We now have helpers for March and April 2020, so the earliest we can take more is the middle of May. DIYers, gardeners, carpenters will all be welcome.
Hosts.. We are English.John and Barbara, retired teachers.
We have owned our property, not a farm, more of a very large garden, since 1989. We now spend half the year here.We have much less energy but still need to keep on top of a productive garden and continue renovations. We have catered for vegans, vegetarians, celiacs and other needs/preferences. We try to be organic gardeners and be self-sufficient with fruit and veg. We keep ducks for eggs and have a large polytunnel.

Broadband wi-fi is present on site. Bicycles are available.

We aim for self-sufficiency without being extreme. We grow, harvest, and try to conserve any excess. This means bottling and drying produce later in the season.
The crops include asparagus, beans, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, potatoes, tomatoes, spinach, kiwi,cherries,peaches,apples... more inside

Dear Helpers,

We are a young (in spirit and mind) French-Argentinian-International couple, Annette and Alé, that after backpacking, moving and living all around the world for many years, are living now in France, in a farm at the heart of the "Parc Naturel du MARAIS POITEVIN" (Grand Site de France), at the edge of La Banche river.

Please, in order to get an appropriate answer, read the entire description and when you contact us please answer to all the questions we ask at the end.

Our place is near to La Rochelle, Ile de Re, Atlantic sea side...

Ten years ago, we bought a XVI century old farm, to renovate it, and we are still working on it, in order to propose BnB with full accessibility.

Our goal is to reach a self-sufficient and sustainable life style, and to share our way of life with helpers and friends. We believe this is our way to make a better world.

We own several kinds of poultry, such as ducks, geese, hens, roosters and chickens, a little flock of sheep,... more inside

Hi

Availability - Now onwards - particularly April

Currently we would love to have someone or a couple for taking care of the animals - feeding the sheep, poultry, horses, dogs and cats. Walking the dogs . We also have a bit of painting and decorating that needs doing on an apartment in Caen that we are getting ready for renting. Minimum stay 3 weeks, and the longer the better in general. We are happy to have people anytime of the year. We are always very happy to welcome cooks, and we have had some really amazing chefs over the years.

If you are good at riding, we have 2 horses, and they would welcome getting ridden more often than is currently the case.

We are coming to the end of the major renovation project that is our 14th century home. We moved in in May 2017, and have been working ridiculously hard to try and finish the house, while setting up our small holding, with sheep, horse, ducks, chickens and cats. We have just finished building a barn for the animals.

We are Ron and Judi and we have lived in Northern Brittany for over 14 years and shared 13 of these with our alpacas! We have been joined from time to time by fantastic helpers who have helped us make life at La Grand-Mere even more wonderful!

We always have lots of outdoor work, which at the moment is helping us with the clearing of fallen trees, shredding branches, building a lean-to tool shed plus field shelter as well as replacing paddock fencing.
We always have lots of tree work if you have the skills!

Our work can be quite physical so we need strong, energetic, enthusiastic helpers.

The focus of our life here is our animals, a small herd of alpacas, chickens, cats and a large flock of doves! For us, the highlight of each day involves doing our alpaca jobs, ranging from twice daily feeding and clearing poo to trimming toenails, as well as reminding them how good it can be to go walking on the halter occasionally!

We leave helpers to decide how involved they want ... more inside

Hi!
We are a young couple (Mathieu is French and sophie is English) with a 2 year old and a second which is supposed to pop out in August. we have a house in a beach town. We’ve pretty much finished renovating the main part of the house and already rent it out at weekends (7 bedrooms) but are now starting the two extra rooms which will be a sort of games room and mini spa (jacuzzi/sauna) with a terrasse. The work can involve any of the following: up cycling furniture, painting and decorating, flooring, some Carpenter kind of jobs, gardening, tiling, building a new terrace, plumbing and electricity would be amazing, cleaning, sanding, helping out with the ducks and chickens and lots more! construction/building experience would be great or at least basic knowledge of tools :)

We would expect roughly 4 sometimes 5 hours per day per person, and of course if you'd like days off to explore you can spread this out how you like over the week! We’d also love it if you could help out wi... more inside
