This is a large piece of land yet only minutes from the Blockhouse Bay town centre, which has buses, various shops, library. The bus service takes you to downtown Auckland in 30 to 40 minutes. All of this metropolitan activity is at the top of our hill. Here at the bottom of the hill it is quiet and peaceful and feels rural. There are two beaches, Sandy Bay at the bottom of our garden and Blockhouse Bay Beach at the end of the road (5 minutes away). On our land we are growing vegetables and have a lot of fruit trees. The land is very beautiful - we have a native bush reserve next door and Sandy Bay Beach along the lower boundary, so that we only have one neighbour. Accommodation is in our house (own small room). A kayak is also available to use when the tide is in.
Currently living in our house are Barbara, veterinarian and homeopath, Phil, maintenance man and motorsport photographer and Sophie, who is a paramedicine student. Then there are Grace, a physio student and her boyfri... more inside

We are located in the beautiful Hunua Vakley, surrounded by the Hunua ranges. Perfect if you like hiking or biking. Only 15 minutes to Papakura and 1 hour to Auckland CBD. There is a local service station, tennis court and dairy.
We have recently purchased a property and we need a bit of help tidying it up, all will be manual labour.
Main jobs we will require help with are clearing dead trees, gardening, water blasting, painting and other odd jobs.
We will be onsite most of the time also working on property.
We can offer you free accomodation and breakfast supplies in return for 5 hours work a day.
Would be happy to negotiate weekends.
For the right hard working person we would be able to look at additional compensation.

Hi Helpers,we are now available for hosting Helpers again.

As in the past the jobs are inside and when the weather is good out on the farm or in the garden. The inside jobs include spring cleaning, window cleaning, and usual household chores. Outside jobs include clipping shrubs, and keeping the garden tidy, on the farm you will help David with farm chores.

We enjoy the company of our Helpers, and like learning about the countries they come from.

You will have your own room, see photo. Laundry facilities are available.

We can collect you from Papakura the nearest town,(12 ks), where there are buses and trains to the central city.

We live in an attractive rural area on the outskirts of Auckland.

700 acre sheep and beef farm south of Auckland, in picturesque Clevedon village.

We need helpers from now on to help us with cleaning up the farm after the floods in Clevedon. Mostly clearing branches and debris from the farm tracks, as well as helping repair fences etc, as well as general farm help (6 hours max) in exchange for a great self contained flat and meals.
Clevedon is 30 minutes south east of Auckland city.
The work is quite physical. Enthusiasm to get stuck in and help where needed most important :)

Accommodation is set up with a double bed. Own bathroom, living room/kitchen.
We would prefer helpers over 23 years of age.
Helpers normally stay for one to two weeks.
Accommodation and food is provided in exchange for 5-6 hours help daily.
You will need your own transport.
Basic kitchen facilities provided in your accommodation. Breakfast food (continental) will be provided, along with lunches. Dinner will either be shared with us, or money provided to buy... more inside

I have a number of projects on the go at the same time. So the place can look disorganised. I need help completing some are quite simple tasks which have a start and finish...like painting the sleep out, staining new decking and re-staining the existing deck.

Other and more complex tasks include constructing an outdoor bathroom. Water tanks and irrigation for the gardens. Light jobs like pruning the olive trees and general garden maintenance.

So the exchanged would be task orientated, 'ie' getting the painting gear out and staining is best done in one go, so it might take a full day. So the following day is a rest and recreation day.

Ideally, five-day stay, be it a single/couple of two people who have a bit of life experience, who aren't afraid to ask questions and can work independently.

ACCOMidation is a separate sleep out in the garden.

TRANsport: Two zone bus ride to CBD. I live in Beachhaven, (see map). Bus stops are 100 meters away. For the more adven... more inside

Wow I have just had 2 very very bad Helpx experiences .
The first one caused me $900 damage- broke my $500 steam iron by burning right though the plastic onto the tank... and gauging a $300 fry pan I had asked her to be very careful with. So disrespectful.

the other girl was left in charge of my children and babysitting to her meant she sat at the table with her ear plugs in and watched her computer..... no idea what my kids were up to. She did not feed them... they fended for themselves getting ice cream, brandy snaps, rice paper, crackers.
Shocking!

However if you are responsible and a hard worker we'd like to hear from you.
