Two boys 7 and 9, a mum and dad, dog and cat living in beautiful Wanaka. We have a spare room. We exchange 3 hours of help a day for accommodation only. Lawn mowing, housework all fairly mundane. Dad is away for a month and an extra pair of hands on deck would be truly helpful.

I'm updating this after having taken a break for a while....old farmhouse on the Otago Peninsula that overlooks Latham Bay and Lamlash Bay. Regular buses run from Dunedin to Portobello, which is only a two minute walk away from the house.

There is a renovated cow shed that serves as a large glass house, a former sheep pen that is/will be planted out and smaller patches of vegetables and herbs around the property.

There are two cats and free range chickens.

Aside from tending to vegetables and keeping the garden in check, there are always plenty of other options/projects to dive into... basic building and renovation work and painting etc.

I don't count hours of work done. I trust you to make a reasonable contribution.

I can offer a room, free internet and possibly the use of a bike to explore the wildlife ( penguins, albatross, seals, sea-lions etc) and the varied scenery of the Peninsula.

I sometimes bake bread and tend to cook vegetarian Indian food. I do eat me... more inside

Hi there fellow travelers,

Im looking for only short stays, up to 7 days at this stage, depending on your skills.
I have a building project! I'm away till second week in October. Looking for someone after that, to help with some small painting and garden jobs.

After travelling myself for many years, I have now brought my own peaceful part of the world in Ettrick.
Im 1.5 hours from Dunedin, Invercargill, Queenstown and Wanaka.
There are daily buses from all main cities that stop at Ettrick Shop, or in Roxburgh where I can pick you up or drop you off. I live 4 mins away from Ettrick sort of out of town with amazing view of our lovely valley.
We are 12km/10min away from the nearest larger town of Roxburgh.
I would like someone to help me in my garden and also other interesting job around the farm, working for approx 4 hours a day.
I have a few friendly cows who loves lots of attention! I pretty much live off the land also build and fix almost everything around the farm.

Hello, We are a couple with 3 beautiful children under 4 years old, and we live on a be Sheep and Beef property with a secluded luxury 5 star accommodation business on the property. We have traveled extensively in the past and welcome travelers to share in the experience of living on a large working farm in NZ.
We are looking for 1-2 people who can help us with a number of tasks around the household including food prep, some housework and occasional childcare. We also have work outdoors such as lawn mowing around our properties, gardening, general maintenance, painting etc. We would also be interested in some one that was keen to help with our conservation efforts around our property including tree planting and pest control to help increase our healthy native bird population
We can provide cottage accommodation with internet about 1km from our house and a vehicle while you stay with us and food of course. This opportunity would suit people who are keen to experience a truly rural ... more inside

Hi. We're a family of five who live on 8.2 ha of land just outside of Wanaka New Zealand. We have two dogs, a cat, three horses and four chickens. We need help with our gardens, planting, weeding etc etc and also with paddock care, where the horses are. A few other jobs may be included, such as chopping wood and the occasional child minding (our kids are 18, 15 and 11, so not much of the latter)

I'm looking for helpxers to come for about one week and help with a tidy up in my garden. The work is available now.

The work will be mainly outdoors, clearing weeds, digging and other general maintenance tasks etc and it's best if you've done this sort of gardening work before.

You must have your own transport because I live in the country, about 15 mins drive from the nearest town (Cromwell) and 45 minutes drive from both Queenstown and Wanaka. The pix below give a sense of the special landscape in these parts.

I offer meals and comfortable private accommodation in my adjacent guest complex for people keen to help with a range of outdoor projects.

I ask people to work 4 hours each day.

We live in a lovely coastal part of New Zealand, in the peaceful little village of Portobello on the Otago Peninsula. Itís about a 25 minute drive from central Dunedin.

We are just a few minutes from sea lions basking on one of the most beautiful wild beaches, and thereís an albatross colony up the road. Penguins live around here too. This is also one of the better places in NZ for seeing the Aurora.

We are Michael (American), Sophie (Kiwi) and two very busy preschoolers, Charles (4) and Astrid (2), as well as Gus (poodle puppy). Michael is a programmer who mostly works from home and Sophie tries to keep up with the children.

We are interested in the good life, friends, family, food, music, crafts - there are guitars and a piano here that you are welcome to play. A mandolin too. We would love to meet anyone with mandolin skills! We love knitting and woodworking and lots of other creative pursuits that we never have enough time for.

We have a large and untamed garden that... more inside

Hi, we are a couple (John & Diana) with one eleven year old daughter (Nina) and a spoodle dog. We are developing a lifestyle property in Hawea Flat. Our property is 15 minutes drive from Wanaka and about 7 minutes from Hawea, so a car is useful. There are fantastic hiking, skiing, biking and adventuring opportunities nearby.

Accommodation is in a beautiful private cedar tiny house with all facilities and lovely views of the mountains. We have finished the house and need some help landscaping, tree planting, gardening, stacking firewood etc.

Ideally we are looking for an independent couple for a period of one week initially, possibly longer depending on time of year and how it works out. We are offering accommodation in return for a minimum of 3 hours help per day, per person. We would consider a single person (hours negotiable). Meals and food are not included but you will have access to a full kitchen for cooking in the tiny house. Wi-fi access is available.

We have an Art Deco house in a street that is lined with cherry plum trees. We have no children or pets. Help with the garden would be appreciated as well as general duties around the house. We are 10 minutes walk from St. Clair Beach and the hot salt water pool. An excellent bus system every 15 minutes takes you into town.
