Update : we are not looking for anyone before May :)

Hi everyone,

We are a young couple living in the beautiful region of Wanaka, between mountains and lakes. Our house is located 10/15 min drive from Wanaka, and 5 minutes from Lake Hawea, in the small community of Hawea Flat. There is plenty to do here : hiking, skiing, boating, fishing, skydiving... We live on a one acre property, with our cat Petra and our 3 chickens.

David is a kiwi and a very keen fly fisherman. I'm from France and like home-made stuff. We both love growing our own food, spending time outdoor and cooking. We have been helpers ourselves in France and in Canada, and now we are hosts!

You will be hosted in a nice double bedroom with your own bathroom, in our house and have 3 meals/day. In exchange, you will help out 4hours per day. We usually need help in the veggie garden or to renovate the house.
See you soon! :)

We are always open to other peoples culinary delights ie cooking for us.
The bus into Dunedin center is 15 minutes walk and the city center 15 minutes away.
We are close to a walk that gives amazing views over the city and environs - a bit up hill but well worth the climb . There are great mountain biking tracks and walking tracks close by.

Hi, we are a family with two children (age 5 and 7) that live on a sheep and beef farm in the Nenthorn Valley, about 30 minutes inland from Palmerston in Otago (South Island).

The month of February is looking a bit crazy as we try to juggle the many things going on with the farm, kids and Mums work (off-farm). We would be looking for someone that would be willing to help with the children, mainly from when they get home from school till they head to bed including preparing the evening meal on some evenings.

Ideally we are looking for someone from the 8th of February through to the 15th or 16th of February (weekend off) but could be from 7th till at least the 14th, with other dates available from the end of February.

We are located in the Nenthorn Valley which is semi-remote so you would need to have your own car to get out and explore the area over the weekend (Dunedin and Oamaru are about 1hr15min away, Queenstown is just under 3 hours) and to explore more locally on t... more inside

We are a young couple with a lovely 14 month old baby called Maggie. We are also lucky enough to have our awesome flatmates from last year and their baby living next door so we see a lot of them too. We live in a Dunedin, not far from town and one minute from the bus stop (the buses from here come every 15 minutes and every 30 minutes on weekends and evenings and take you straight to the beach via town.) We have bikes you could use too and you would also be able to borrow one of our cars. We are looking for someone who would be able mostly to help out with Maggie and do a little housework. Also help moving some stuff and doing some work in the garden. Between two and four hours a day. Ideally if we could find someone who could cook and/or talk to me and Maggie in French that would be a big bonus! If you think that you might enjoy staying with us don't hesitate to get in touch.

***...SORRY...we are not able to take helpers just now, please check back soon .... ***

We are developing a small nut and fruit orchard beside a small river in the beautiful Waitaki Valley. Working on making the whole thing a foraging food forest. Helpers can stay in a cosy and comfortable converted historic wagon and will be fed wholesome food in exchange for a variety of help depending on the season. This might include tree work (thinning, pruning, harvesting), garden work (digging, raised bed building, wheelbarrowing) orchard work (cutting grass, mulching, making composts) or general maintenance jobs. We love our dogs and hens and the abundant bird-life, that we encourage.
We ask for 4 hours' work in exchange for accommodation, 3 meals and unlimited internet.

Home with Organic garden, 10 minute bus ride from centre of city, or 45 min walk from our home with a view of the two "mountains" of Dunedin. A great base for travellers. Work will change depending on time of year or weather! Current work outside: tree/bush pruning/clipping/mulching/weeding/planting/restoring a neglected pathway, not heavy digging. Also starting to refresh paint around windows, and entrance way, so sanding and painting needing done. Inside work: wall painting preparation/painting, and wooden floor preparation for oiling. Inside/outside window cleaning :) Host practices living a fairly mindful life, interests including healthy discussions, qigong, music, movies, as well as quietness and community work. Home has 4 friendly cats who mostly live outside, but are keen for a pat sometimes! Can set up work according to weather, and make sure you get time to go exploring Dunedin as well :)

We are a family of 5 with chickens, a cat and dog. We live in a beautiful part of Central Otago with the lake a few minutes walk away. There is space to relax and vege gardens! We are looking for someone who would like to stay for a while to help us out with the kids, cooking, general gardening and maintenance and help around the property. It is really important that you are confident and have a great command of English. We especially need someone with experience with children and animals. We are offering a great place for you to enjoy whilst helping us look after our family and the property.
If this sounds of interest we would love to hear from you - please tell us about yourself and your skills and why you are here in NZ and how soon you can start. A car would also be of great benefit.
Please note that we only have enough space for one person right now. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks :-]

We have a project of restoring a Victorian Stables based in Oamaru and general maintenance of my historical property in Waimate.
Waimate a sweet rual New Zealand town. There are a lot of local bush walks of native New Zealand bush. There is a walk to a large stone horse and a beautiful walk called guns bush. There are beautiful botanical gardens and Mount Nimrod with amazing views.
Waimate is the gateway to the lakes in the Waitaki Valley and Mt Cook. It is a nice stop on your way to Dunedin as well.

Your accomodation would be in the historic villa in Waimate. There are two spacious rooms available both with a double bed. The house is a relaxing peaceful environment with an eclectic creative feel.

I am a trained English teacher and teach people who speak English as a second language. ESOL.
So i can help you with your English.

In exchange for accommodation and meals the main help i need is to help restore some historical stables near Oamaru, some physical strength woul... more inside
