under the name “Paradieschen” and now this is the paradise for us and our plants.
Our farm is situated in the picturesque East Styria near the medieval Riegersburg Castle and just one hour away from the City of Graz. The area is known for its beautiful landscape but also for great food: actually the famous organic chocolate manufacture Zotter is just 15 minutes away from our place.
Most of our contributors are from Graz and we deliver there the weekly share of the crop: a great opportunity to spend some time in the City.
There is plenty to do at our farm: either on the field helping with the plants or in and around the house with housekeeping and building. Generally you can expect an average wor... more inside

We bought and renovated a wunderfull 111 years old stone farmhouse and are since continuously building up our farming-dreams. Right now there are already 7 hens and a rooster, 2 freeland-pigs, 4 bee-hives and 40 sheep (all our animals are old rare breeds). Furthermore there are 2 cats and our 3 kids. We specialized in sheep-dairy products (you can learn milking and cheese-making) and cultivation and maintenance of old orchards, consisting of apples, pears, plums, cherries, nuts,...
You will be staying in a nice 80ies caravan with a wunderfull few over our sheep-meadows, having your own bathroom in our house.
There are various working possibilities - from gardening, fencing, milking, creating a treedatabase, wood-working,... Most important right now is the building of a new "winery"! So people with construction skills would be awesome!
Interested? We're looking forward to you!
Uli and Leopold
P.s: we also speak french and italian

NEWS:
Please first of all notice: We are a family and what we offer you is being a welcome part of our family for the time of your stay - we are not a hostel and dont want to be one! You will work and live in the middle of our (sometimes loud and emotional) family, means share/mix our and your life for that time; we open our whole house (+heart) for you: so if you look for a separated/isolated working and hostel place, please go somewhere else.
NOW:
Times of change, we have started a New project in Greece, planting a dryland forestgarden in Order to geht a fertile Land in an area that has no agriculture since the 1980th.
So we share our time and energy, but soon we will move.
This summer we look for helpers, willing to help us finishing here and moving there.

WHO WE ARE:
We (Hartwig&Leila) and Hartwigs mum, sometimes our kids (22 and 18) - (and some wonderful volunteers) live together with chicken, ducks, cats and dogs. We grow our own vegetables, a lot of berrie bushes an... more inside

Hello everyone!
We look for helpers from 24th of July on. We look for someone to help a bit with the household, in the garden and take our dog Rocky out once or twice a day while I am at work (just short....in front of the house so that he can pee....).So I really would like helpers that like dogs and that are interested in spending some time with them.
It's an easy job and you have a lot of sparetime.
You get free accommodation in a beautiful house with your own room, own bathroom and free internet. Food is also free of course.
We live in beautiful Austria in a small town called Alland about 25 km from Vienna. Please note that the bus connection at night is quite bad, so if you like to go out in the evenings it's not the right place to stay.
But if you like to spend time in nature and have a lot of time for yourself you will love it!

Begin Profile:
It's amazing how far you can travel, without leaving your home. (And hopefully the other way round: How at home can you be, while all the world from home?)

Hello There!
Bonjours, Salut!
Buenos dias!
Und Guten Tag!
(in writing I will stick to English, because the other two I can speak some, but barely write ...)

We're looking forward to your requests! Ideally we're looking for more long-term-oriented stays.

About us
We're living on an organic farm, trying to make it work. As both adults lack a farming background, there's lots of stuff that we can use help with. Also of course the more independently you can work, the better for everyone. But don't be scared: There's always some routine tasks too that are easily learned and would improve the running of the place.

Our farm is located in south-east Styria, at a hillside. We have some forest to walk in, and some Grassland to enjoy the view and cuddle the sheep.
Production wise, we have Grassland ... more inside

Help with training our 24 huskies and working with kids and young adults in the field of animal assisted therapy, We also do holiday camps for kids and grow our own fruits and vegetables.

We provide free accomodation in your own room, free meals (mainly vegetarian), free WLAN and trips to the area from time to time. You can take days off and visit the cities of Vienna, Prag, Brno and Budapest if you are interested.

In general we prefer long term stayers as it takes some time to get to know the team and work with the dogs. You live here as part of the family in a young social project. So we expect that you take responsibility for the space we are living together in and behave as a good team member to follow our main goal - Keeping the dogs happy!

Hello,
we are family (Guido, Beli, Johann 4 and Artur 3), currently working on the dream of turning our garden into a little permaculture paradise and growing as many food supplies as possible on our own.

Also we are about to set up a meeting place for families (Familiengarten), where they can just get together, share facilities, help each other with different tasks, find prepared learning environments for their children and have their children looked after if needed, all of this in the sense of unschooling.

We are at the very beginning with all of this and are looking for people to help us with all kinds of things: gardening, finishing of the house (we renovated an old house and live upstairs, sharing it with another family),household routine, looking after the kids, collecting wild herbs, cooking, making learning materials for the Familiengarten, turning the old shed into a "garden kitchen" ...

We enjoy passing on the knowledge and skills we have and love exchanging i... more inside

Hello everyone!

This is a very different and special offer. I am an organic tanner, living in Austria/Europe.

I use stag, deer, sheep and goat and tan it without any chemicals, poison or Chrom. I only use local barks for vegetable tanning, like oak or spruce.

UPDATE: Looking for a carpenter/mechanic to help me fix some tanning machines
NEW Schedule! Booked out until Mid July 2018
NEW! Horse hides arrived
NEW! Chamois arrived
NEW! First pelts made from sheep
UPDATE: As one of my helpers didn't like the silence here - I live in a village with no pub, shop or any entertainment, all we have is a forest.
UPDATE: Coming here also means to help in the garden if necessary, not only in the tannery

If you come here you will learn:
- how to tan by hand, so that you can tan back home too
- how to dehair, deflesh, tan, soften hides to make leather
- how to tan with small machines available everywhere (e.g. washing machines)
- how handcraft tannery machines work
- see produ... more inside
