Hi there, Ive joined helpX to offer a place for people to stay for short term or a few months. I worked as a nanny in Spain, Australia and England and I really enjoy meeting people from different cultures and also helping people with English! At the cottage we have a young dog, chickens, a cat and we like to have shared dinners outside in the evenings. You might want to bring your own accommodation such as a van, housetruck, car or tent. There is also a big 40ft container which some people have stayed in but it has no power. We have wifi, power, water and the facilities in the house. You could do gardening and possibly building work in exchange for accommodation and food or just camp here with us. We're situated 15 minutes walk from Kina beach and Mariri estuary is across the road. 10 minutes drive into Motueka. There are currently two girls staying here. We both work in the Abel Tasman National Park. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

This is a 4 bedroom home, in one of the oldest houses in NZ - built in 1845. It is approximately 4 km from Nelson city and yet feels like you're tucked away in the bush. There are mountian bike tracks in the area, as well as a wildlife scantery. I am a 30 year old solo mother with a 3 year old. There is also my mother in the house. We are all warm and friendly humans! We are looking for help to clear up the section as well as a few building and maintaining jobs done to the house and garden.
A particular job we are looking to acheive is the building of a retaining stone wall, is there anyone out there with experience in this?

We are a relaxed down to earth couple that have taken steps to live the dream, we became the carers of 2.3 hectares of land a few years ago about 12 min from Motueka up the Motueka valley.

Literally beginning at the grass roots. Half the land was covered in pines the other half was covered in young gorse black berry and bracken.

Even in our first year we come a long way from our humble beginnings.

Our dream is to live off the land and off the grid, living with an organic intention and creating an income for us from the land.
Build a cob house, out door living space, work sheds, out door bathroom, generate power with wind sun and water.

This is our goal a little way down the track.
We have a developing garden and fruit trees, one boundary is a small spring fed stream where we get our water.

We want to return the land back to how it once would have been removing the pine trees and planting native trees.

This is not a project that happens over night, and this is wh... more inside

Lifestyle block overlooking Waimea Estuary. Helper accommodation is an insulated cabin built in a shipping container. Has a king and a single bed. Electricity. Fridge. Good view over the estuary. There is a heated salt water swimming pool which helpers can use when appropriate and kayaks that can be used at times when the tide is above 3.7m and fitted around work hours. Helpers mainly eat up at the house with hosts.
Small flock of black sheep, two alpacas, working Border Collie dog, 100 feijoa and various other trees.
I also rent out a studio apartment to tourists.
General farm and lifestyle block help needed. Four hours a day six days a week.Helpers need to have good fitness and strength and a willingness to work alone if the host is unavailable to work alongside. Whareatea is 22 kms out of Nelson,12 kms from Richmond and 8 kms from Mapua, so it is really useful if helpers have their own transport.

Brendon and I bought this 5 acre property in May 2013. We have done a lot in that time.
We have been using the Wwoofing system since that time. For feedback please see our Wwoof site, Host Number 73697.
Now we have mainly mulching and weeding plants for Helpers, some occasional firewood work, construction and cleansing. We sometimes have planting of native trees, as well as looking after our tiny flock of sheep, duck and chooks. We have a large pond we would like to swim in eventually, and we are planning to generate our own power and put in water collection and greywater systems. We like the idea of making Biogas. Brendon is a very talented Engineer, and is itching to make stuff!
We are an open minded family ( my son 23 and daughter 12) who enjoy guests who are flexible, self reliant and upfront. We want you to work in partnership with us, be able to use your talents, learn from us and enjoy what the Nelson region has to offer. If you can wash dishes and clean house, then we may ... more inside

I have an acre and a half of lawn, garden and orchard
I struggle to keep up with day to day maintenance as I work full time.
There is always something to.do, weeding, planting, spreading bark, painting, etc
I am building a house which I have moved into, but no plumbing and extension leads running all over the place for lights etc but it's very warm and comfortable after living 4 1/2 years in a bus on site. I have a great shower and a composting toilet. And a super king bed in the spare room,(no door yet ??)
I live in a residential setting in Mapua, 20 minutes drive from Richmond or Motueka, 40 from Nelson or the Able Tasman.
Facilities here are quite basic by first world standards, but I am very comfortable.
My life is VERY busy, so couldn't guarantee a home cooked meal every night or complete attention, but if you want some time in a great spot, get in touch
