Hi, I'm a self employed single mum with two lovely children (ages 9 & 7) who are educated at home. We have a fairly laidback and alternative lifestyle though I never have enough time to get everything done. I've recently set up my massage therapy business, which is stretching my time even more.

I'm looking for a non-smoking, energetic and enthusiastic helper who is happy to do whatever is needed around the house & garden for 4-5 hours a day. This could be anything, but is most likely to be doing the housework for me (cooking our evening meal, cleaning, laundry, etc) and hanging out with my kids. You'll need to be competent, flexible, happy to work on your own and enjoy the company of children!

In return you'll have accommodation in your own room and three meals a day. We eat a mixture of organic & non organic foods, some homemade and some shop-bought. We go on daytrips most weeks to explore the local area, which you'd be welcome to join us on. We have wifi you can use an... more inside

We have recently moved to a house and have done a fair amount of work but we’re looking for someone who is willing to help out in the garden with weeding, clearing etc as well as the odd job around the house.
We are a family of 6; 4 children aged 3yrs - 13yrs and are looking for someone to help us out for a couple of weeks over the next few months. We live in a small hamlet in Somerset with plenty of opportunity to explore the local countryside and practice English. We also have bikes that you could borrow. We also have 2 dogs, Milo and Elsie. We are about 25 minutes from the coast, and are 7 minutes from the local town/station. We look forward to sharing our home with someone who is up for a bit of everything, but mainly garden work, you will be part of the family and invited to join us for meals and you will have your own bedroom. We look forward to hearing from you, thanks Leni

The space here has evolved over the last 25 years from a collection of dilapidated farm buildings to what is now a hub of small scale organic farming, micro businesses and education.

There are always things going on here, from monthly markets to the little music festival we run.

We are looking for volunteers to help manage our organic walled garden which supplies an onsite cafe and any events here. As of 2015 the garden is a social enterprise in its own right and is just one part of a very unique set up where we aim to share our space to provide learning opportunities, responsible and interesting places for people to build their businesses, and unique homes for people to live. The heart of the place is the garden, it's where our food comes from and we aim to be in a position where the garden and what's growing determines our offering and events programme. This is a great opportunity to learn about permaculture, organics and sustainable living in a place where there is space ... more inside

We are looking for a happy, work friendly and adaptable person/couple to help with our eco-tourism project in this beautiful area of rural England. There's tidying of plant beds, helping with weeding, clearing woodland, some painting and odd jobs such as helping to clean , make beds and some veggie cooking. There's also some dog sitting/walking to do. So, practical skills and a good work ethic are essential. A nice, friendly (preferably veggie) person or couple who enjoy working proudly, keeping things tidy and a bit 'green-fingered' would be ideal. We warmly welcome our guests, so 'people skills' a must..
You must be keen to make an important contribution to our guests who enjoy the lovely 'Hermitage' experience.
Meeting and greeting guests and helping them to enjoy our wonderful 'paradise'.
A comfy apartment or room will be your home.

A very large rambling house, 100 years old. Large 3 acre garden set on hillside with views to mountains of North Pennines and Lake District. Great area for outdoor tourism with Hadrian's Wall and lakes nearby. Have wetsuits to lend you! Exceptional mountain biking.

Fruit bushes, orchard, and other fine plants and trees. All in need of care and preparation for spring.

Thanks to previous volunteers the house is now running successfully as a bed and breakfast and a weekend holiday let.

1 mile to a bus stop, 15 minutes drive to Carlisle train station. Quite isolated if you don't have your own transport. Bikes available.

I need help to paint interior and exterior and prepare gardens.

The hours would be spent out in the garden turning over beds and cutting back brambles, lawnmowing, path clearance, lighting fires, collecting wood and generally making property work and having fun.

I, Roland run the house full time. I have 5 children but none live at the house full t... more inside

We are very lucky to live on a farm in the beautiful Lake District, just on the edge of the National Park in Cumbria. The farm dates back to the late 1600's and it has been in our family for the last 100yrs. Over the years parts of it have been renovated and added to and some parts are looking very sorry for themselves!
My mother, myself, my sister and her 6yr old son live and work on the farm running a small bed & breakfast and equestrian business. We have big plans for the place in the future, however for now we could do with a little help with day-to-day tasks. We are on the outskirts of the lovely village of Cartmel which is home to a small racecourse, several very good restaurants and it is famous for it's Sticky Toffee Pudding. You can walk into the village from the farm in just under 20 minutes or a 2 minute drive and there is a local grocery store and several pubs where you can meet friendly locals and visitors from all over the world. The nearest town is Kendal which is a... more inside
