We are young-at-heart retirees from the viticulture world. We love good food, wine, music and conversation. We now have a small (4 acre), rural property in the foothills of the Strathbogies [15 minutes to Yea and 25 minutes to Seymour].
We are primarily looking for experienced help with a couple of building projects and gardening. We need help to complete a masonry retaining wall, external stairs or ramp, garden and vineyard maintenance and landscaping.
We are interested in Permaculture and have planted a small vineyard and orchard, and we are just about to set up our wicking garden beds for veggies. You might like to help us do that :-).
As owner-builders, we have reached the stage where we can offer decent accommodation and food in return for 4 hours of work a day. We have just finished the downstairs, self-contained guest accommodation (see photos) so you should be quite comfortable. Help yourself breakfast and lunch, shared evening meal; we provide all the food. One rule -... more inside

Please note photos are not current to Brighton which is not directly on the water. This is on the to-do list. The old house pictured from Altona, however, is not too different from the new house in Brighton East. To keep it simple there are two properties where I or you may stay in Parkville, VIC and now a new house in Brighton East.

"Morrah Morrah" Small Central Parkville Guest House in need of help for looking after bedroom preparation for arriving guests and help with light cleaning, trash, kitchens, bathrooms, side projects et al.

We are setting up in Brighton East where we may also have guests.

I can also give you a contribution for groceries if you'd like to cook for more than one person.

For short stays there is no routine full time labor, rather chores might include weeding or mowing the lawn or washing the windows or even taking the bus to kmart to get weed killer if I've forgotten it or being here to welcome paying guests (e.g. through airbnb).

MARC & ALEJANDRA

We are Alejandra and Marc, a couple with complementary skills and abilities guided by their similar values and vocation.

Marc was born in the Catalan Pyrenees, in the land of the Ceretani, a branch of the Iberians. Alejandra was born in Entre Rios (between rivers), a province in center-east Argentina.

Nowadays, we live:
- part time in Australia, in the land of the Gunaikurnai, an aboriginal nation of the Australian South-east;
- part time in Argentina, in a land whose ancestors where the Comechingón, an Indigenous tribe of the center-west Argentina
- other locations of the world (mainly in the Southern Hemisphere)

These three places (Argentina, Australia and Catalonia) constitute three corners of Earth. This tells us that, alongside with the connection to our ancestral lands, we need to extend our arms to embrace as much diversity as possible; perhaps, by living between these locations, we are trying to embrace the whole planet.

We also love to travel and enjoy different cultures. Rick enjoys communicating in Spanish after spending a year in his youth in South America.

We're currently looking for 2-4 people to help get our camp looking beautiful for Summer. There is some hard manual labour but our place is amazing and beautiful so it will be worth it!!!

On weekends and school holidays we are a tourism business offering Treetop Adventures, Mountain Biking and much more. During school terms we are a School camp offering programs and activities for all sorts of groups around the Melbourne area, but mainly for school groups. We are in Kinglake West, about 1 hour from Melbourne. The air is fresh, the water is pure, the food is delicious and the staff are super friendly! And then there's the wildlife....A great place to base yourself to explore the Victorian High Country and the Yarra Valley.

But before we get to that, there are a few things that we were hoping HelpXers might lend a hand with. At the moment there's a lot to do, including cleaning, gardening, landscaping, painting and much more! In exchange for your efforts there will of course ... more inside

We used to live on a sheep and cropping farm near the Grampians (in western Victoria about 3.5 hours from Melbourne ) 8km east of Cavendish, a small village. We have hosted helpers there for over a decade and enjoyed meeting new travelers. Our son now manages the farm and we have moved nearer the coast and have a large house 10 minutes from the beach on the Bellarine peninsular 15 minutes from Geelong, about an hour and a half from Melbourne. I am really looking for help around the home, garden/vege garden, general cleaning, domestic/handyman, and painting would be an asset, (4 hours work)in return for board and meals. We are an older couple but not too boring, we have 3 children in their 30's who keep us in the 21st century!!!. You would have your own room and bathroom and you would be part of the family. We would prefer a single person or a couple..... We can collect you from Geelong. I would anticipate about a weeks stay would be a good option. You can explore the area while y... more inside

Hi we have 2 scool aged kids which think they are dragons and quite often swing from the rafters trying to fly . I get called out on jobs at the last minute for a few hours . I work from home so does my husband. Although quite often on the road as we are film makers/ photographers. We need babysitting help and general tidying up . Our house is located in Cottlesbridge. We are surrounded by kangaroos, echidnas and kookaburras and ringtail possums. Ten minute drive to the train station . We are also near some beautiful swimming spots and you can use one of our cars if you like . We are all really relaxed and definitely not strict about hours with help we want you to enjoy your stay there is a spare room or a loft that is also a lovely space to sleep with the coonara fire underneath. Quite often my people have come on jobs with me to give them a different perspective of work life in Australia and those experiences have been invaluable as the work is very interesting at times.

We have a welcoming home on 120 acres in the heart of the Yarra Valley with beautiful views. We have three children, Darcy 13, Maya 11 and Jade 9, and many animals.
We would love travellers to come and share our home and help us with our daily tasks inside and outside. Duties would include washing, cleaning, cooking and outside chores.
