We are a well established hostel in Cape Town. Situated in a student area near the University of Cape Town with good public transport within walking distance to the centre of town and the beaches.
We require volunteers skilled in gardening and/or maintenance to help us create beautiful spaces throughout the hostels 4 properties. Further, the volunteers are required to help the full time staff with duties such as welcoming guests and helping guests to orientate around the hostel and the area. We offer free dorm accommodation in return.
We subscribe to low environmental impact practices which include re-cycling, grey water toilets and solar water geysers.

We are a guest lodge and wildlife rehabilitation center based close to Kruger Park.

We run the guest lodge with overnight accommodation, a bar, restaurant and pool in order to fund the work we do with wildlife.

The wildlife center takes in injured and orphaned wildlife and rehabilitates it with the aim of release back into the wild. We mainly work with primates but also take in antelope, birds, and small predators.

We are mainly looking for help in the bar in the lodge in the evenings. This involves 2 - 3 hours (sometimes more if its a busy night) working in the bar - serving drinks and possibly meals to our guests and other volunteers.

During the day volunteers are welcome to get involved with the work at the wildlife center. This involves work such as feeding, cleaning, hand raising baby animals, medicating sick animals etc.

In return we will provide accommodation in shared rooms and 3 basic meals a day.

We took on the management of the family property and guesthouse in 2015 with a vision of creating a small scale mixed enterprise farm with a focus on conservation, regeneration and self-sufficiency. We grow, make and bake as much of our own food as possible. The second part of this vision is to create retreat style country accommodation and offer training and courses along these lines.
Our farm consists of organic vegetable growing, chickens, geese and have just planted a bio-intensive market garden while we build up capital for livestock as part of our regenerative agriculture ethos.

We are looking for helpers to assist with the day to day operations of the farm and guesthouse. This includes maintenance, building, tree felling, gardening, carpentry, livestock care and management, planting and harvesting on the farm. A 50hectare indigenous forest is home to over 200 species of birds so we would like to maintain existing trails and perhaps set up new walking trails.

Life is a book and if you don't travel you only read the first page...or less...

I return back to South Africa in December 2007 and started the journey like every other young South African in a career, I over excelled in every career position I faced, thus was I very successful very young, I became a financial manager at BMW and stagnated in that position for the last three years. The reason I'm sharing this because I feel/know that the experiences and knowledge I gained was from meeting new people from all over the world and formed me into this special individual.

NOW- Back back to the present:
In these years back in South Africa I got married to the most beautiful, clever, one-of-a-kind girl that supports me and build m... more inside
