Lifestyle block overlooking Waimea Estuary. Helper accommodation is an insulated cabin built in a shipping container. Has a king and a single bed. Electricity. Fridge. Good view over the estuary. There is a heated salt water swimming pool which helpers can use when appropriate and kayaks that can be used at times when the tide is above 3.7m and fitted around work hours. Helpers mainly eat up at the house with hosts.
Small flock of black sheep, two alpacas, working Border Collie dog, 100 feijoa and various other trees.
I also rent out a studio apartment to tourists.
General farm and lifestyle block help needed. Four hours a day six days a week.Helpers need to have good fitness and strength and a willingness to work alone if the host is unavailable to work alongside. Whareatea is 22 kms out of Nelson,12 kms from Richmond and 8 kms from Mapua, so it is really useful if helpers have their own transport.

Brendon and I bought this 5 acre property in May 2013. We have done a lot in that time.
We have been using the Wwoofing system since that time. For feedback please see our Wwoof site, Host Number 73697.
Now we have mainly mulching and weeding plants for Helpers, some occasional firewood work, construction and cleansing. We sometimes have planting of native trees, as well as looking after our tiny flock of sheep, duck and chooks. We have a large pond we would like to swim in eventually, and we are planning to generate our own power and put in water collection and greywater systems. We like the idea of making Biogas. Brendon is a very talented Engineer, and is itching to make stuff!
We are an open minded family ( my son 23 and daughter 12) who enjoy guests who are flexible, self reliant and upfront. We want you to work in partnership with us, be able to use your talents, learn from us and enjoy what the Nelson region has to offer. If you can wash dishes and clean house, then we may ... more inside

I have an acre and a half of lawn, garden and orchard
I struggle to keep up with day to day maintenance as I work full time.
There is always something to.do, weeding, planting, spreading bark, painting, etc
I am building a house which I have moved into, but no plumbing and extension leads running all over the place for lights etc but it's very warm and comfortable after living 4 1/2 years in a bus on site. I have a great shower and a composting toilet. And a super king bed in the spare room,(no door yet ??)
I live in a residential setting in Mapua, 20 minutes drive from Richmond or Motueka, 40 from Nelson or the Able Tasman.
Facilities here are quite basic by first world standards, but I am very comfortable.
My life is VERY busy, so couldn't guarantee a home cooked meal every night or complete attention, but if you want some time in a great spot, get in touch

Hello Everyone

We're looking for someone who wants to stay a few days with us to do some gardening stuff.

We're a German couple in our first home in New Zealand. We immigrated about 6 years ago and are in our 30s. Our home is situated only 5 to 10min walking from Nelson city centre. It is very sunny and the place has a holiday home feeling to it.

We're looking for someone to help us out with some work around the garden, mainly to get it ready for Spring.

We usually host our helpers in our sleepout which is high up in our garden. It has electricity, is fully insulated and is in a very sunny spot, with a lovely seaview. Kitchen and Bathroom are in the main house.
We currently have one flatmate staying with us until mid September. She will share the bathroom with you.

We are used to guests and flatmates and all had a great time with us. We are sure you will too!
We know the region really well, and are happy to give you tips of what to do when you're on a low budget.

Our place has a river boundary on the Roding River in Aniseed Valley about 15 min drive from Richmond. We live in a new, sunny home built by Ben who is a self-employed Builder. We have a mix of very steep land and gentle rolling hills with the area around the house basically flat. We have a small heritage apple orchard of around 80 trees, including a few cider varieties for Merophy to continue her passion of Cidermaking. There is plenty of work around the property as we have just welcomed into world our first child who is of course very time consuming! We maintain a fairly large vegetable garden and have various other plantings around the house. We are interested in permaculture principles and plan to implement them as much as possible. We require help establishing our garden and encouraging native and other plantings. There is a fair amount of weeding, stacking firewood, apple tree pruning/thinning (depending on the season), track building and potentially planting. Merophy i... more inside

Hi there, we are a young family of Five with three children aged 4years, 3years and 2years old.
We live on a 200ha Sheep and Beef farm in rural Tapawera, approx 50 mintues from Nelson

Suitable for 2 people to come and work 4-5hours a day, or work a day have a day off. Completly negotiable! Live in a lovely community with beautiful scenery. Ideally it would be easier to get about and around if you had your own car.

Would have your own room with shared facilities and we eat as a family.

Help would be with general farm activities depending on time of year such as tailing lambs, stock work, tractor work, general farm maintenance such as thistle/gorse spraying, fencing etc or the odd jobs around the home. So being handy with a hammer would come in handy :)

Look forward to hearing from you :)

We are a friendly Kiwi/Panamanian couple with two playful young sons, aged 3 and 1. We live on a large property near Kaiteriteri, a popular beach resort and the gateway to Abel Tasman National Park.

We love meeting new people from all over the world and would like to welcome friendly and interesting people into our family.

We would like some help with gardening and weeding, cleaning and odd jobs around the house, about four hours of work a day in exchange for accommodation (comfortable room with private bathroom) and three meals. This leaves you with plenty of time to relax on the beach, go for bush walks or borrow our kayaks and mountain bikes and go exploring this beautiful region. Abel Tasman National Park is right on our doorstep, accessible by boat from Kaiteriteri or we can drop you off at the start of the track in Marahau.

We would like our visitors to stay for 1-2 weeks.

We look forward to meeting you!
