We are a family of 5 with chickens, a cat and dog. We live in a beautiful part of Central Otago with the lake a few minutes walk away. There is space to relax and vege gardens! We are looking for someone who would like to stay for a while to help us out with the kids, cooking, general gardening and maintenance and help around the property. It is really important that you are confident and have a great command of English. We especially need someone with experience with children and animals. We are offering a great place for you to enjoy whilst helping us look after our family and the property.
If this sounds of interest we would love to hear from you - please tell us about yourself and your skills and why you are here in NZ and how soon you can start. A car would also be of great benefit.
Please note that we only have enough space for one person right now. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks :-]

We have a project of restoring a Victorian Stables based in Oamaru and general maintenance of my historical property in Waimate.
Waimate a sweet rual New Zealand town. There are a lot of local bush walks of native New Zealand bush. There is a walk to a large stone horse and a beautiful walk called guns bush. There are beautiful botanical gardens and Mount Nimrod with amazing views.
Waimate is the gateway to the lakes in the Waitaki Valley and Mt Cook. It is a nice stop on your way to Dunedin as well.

Your accomodation would be in the historic villa in Waimate. There are two spacious rooms available both with a double bed. The house is a relaxing peaceful environment with an eclectic creative feel.

I am a trained English teacher and teach people who speak English as a second language. ESOL.
So i can help you with your English.

In exchange for accommodation and meals the main help i need is to help restore some historical stables near Oamaru, some physical strength woul... more inside

Hi! Looking for some helpers to come and stay at our vineyard in the Waitaki Valley, 45 mins drive inland from Oamaru. We have a lot of things we need some extra hands for-vineyard jobs, painting, gardening and maybe childcare (we have 2 girls aged 7 and 9)
Your accomodation will be in a sleep out near our house which has a comfy king sized bed, kitchen and bathroom. The town of Kurow is about 10 mins drive away and has a small grocery shop, garage, etc.
In exchange for accomodation and meals we ask for around 5 hours work.
Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo are approx 1.5 hour drive away. Also in the area is Maori rock art, lakes, rivers and mountains for swimming, picnicking and exploring.
It's better if you have own transport as there is no public transport in our area.
Look forward to hearing from any keen helpers out there! Tim and Ella

We are looking for a wonderful helper/au pair from 8th January to spend some time with us in beautiful Lake Hawea. We have enjoyed many great times sharing our home with helpers this year who have been able to assist with gardening, cooking, cleaning and some au pair work. We also have two children (and a brand new kitten) so you must enjoy animals and kids.

You will be required to help a little each day in exchange for meals and accommodation in your own sleep out (toilet and bathroom facilities shared). We are located 15 mins drive from Wanaka on the shores of Lake Hawea SO HAVING YOUR OWN VEHICLE IS HELPFUL - you can come and go to Wanaka as you please.

A bit about us - We are a young family (2 kids, aged 9 and 6) who live on a farm on the shores of beautiful Lake Hawea. My husband works for his family on a high country merino station. There are ample opportunities for hiking, biking and trail running on our property and surrounding areas. We are an active famil... more inside

Come for a week to help me maintain my lovely old holiday crib. It has been in the family for 6 generations and is in need of boards replaced (This requires a degree of carpentary skill) and a jolly good painting.(Novice painters ok)

Not for those afraid of creatures like possums that may sleep in the wall, spiders or a long drop loo (toilet outside over a deep hole,no flushing)

Set on a wild beach with seals, sea birds sealions and amazing walks along the rocky coast to Cook Rock or to swim at Bull Creek (1/2hour walks)and a lagoon with native birds and old native bush.
SO QUIET...possibly 2 cars day on road yet only 15 min from Milton and 1 hour south of Dunedin . Ness will feed you for the week but bring along a bottle to share at night.
(Can bring camper van)

As it outside work there is a pressure on to achieve as much as possible and this is weather dependent Otago days are long and if we can work together to replace boards the painting work can be started and t... more inside
