This is a family owned holiday accommodation business located on the river mouth of Scamander on the sunny East Coast of Tasmania. Situated between St Helens and St Mary's.
The work mostly includes making beds, a bit of cleaning, some laundry work, general maintenance around the property & gardening. Some help to prepare lunch and/or dinner will also be greatly appreciated.
Would prefer helpers with some similar work experience, or at least keen to learn. There will definitely be work over weekends, so days off (1-2) are usually during the week. It would be great if you could stay at least 10 days.
Due to the location of the business and type of work, it would be best suited for couples or 2 friends traveling together. (However, single helpers will not be excluded). Having your own transport will be very helpful if you want to explore the area.
Most of the work is done between 9.00am and 2.00pm. Once the day's work is complete, you are free to explore the area and do your ow... more inside

Our flower farm is overlooking the Huon Estuary located 8km from Cygnet. The farm is half pasture and half bushland. There are 3 dogs, 2 cats, chickens, 2 horses and beef cattle to look after as well as approximately 2ha of flowering plants. The farm is quite secluded and a very peaceful environment. Accommodation is self contained and it is helpful if people can cook for themselves food provided or otherwise negotiated. So animal friendly people are very welcome.

Hi, We are a family of four from Tasmania, Australia. We have two girls; Ivy aged 7, and Pepper 3. The girls both love the outdoors, reading books, art and craft, playing imaginary games and going to the park. Tasmania is the perfect place to bring up children, surrounded by water, you are never far from the beach, or bush. Hobart is located under the beautiful mount wellington where there are many walking and mountain biking tracks, it is also located on the River Derwent, where there are now lots of things to see/do around the waterfront. We live a close 10mins drive away from the city, beside a peaceful reserve with great walking tracks.

We would like an au pair to join our family to help us mind our children while we are at work. I am a viticulturist/ winemaker and starting around March I will be very busy during the vintage period (working long hours 6 days a week) for approximately 8-12 weeks. My husband Patrick is a chef and works nights Wednesday- Sunday. We need an au pa... more inside

We are a family, located in central Launceston. We have a warm and sunny house, with a nice verandah to sit and enjoy the view over Cataract Gorge. The garden is large, organic and needing lots of attention. Help is needed with weeding, pruning, planting, chicken care, garden bed preparation etc. Cleaning/ painting/ house maintenance is also needed. We have two very active dogs who also love to be walked. We are located within walking distance to the city, so it is easy to do sight-seeing whilst staying with us. Cataract Gorge is only a 5 min walk from our home and there is good walking, nice restaurants, cafes and a chairlift, and in summer it is lovely to swim there.

Our household is busy and we are always getting on with life activities - sporting events, school homework, work and caring for the garden, guinea pigs and chickens. We don't watch much TV, but you are welcome to use our high speed internet, play board games, listen to music etc. We have nice friends and interesti... more inside

Hi, I am a young father living on the end of the earth trying to live sustainably and create a little haven. There is a little chalet with a double bed in it for guests plus a caravan that 'could be' self contained that sleeps 4. There is an organic compost toilet so not for the squeamish but otherwise quite comfortable. It is close to the beach (15min walk) and there is lots to do and see around the Island if you have a car.
I am happy to show people around when I'm not too busy but would be great if you are independent.

If you bring food and help with household stuff (cleaning after yourself) you are welcome to just come and stay for short periods.. im on couchsurfing too.

I have 4 chooks, a dog and lots of wildlife. I like having dinner with friends, gardening, drinking homebrew beer, listening to music, and generally having fun..

Things that I'm into at the moment and am happy to teach/learn as best I can are... Making bio diesel. Gardening. Building. Making beer. ... more inside

Our beautiful 6 acre property is located 20 minutes south of Hobart at the top of North West Bay. We have a caravan for our Helpx guests that is very cosy and fully self contained. Past Helpx guests helped us build an outdoors fire bath which we are sure you will love! Getting here is easy on public transport. There may be times we can pick you up too.
We have a collection of chickens and a large vegetable garden. Our property attracts an abundance of native wildlife including wallabies, possums, echidnas, quolls, tassie devils, bandicoots, potoroos, a diverse range of birds and the occasional platypus.
We are looking for non-smoking helpers to assist us around our property with jobs including weeding, mulching, planting, maintaining and extending our edible gardens, landscaping and getting some general home maintenance jobs done such as painting.
We really enjoy meeting people, playing music, gardening, bushwalking, hitting the beach, camping and sharing meals with friends. We... more inside
