We are a 2.5 acre smallholding by the sea near Bunessan on the Isle of Mull.

The property has been long neglected and we are currently restoring gardens and stone barns. Help is needed mostly gardening, landscaping and building. Work is mostly outside and can often be muddy.
Our aim is to create organic vegetables and dye gardens and a weaving and textile studio in the barn.
Accommodation is a single room in the house with the family. We are a family of three, Simon, Monica and our son who is 12.
Helpers are welcome for 1-2 weeks.
The land has a small tidal harbour good for swimming, fishing ,kayaks and small boats. There is a bicycle for use and it is 2 miles to the bus stop and shop. Great local walking and beaches, close to lona for day trips. Various old kayaks for use in the harbour.
This is a non smoking and meat eating household but vegetarians are also welcome.
We would like 4 hours help each day and are happy to be flexible.

Hello, my name is Tessa. I live in the beautiful countryside of East Devon, currently residing with My Mum in Beer, also with my little dog Daisy (4 yrs old, a wire-haired dachshund cross collie so she likes ball games!) my autistic older brother may also be around

I am looking for help with my eco-project - a Food and Forage Garden. Our aim is to grow plants and community naturally with soul and spirit. We envisage people and plants in harmony, developing creative spaces to nurture understanding, wisdom and knowledge of nature around us.

During the coming months we will be:

* Building a compost toilet
* Creating a drinking water system from collected rain water
* Planning and creating workshop space
* Planning and creating solar and wind power systems
* Organising the barn
* Maintaining the trees and mulching

I like to use materials that come from the land (or locally) with the project. The Food and Forage Garden is on an elevated location, overlooking the sea to ... more inside

Attractive rustic old Norfolk Barns that I have been developing, on a shoe string, since 1991. In 1997 I built an eco-cabin and extended it in 2004 with a 50square metre straw-bale,on rubber tyres buildingy. We have a reed-bed purification system, and have started harvesting water. There is a large vegetable garden which I have developed along Permaculture principles with composting on site cf. Thanks to a former volunteer we now have a wonderful polytunnel. I am a member of the Permaculture association which has always been a source of inspiration.Sadly I am without large animals For many years I ran animal assisted activities, but recently have
given the ponies and pigs to a wonderful project working with city school children in a residential setting, giving them an experience of the outdoors. cf Ringsfield Hall Eco-centre near Beccles. I am now working with two Norwich Charities welcoming people in recover from addictions, and this June we received our own Charity Number:1178... more inside

Hello my name is Philip and my wife is Allison . We have a beautiful piece of land in Devon where we look after and breed alpacas. We often have beautiful baby alpacas in the summer . We have some tourism here as we have two bell tents and a shepherds hut. I like nature and the outdoors and like to have interesting conversations with any helpers we have. I am also interested in Japanese and Chinese culture. We normally only take one or two helpers at a time who will live in a comfortable lockable studio with open views of the land. We supply the food and bed linen etc. The work is five days a week and is very enjoyable and variable. It will be feeding and helping the animals as well as some light farm work, nothing too heavy. Also some tidying of the tents.Please do not use headphones to listen to music when outside because you will not hear farm vehicles.Also if you need to listen to music while outside I do not think that this is the right place for you. Please contact me with any... more inside

Hi, we are John and Stephanie, semi-retired active hosts interested in history, art, poetry and folk music as well as farming. We are looking forward hosting friendly sociable volunteers so we can also learn about your life and culture.

Are you available to help us for a few weeks and learn more about our old-fashioned way of life?
Do you like horses and other animals? We need help with stable duties, field work, hedging, gardening and some housework. You will live in our home as part of the family which sometimes includes our son and elderly mother. In exchange for around 5 hours work per day (flexible) we offer full board and all meals are included. We cook good quality meals from basic ingredients and mostly buy locally sourced produce and are happy to cater for vegetarians as many of our meals are vegetarian. Please note we only accept non smokers. Our home is an unmodernised quirky Victorian farmhouse full of antiquity situated on the edge of a small farming village in... more inside

Looking for help with carpentry at the moment. Come early spring we will need some good help with the biodynamic vegetable garden, the orchard and the medicinal herb garden. Carpentry, dry stone walling and house building skills are in demand all year around.
They tell me that the food is good, the ambience is peace and you will have plenty of time off to explore, read/write or make music.

The Isle of Lismore, one of the inner Hebridean islands in the West of Scotland, is green, filled with history, wild flowers and kind people. A great place to be. Though the weather can be wet and windy there are also glorious days when you truly would not want to be anywhere else in the world. We are Eva & Sebastian, a biodynamic farmer/homeopath/herbalist and an architect/builder. We have been building an eco house and creating an holistic farm from a derelict field. We have planted over 8000 trees, created a large biodynamic veg and medicinal herb garden, an orchard and put up a product... more inside

Update:i am looking for help for 1-3 weeks at a time starting March 2020 through to September 2020
----------------------
Hi I am looking for help on my organic allotment, planting, weeding and construction projects and general preparation for the summer.Clearing and preparing raised beds and creating paths and a patio area are the main priority. The area is 300 sq meters and is on a wonderful sunny slope.

I live in Sheffield with easy access to the Peak District both by public transport and car. It is an ideal location for anyone interested in climbing as the famous Stanedge Edge (see the picture below) is 20 minutes away. There is also indoor climbing centers within 10 minutes walk. The Peak District is ideal for other outdoor pursuits including hang-gliding, bouldering, mountain biking or general hiking. I am a keen walker myself and can give you some advice on trips and the local library can provide you with guide books and maps if necessary.

I am very flexible about le... more inside
