We are Katie and Dan. Katie mother/ gardener / creative arts therapist and Dan dad/ timber framer / engineer/ micro hydro boff; our 2 kids and Beth the dog.

We've been transforming a windswept field into our home, planting a native woodland and building an eco house here on the Moray coast. Its a stunning clear skied place with large sweeping beaches and forests nearby. Our neighbours / community are furniture makers and organic veg growers. For the wider community, we are ten minutes by car from the nearest town and also close to the Findhorn Foundation, an eco spiritual community where there are opportunities for mediation, dance, concerts, English as a foreign language tuition, talks, health, well-being and spiritual growth.

We've planted 2500 trees 4 seasons ago, hedges, started a garden, built timber sheds, put up a poly tunnel and made a veg garden. We've been busy and need help to sustain the pace! This year we plan to build our eco house.

Help would be wonder... more inside

This is an intentional community of about 40 people (adults and children) living in separate self-contained units within a Georgian manor house, stable block and cottages on 40 acres of land. We work the farm co-operatively with the aim of producing a substantial part of our food including meat, milk, eggs, fruit and vegetables.

Land includes 20 acres of pasture, 8 acres arable, 2 acre walled vegetable garden, a large Victorian greenhouse and polytunnels, an orchard, a small area of woodland and a lake and garden. We have dairy cows, goats and sheep as well as hens, bees and, sometimes, pigs. You may be working on just about any job on the farm: with the animals, gardening or on the grounds and buildings.

We generally host up to 3 volunteers for a fortnight at a time for general helping out about the farm and estate.

Accommodation is in shared rooms (sometimes private) with adjacent toilet and shower room. There is a large communal kitchen nearby for preparing meals and... more inside

Set in one and a half acres of gardens overlooking the Moray Firth, with a private path that leads down to the promenade and sandy beaches, the Invernairne is perfectly situated as a base while visiting the Highlands of Scotland.

In 1879 the locally famous Doctor Grigor chose this prime site on the West side of Nairn to build his Italian-inspired villa and now the current owners Ryan and Camilla look forward to welcoming you on your visit to the Highlands.

Whether you seek sea views and sandy beaches, dolphins and historic castles, or golf and whisky distilleries, choose the The Invernairne for your perfect trip to the Highlands of Scotland.

We are a fun-loving B&B both Ryan and I have traveled all over the world and we can help you plan for future travels from Everest to The Caminos. We have a 3 year old son Maximus who runs around organising keys and driving the lawn mower!

We require a minimum stay of one month.
POSITIONS AVAILIABLE FROM AS EARLY AS THIS WEEK!

This hillside farm property has been in the family since 1904. For the majority of this time the farm was a traditional dairy farm reliant on petrochemical fertilisers, feed supplements and red diesel. In August 2006 I (Ian) returned from working abroad to start a new business on the farm to prove small scale agriculture can be environmentally aware, promote biodiversity and remain viable in a difficult and competitive market such as food production.

Today:
• Operates an on farm butchery and bakery
• Is an employer both on the farm outside Oswestry, Shropshire where we look after the land, care for animals, run courses and make pies
• Is a real working farm with free range animals

The proceeds from these activities are re-invested by a Community Interest Company providing horticultural therapy projects for a wide range of local people. Engaged with local health authorities and local and regional HE colleges, the farm predominantly provides these projects to young adults... more inside

I am a single parent with 2 grown adults and a girl of secondary school age.
i run a small party decorating business and have a small general home and hardware store,

I am now in the process of equipping the shop

the wedding business is very interesting and demanding during the peak season of the year, because various wedding or party decorations jobs needs to be ready before taking them to venues.

This is very interesting but sometimes can be demanding due to other duties that needs to be done in the shop.

There are skills that can be learnt here which will be useful for knowing how to decorate for special occasions. how to design balloons and also how to arrange silk flowers and gain experience in customer service skills
you will also improve on English skills if this is needed

The person i am looking for must be a FEMALE that is very neat and clean

I am looking for someone who is willing to commit to at least a minimum of 2 weeks or more and also keep to th... more inside

We will be hosting Helpx again in 2020 from Spring to Autumn and we offer a double room with en-suite bathroom, plus meals, for 20 hours manual work per person per week, based on working 9.00 to 13.00 five days, so this will best suit robust individuals! We have about an acre of ground at home, plus we have another acre and a half 10 mins walk away. We especially enjoy gardening, both flowers and vegetables. We welcome help with garden work, such as outdoor painting, weeding, and mending. The work involves active jobs, such as cutting brambles and wood, moving manure, digging etc, so you need a reasonable level of mobility/fitness, and it is helpful (but not at all essential) if you are willing to use power tools, such as strimmer and mower! If you would like to join us for a while you will need working clothes and suitable outdoor working footwear, as we still work outside if the rain is not too heavy! However, if the weather is too bad to work outdoors, ordinary domestic jobs s... more inside

We grow vegetables, herbs, fruit and edible flowers for chefs and restaurants in London. We grow some British staples, and experiment with some more exotic varieties, so you’ll have a chance to learn about a wide range of vegetables.

We use regenerative farming practices to care for the land and the soil and aim to farm in harmony with nature. We have developed a weekly routine that works for our farm and our business. Volunteers live and eat with us, and join in for 6 hours a day ( for monday- friday, with the daily responsibilities of all the tasks that go with running a small but busy farm.

The farm is 7 miles away from Cambridge, easily accessible by bus which can pick you up from a minutes walk from the farm. We are biking and walking distance from the Linton, Abington and Hildersham which have a selection of shops, coffee shops, and pubs. We have bikes on the farm you are welcome to use.London is only a forty minute train ride from Cambridge. The area is good for wa... more inside
