Hi there,we are looking for helpers to make bookings from now for the summer of 2019, starting from now. In particular we have two specific projects this year, bit physical, would suit 2 or 3 friends for a few days / up to a fortnight. After busy careers working in Education, mainly in central London, we are now an old farmhouse on the edge of a village (with pub) in Suffolk. Our first projects, have now been completed, thanks to brilliant HelpX volunteers, and now we are looking for some helpers to get the garden sorted for this year, and strengthen some of the fedging (mix of fencing and hedging). Internally, there has been a fairly major re-arrangment of rooms, which now need basic redecoration, so there is always plenty to do, even on rainy days. In exchange for 4 hours work a day, we have a beautiful self contained annex, one double room with double bed and a single bed. Then there is a smaller single room, plus own kitchen, bathroom and sitting room. I will stock the kitch... more inside

** Hello helpers! Thank you for finding our advert. We are excited to have an opportunity to use our lovely holiday cottage as accommodation for a helper (or couple of helpers) as it is free at the moment, (which is perfect as we would want you to be warm and cosy as it's winter. Please google Buzzards Bothy, Hay on Wye).

We have lots of farm and garden (maybe even some house) projects to do before Spring - some more creative, others more tidying/clearing/renovating etc. But whatever we do, we try to make it fun and satisfying! Even though we work hard (and hope our helpers will to) we are very conscious of you having a worthwhile and pleasant stay with us with plenty of time to explore and relax, so we will do all we can to make that happen!

Please get in touch with lots of detail about yourself or yourselves; How long you would want to stay for; what you are most happy doing, any particular skills/experience you have and what you would like to get out of being here.

I'm a former helpxer and wwoofer travelling around Spain and France on bicycle. I'm 30years old. My project is a new smallholding as it has only been going 3 years located in historic cob barns near the town of hatherleigh. I grow seedlings and vegetables (no dig method) and sell them at local market. Also have 13 sheep which will be lambing between 20th April until end of May 2019 especially appreciate help during this time. As it is still new, things are growing and plenty of building work and carpentry that I need a hand with. I'm lucky to have artists musicians and farmers who are neighbours and we share jobs like bottling cider, baling hay etc.
THIS YEAR: rebuilding a cob wall which we need help with. As part of rebuilding the farm which we we have already built lots, all the cob we prepare ourselves dug from local field and mixed with a tractor (see photos)
French or Spanish extra language practice would be nice but also looking for musicians to join our band.
For access I... more inside

Looking for a competent, experienced builder (joinery skills essential and plumbing/central heating installation and basic electrical work would be a great bonus). I would not expect you to work free of charge, and would like to negotiate fair payment for skilled work/expertese.
We have a large 1920s house in need of updating/adapting (but it isn't a restoration project) and need someone who can do some, or all, of the following: hanging doors, making and fitting a small staircase, constructiing new door openings/frames, fitting internal insulation boards, bathroom refurbishment, tiling, fitting new/aditional radiators, fitting new gutters, chimney pointing/capping, fitting of velux windows. The house is in a pleasant residential area of New Brighton, by the River Mersey/Irish Sea and 1 minute from the train station. The beach, and a range of leisure facilities (parks, cafes, rstaurants, cinema, theatre, bowling alley, bars etc. ) are minutes away on foot. There are wonderful views... more inside

I have just recently moved back from France and now live on the edge of Dartmoor - the moor is outside my front door. I am 10 miles from Plymouth and near to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.
I have been working on renovating the house and now the better weather is coming I need to think about the garden.
I need a raised deck building in my sloping garden and some french doors fitted as well as general gardening.
Please contact me if you think you could help me. I think it would take about 2 weeks. You would need to have some carpentry skills.

Hi, we moved to our home in North Dorset August 2014. It is a farm in a beautiful area of England. We have 3 children aged 20 - 12, 2 dogs and a cat and are preparing for beef cattle. It is a very friendly area, and the train station is close by. We planted 17000 trees over the last 3 years which need some help maintaining. We are establishing a garden, renovating a barn, making doors, painting. There are lots of different jobs to do from helping on the farm, to the garden, to cleaning and cooking in the house. If you have carpentry skills, brick laying or building skills, that is useful but not necessary.

We recently finished converting a barn to a large studio with a kitchen, it is attached to the house but quiet and private with great views.

Short-term cultural exchange in the old Roman City of Chester in exchange for helping with DIY around the house and garden.

Set in central Chester the location is close to everything you need and can enjoy in the city. Chester has many interesting things to see and do, including cultural and artistic opportunities. You can also walk along the Canal and River as well as tour the city on The Roman Sandstone Walls. The black and white Tudor buildings of the Rows are a tourist attraction and many people visit each year. It is close to North Wales, Manchester and Liverpool. I also have other guests staying, often artists and actors, as I like meeting new people from all across the world.

The helper will have a private double room, with excellent views over Wales, plus shared kitchen, bathroom, living areas and gardens. Food is not provided however occasional shared meal if that suits. I would ask the guest to remain vegan/vegetarian and non-smoking whilst in my home.

Hi, I am regularly looking for helpers as there is nearly always a new project to do here. I would prefer a couple or a someone who is creative and ideally has Carpentry, Construction, DIY and Maintenance Skills In particular please, but who can also assist with all manner of things from house cleaning, DIY, Gardening, renovation and building. I am looking for a couple, but having said that, would consider a person travelling alone too.

This is a lovely old farmhouse tucked down a Cornish country lane on the Rame peninsula. I am within walking distance of the beach and national trust coastal paths where there is amazing surfing and lots of walking opportunities. I do not run the farm as a fully working farm but do have chickens, 2 pigs, dogs and cats

I am in the process of renovating a vintage caravan, barns and out buildings, and am, along with a friend, hoping to build a small straw bale and half 'old window frame' lean-to glass house, a tree house and a clay pizza oven an... more inside

We are a family with three young boys (9, 8 and 5) based in beautiful Somerset. We live in a house which is currently undergoing renovation. We have pigs, chickens, a dog and cats. We hope to have someone who will enjoy spending time with three fun boys and can help with jobs around the house which may vary from gardening to painting to basic housework to walking the dog!

There is a bus from Wincanton (5 mins away) to London and lots of places to explore nearby for example Stourhead and Stonehenge (40 mins away by car).
