We are a couple from Cornwall who are helping to run the family's small holding. We are fun loving, hard working individuals who are enjoying implementing Permaculture designed buildings, allotment, polytunnel, animal areas, forest garden and ponds. We have a large variety of projects on the go from building sheds to 12v solar/wind systems and rocket mass heaters to apple tree guilds. We are interested in planting edible/medicinal plants and already have some on the go ready to harvest for tintures! Our work varies between building, gardening, animals and holiday lets. Exciting :)
Nick normally works full-time at home finishing and experimenting with new ideas whilst Rosie works full-time as a primary school teacher.
Nicks family also live at home, so there's always lots going on and we often eat communally :)

Accommodation is in a cosy caravan with a beautiful view, surrounded by trees.
Our key aim is to put projects in place and then educate about the many benefits of l... more inside

We are a holistic retreat centre near Glastonbury hosting groups from 20 to 50 people for meditation, yoga, healing...

We require help with laundry, cleaning, tidying in the kitchen, gardening, and some other tasks such as general maintenance, painting.

We offer a done up caravan, electricity and heating and use of our staff room with internet and DVD's. We usually ask the volunteers to take their meals (vegetarian) from the main kitchen and sometimes self catering at lunch time, raw materials provided when there's no group.

We are also always looking for carpenters or diy skills.

We are not an intentional community although there are 11 people living here.
Please no pets, no children.
Smoke outside the room.
There is only one pub with a small shop in the village otherwise it is very quiet.
We are 10min by car from Glastonbury. There is a bus to town or lifts with one of us. Bikes available.

This mixed hill farm is home to 16 cows, a bull, two goats, a large flock of sheep ,bees, poultry, ducks, five cats and two dogs with their two owners and quite a lot of wildlife. The farm is certified organic/biodynamic. We use Biodynamic methods, have no machinery and work hard to try to grow vegetables, shiitake and fruit at 650` on a south facing hill in a glorious area of South West Scotland. We welcome non-smoking meat eating or vegetarian help. We are far from shops and transport, quiet - a great place to watch the stars!

There is always a lot to do and we need help now! If you would like to help us with our Biodynamic Preparations you would learn aabout what and why we do! We hope to plant some more fruit trees and generally tidy up after a very wet winter. We have some recycled timber which we would love to turn into duck and/or hen houses and there is always fencing to renovate or dykes to repair!

We welcome people who like to get `stuck in`. Right n... more inside

I own a large self contained unit within a co-housing community on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon. We own about 2.5 hectares of beautiful land, with orchard, swimming pool, tennis court and other amenities. Some of us have our own organic vegetable plots.

I would like one or two volunteers (non-smokers please) to help with a variety of jobs, mostly gardening work on my vegetable plot or other outside tasks, or sometimes helping with practical jobs indoors such as decorating or cleaning.

In exchange for accommodation and meals, I would like approx 4-5 hours' work per day, which can be organised flexibly according to our respective needs.

You will have your own comfortable bedroom (or shared with another Helpx volunteer, if agreed). There is plenty of good quality fresh food to which you can help yourself for breakfast and lunch, and a cooked meal in the evening. I am mostly vegetarian and can cater for other diets by arrangement.

I can offer some help with English i... more inside

ANYONE LOOKING FOR A CHALLENGE?

WE WANT TO RENOVATE A POTTING SHED INTO A BOTHY. HELP WOULD BE AMAZING....do you have any carpentry or building skills?....and once we get the Building Warrant ( I hope in late winter/early Spring) we will be starting to build a fairly eco house made from our own home-grown and home-processed timber....and insulated with hempcrete.

We live in the lowland hills of S Scotland, in a stunningly beautiful, wooded valley with the River Whiteadder flowing along it.

Work will be very varied depending on the time of year, the weather, and your skills.
It could include varied gardening jobs, picking black currants, raspberries and strawberries for eating/drying/freezing/making wine and cordial for the winter, helping in the sawmill, weeding baby trees or pruning, painting walls if it is raining or window frames if it is sunny, chain sawing in the forest (if you have experience), helping build the house (once we get permission to start), strimming,... more inside

Croft 17 is located just a short walk away from Singing Sands beach on the NW side of Eigg with wonderful views of the Isle of Rum. I live on the croft with my teenage son who is at High School in Mallaig. I am skipper and owner of sailing charter yacht and am away during much of the season

The croft has currently 26 sheep, 9 chickens, and a cat. There is also a polytunnel and garden where we grow veggies for ourselves and the yacht charter. My croft is currently in the developmental stages towards becoming a working croft designed around permaculture principles including mixed woodland, forest garden, pasture.
Longterm building projects include a house, a barn and a wellbeing/yoga space. Volunteer tasks involve maintaining the croft in its current state and participating in bigger projects to attain the vision. Day to day tasks involve looking after the animals, working in the polytunnel/garden, cooking, cleaning, and general maintenance. Larger tasks involve building a... more inside
