ABOUT US:

We have been working on renovating our dream home for nearly 3 months. It is currently a derelict farmhouse in a stunningly beautiful, isolated setting in North Devon. We are a family made up of me, Jasmine, my partner, Ben, our two daughters, Keeva and Tulip and my mum, Siobhan.

Ben's a builder. He loves using traditional building techniques and is enjoying using his skills to build our home. Ben surfs at our local beaches whenever the conditions are good (which is regularly at the moment), he's getting into brewing beer, and is a laid back, easy going man to hang out with. Having said that, Ben is totally focused on our renovation project and is working on it 5 full days a week. We'd love someone to join Ben in enthusiastically getting involved with the build. Someone to help with the heavy lifting jobs, a labourer, help with the less skilled jobs, unless you have experience in building work - then we'd really appreciate your skills and knowledge - someone who eit... more inside

Hi, we’re Beth and Dan, a pair of greying veggies (omnivores welcome!) and we live with 2 part-time children (age 8 & 11), 3 dogs, 1 horse, 3 ponies and 8 hens in a large 4 bedroom, c17th house (building site) with a walled garden on the edge of Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. We live a fairly rustic lifestyle, usually muddy and keen to start making cider in our cellar.

We need help with the gardening, vegetable plots, animals and numerous building & restoration projects in the house and outside. If you have any skills in building, carpentry, painting & decorating, we could really use them right now. In return you'll have your own room, TV and wifi and be well fed.

You will need to be happy & able to help, like hard work & have a good dash of common sense. Either a single person or a couple is welcome, your room has 2 single beds and a double. We run a liberal household, are proud Europeans and welcome you to the UK, the only no-no is smoking so non-smokers only!

We’ve got l... more inside

I am a retired English teacher with an interest in all things organic. I live with my husband Richard who is a computer manager, and our newest family member, a rather naughty little puppy.
We have built a straw bale house in our garden, We keep bees and run a Community Orchard. We are looking for help with our garden,, cutting hedges and weeding, and help with our grandchildren, aged 4 and 6.
WeI will help the volunteer to improve their English, and you have a nice bedroom and bathroom and good food which is mainly vegetarian.
We have an internationally renowned Art Gallery in Wakefield, a wonderful Sculpture Park, and the University city of Leeds is 20 minutes away on the train.

We also have a seaside apartmen very close to a surfing beach, which you can see in the photos. The first photo shows our Wakefield garden.

Our helpers have all been amazing, and we really enjoy the experience; we hope you will too!

We run a small yurt camp site, with 4 Yurts and a Shepherd`s Hut. We have really enjoyed welcoming 5 HelpX people and are now looking for a helper who can help us put the yurts up and furnished at the start of the season, from mid/late February for about 4 weeks. During this period we also have some painting work to do (inside and outside our renovated barn) and landscaping work to do in the meadow, around the garden and maintaining the farm buildings. We can help if you want to learn more about basic carpentry and painting skills, and landscaping/gardening for wildlife.
We're a "Green" environmentally award winning site, running for 9 years and we also have a "green" approach to our house, with solar pv and solar panels for hot water, as well as a wood pellet boiler. Whilst not registered organic, we have an organic sensibility and don`t use any chemicals on the land or on site.

This meditation centre is set in 38 acres of beautiful Derbyshire park land. Many visitors come here to enjoy the grounds, meditation room, café and shop. The Centre promotes the development of inner peace, compassion and wisdom.

If you are interested, while you are with us, you will be able to attend our meditation classes and courses for free where these do not conflict with the working day (we have several evening classes and lunchtime meditations).

Whilst you are here you can enjoy volunteering in the Vegetarian Café, grounds, kitchen, doing some decorating, building and other activities.
We have people living and volunteering from all over the world here. It is a warm and vibrant place with plenty of opportunity to make friends and learn new skills.

In return for 5-6 hours working per day, we offer accommodation (male and female dormitory) and food.

As a Buddhist community, we ask that you abide by our philosophy whilst in the Centre which means abstaining from... more inside

We are renovating our old cottage and garden in a small village on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border. We are 20 minutes by train from famous historic Cambridge where you can go punting (see photo) and sightseeing. We are 5km from Newmarket where you can see the horses training or racing and we are also near historic Bury St Edmunds and Norwich. We are artists as well as gardeners and enjoy cooking and meeting people. In exchange for 4-5 hours a day with weekends free, we can offer accommodation, food, and transport if needed to and from local areas of interest or the train station. We are gluten -free vegetarian/vegan but happy to provide non vegetarian food and are quite experienced at cooking around our own food intolerances so can accommodate this too. This summer we are looking for help with manual labouring work on the cottage renovations and decorating and plastering - some modern plastering but also repairing some lime plastering.
