We are a homeschooling family of 5 people and 3 cats who live in suburban Queens in 75-year old house and we could use help with the general maintenance/repairs.
The structure is sound, but it needs lots of cosmetic work and repairs.
There is no dearth of work that needs to be done.

We do *NOT* need help with daily household assistance, child care, or cooking. We prefer HelpXers in their 30s or older or couples. If you are still in your 20s and interested, please discuss your work ethic and work knowledge/experience in your request.

WE NEED INDEPENDENT SELF-STARTERS WHO DO NOT NEED CONSTANT SUPERVISION AND ASSISTANCE FROM US AND WHO ARE WILLING TO TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO COMPLETE TASKS AND COME TO US WITH QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS AS THEY ARISE! ALSO IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO PUT IN THE HOURS PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND AS WORK ETHIC IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US.

WE NEED HELP WITH BIGGER AND SEASONAL WORK:
gardening (weeding, pruning, raking);
spackling and painting (interio... more inside

Hi, I'm Cole. My home is a collection of cottages on a waterfront property in Gloucester, VA. I own 4 restaurants and work 7 days a week. I need help around the place with general maintenance, weeding, minor gardening. Currently in special need of help cleaning up around the yard and organizing storage sheds. I would only expect a few of hours work each morning. The location is somewhat remote, very quiet and peaceful. Open minded (I am gay), relaxed atmosphere. High speed internet is also available. I provide food, but because of the hours I work you would usually be cooking for yourself. Accommodations is your own small cottage. May through October is the best time to come, as there is much more to do outdoors and on the water, kayaking, fishing, swimming in the creek. Anytime is OK however.
Thanks for looking!

Our 100+ acre farm and cafe are a part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run cafes, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to stay with us in exchange for participation in our busy life. We currently have goats, ducks, chickens, cattle, and honey bees. We care for our animals to provide milk and eggs. We are now endeavoring to grow and process our own grain to provide non-GMO flour for ourselves and feed for our animals. We would love some support in establishing our granary and infrastructure surrounding it. We also run a café in the tiny town of Oak Hill, New York. We built our rustic Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment.
Help with animal care, household chores, and even some work in our cafe are much needed and very welcome.

We all work together in our houses, on the farm and at our c... more inside

Our farm-house is on 46 acres of pasture and wood accessed via dirt road. Not all mobile phones can get a signal here, and we don't have WiFi. We keep chickens for eggs, we garden for fresh veggies, and we preserve vegetables and meat to enjoy during the winter.

We'll consider your interest and ability when handing out tasks, which might include some of the following: gardening, canning, crafts, hide tanning, cooking, cleaning, tending animals, and so on. Of course we'll teach you what you don't know how to do.

We're primarily interested in people who want to enjoy life on the farm and intend to spend most of their time there. It's best if you can be satisfied on the homestead because we are far from town and town is small. We can take you with us on supply runs, fishing, etc. So there certainly will be time away from home as well.

Current projects:
Basically down for the winter.

We are an ecovillage and intentional community of 100 people on 485 acres in central Virginia. We welcome visitors throughout the year to participate in the life of our agrarian, feminist, communal village. We are open to all different kinds of people, and we particularly welcome people of color, women, and queer folks.

The initial stay is a structured Three-Week Period, during which time visitors take part in our work areas (gardening, food processing, making tofu, weaving hammocks, and a lot more) and also the social life of the community (gathering/parties and activities like yoga, singing, swimming, canoeing, etc.)

You will be housed in a ten-bedroom, two-bath cottage. We provide meals (vegan, vegetarian, meat) and can accommodate some special diet needs. Sorry, no children or pets.

For 2020 HelpXers please include the exact time frame you are looking to helpX. Please be specific and clear so we can check our availability.

We are a family of 4. My partner and I are former circus performers, we have two school aged children. Our children are spirited, loving, and gentle children who enjoy meeting new people. They love to share about their interests and hobbies. During the school year we need extra help with household errands and chores, occasionally child care, but not often.

Our ideal helpXer would blend into our family unit, is willing to help around the house, for example helping with chores or helping children with their chores, occasional errands. Hopefully nothing that would be more than your own parents or family would expect from you were you living with them. We would hope you enjoy being with the family, but it is not required.

Because we are not trying to find a "worker bee" we do not keep a set schedule for our helpXers. If you are here ... more inside

I am an international development professional , multilingual, single woman. Non-smoker, experienced traveler, enjoying a variety of activities. Enjoying my colorful home and neighborhood. Happy to share my home and some of the work it takes to maintain.

Our house is in a quiet residential neighborhood in the City of Baltimore, near John Hopkins University Homewood campus, with good bus connections to all what the city has to offer. You will have a private room with a double bed and share the rest of the house with the owner. Decent WIFI is at your disposal. Free parking. We have a YMCA sports center right near us, with a pool and other sports activities.

General help needed in my house in Baltimore - cleaning, de-cluttering, yard work and gardening, painting, small house repairs, and whatever else inspires us.

This year, 2020, I am looking for anyone who has home carpenter experience.
************************************************

I have 8 alpacas and 4 mini horses. It would be wonderful if whoever came could be handy in general help. Once a month, I have 2 sheds that the alpacas hang out in. They need to be cleared every 3-4 days.

I have an Irish wolfhound, a 3 legged mini schnauzer, 3 carts and a beagle.

I have a huge living area downstairs that I would love to clear. It has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room area. I would LOVE to have it cleared. I have been using it as a storage area.

There are many beautiful sites to see around here and many places to visit. Depending on time, I could drive you to many places and activities. I moved away from New York City 10 years ago, and am familiar with many places you may want to visit. There is also a MegaBus Company you can travel on to go to NYC for a trip, or to Niagara. Check out their website.
