We are two artists who bought the farm in 2015. It is a small-holding nestled in a stunningly beautiful and secluded Welsh valley popular with cyclists and walkers, just 20mins drive/bus ride to the seaside university town of Aberystwyth, with its beaches, bars and restaurants. You can roam free in the surrounding ancient protected woodland, some acres of which, with two streams and a river, is part of our land. The main house is a converted 18th century stone hay barn adjacent to a traditional medieval Welsh longhouse and two stone and iron outbuildings, and now a 19th century Welsh chapel as well! Much sympathetic renovation has been done since we arrived, but there is much more to do! Help with gardening and building, especially stone walls and woodland management. We have begun to offer artists, musicians and writers residencies, and host workshops for a number of different disciplines, from chainsawing to meditation. We are making masses of compost, planting fruit trees, and... more inside

We run a beautiful boutique bunkhouse on the Isle of Skye, in the port village of Uig.

Couples welcome throughout the Summer, and food allowance of £70 per week for all volunteers from 1st April to 31st October!

There are gorgeous views of Uig bay and the sea through large windows which surround the main living and dining areas. A large wood burning stove and comfortable furniture give a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bunk beds themselves have been custom made to provide wonderful sleeping areas complete with individual lights.
Our location is ideal for exploring the North of Skye, with the Fairy Glen & Rha Falls only a short walk from the property.

We are looking for someone who has fantastic cleaning skills and an eye for detail, as well being friendly, sociable and welcoming to guests. We enjoy team dinners and interacting with each other, so someone who likes living fairly quietly surrounded by nature but also being sociable would really enjoy it here!

We run an estate providing facilities, accommodation and hospitality to focus groups, community organisations and creative courses. We look after pigs, horses, ducks, geese and chickens. Much of the work our volunteers do during their stay here is involved with gardening, building, clearing, woodland management, and tending the animals.

We maintain animals on a small holding level, and sustain a large garden, orchard and hoop greenhouse for producing our own fruit and vegetable crops.

Situated on a gorge at the foot of the Black Mountain South West Wales, our estate is in total 220 acres with fields and woodlands. We host many volunteers each year from different organisations. Our volunteers stay in their own cottage which they share with other volunteers, we provide all the basic food essentials.

We have a 2.4 acre plot of land with 3 small homes on it serving 3 generations of my family. The grandparents are in a wooden cabin whilst my sister with her family and myself, my partner and two children live in our converted vehicles.

We live completely off grid, keep a small amount of livestock, produce as much food as we can and believe that everything must have multiple uses.
We are all passionate gardeners and this reflects in how we use and have designed the layout of the land.

Between us we have a multiple skill pool including Carpentry, Welding, Mechanics, Stain Glass, Saxophinist, Horticulture, Garden Design,Farmer, producing awesome if not moody children and all of us have the creative and excited gene in abundence.
All of us excepting the grand parents have worked and still work at events and festivals throughout the summer season so all enjoy the banter and commeradery that comes from working in a team.

We are looking for skilled or at least commited workers... more inside

We have a 3 acre small holding. It was a bare field when we bought it. Over the past 6 years we have been developing and planting it up. On the land we have raised beds and a polytunnel which we currently use to be self sufficient in organic vegetables. We have projects to plant a coppice for firewood, and develop a wildlife lake area. We want to develop and manage the field in a way that will encourage wildlife to return to what was an intensively farmed field for many years. We are situated a 10-15 minute walk from a beautiful beach. We have a small caravan (with a double sized bed) which we can offer as accomodation. It has a kitchen area and a shower room which doesn't haven a running shower, but we have a pump action shower which you can use in there. A bit basic but we lived with it for years :) We also have space for people to pitch tents or park campervans if you prefer. We have a compost toilet that guests can use. In return for 4 hours help we would offer DIY breakfasts an... more inside

Hello prospective HelpXers,

We are currently looking for one or two helpers for between 5 and 6 weeks from around the 9th February until 18th/19th March.

The work is mainly on the farm, which is simple work of feeding and watering the animals and chickens (plus the ducks) and milking two of our goats.....

If the weather is good (and not too hot) there are outside jobs of gardening and landscaping the kitchen garden.

In exchange for all of this we will supply good food, a lot of conversation and a good sprinkling of laughter!

So if you are interested in what I have written above, please let me know as soon as possible as we need to fill our vacancy.

* * * * * *

Please read.....

We do like our helpers to stay 3 weeks (or more) - This is because we have a lot to teach new helpers and this takes time. The first 3 - 4 days we would be working with you and then you would need 2 days off, so that is the first week gone....

**WARM** clothes (even in summer it can... more inside

We are looking for help from July onwards on a busy estate in the beautiful Scottish Borders, on the River Tweed, running self catering accommodation, a historic building that hosts events, a picture framing studio and with a walled garden that we are re-establishing after decades of non-use. Volunteers will have accommodation in a charming cottage, with all food provided (meals will be cooked for you a few times a week, and otherwise you will self cater). We ask for 25 hours per week, which can be flexible, but may well include weekends. Jobs can be anything from gardening, to housework, holiday let changeovers, picture framing, laundry, ironing, decorating, driving, logs, dog walking, and helping with events. There are opportunities to earn cash from time to time. A car is available for use and Edinburgh is an hour's bus trip away. A minimum of 3 months is preferred, but shorter stays are possible. Driving licence and basic english required.

I am looking for volunteers this Spring and part of the summer thank you. It's mainly gardening but also some general maintenance. I take 1 or 2 people for anywhere up to 2 weeks and look forward to hearing from you if you are free.
My mother and I both live at Morfa Isaf, a coastal farm in a beautiful secluded part of west Wales. The Ceredigion footpath runs through our farm leading to the most glorious private beach. The views and serenity here have to be witnessed.
We have cows on the premises for many months of the year but rent the land out so have nothing to do with the running of the place.
My mother has gone into retirement (at home) leaving me to run the bed and breakfast and rental cottages outside and although we rent the land out, there is still a wealth to do around the farm which must be done by us, general maintenance, a lot of gardening, painting sometimes in the house during quiet months.

I now want to focus my time on finishing off a 3 year college course... more inside
