Dairy and beef farm located in the lovely North Kerry, close to the coast. I run the farm by myself with occasional help from my dad. I currently milk 50 cows for local production and I have 40 dry cattle. With the upcoming calving season - the two main tasks during this time are feeding the calves and helping with calving cows. Prior experience in this area would be good but I am happy to teach you the ropes also. If there is anything you would rather not do, that is OK too. I hope that you are comfortable in this experience and that you have an opportunity to learn new skills. You will be staying with me and my dog in a 3 bed house beside the farm. Meals will be provided or if you wish to do your own cooking, that is OK too. The house has central heating and wifi.

About me: I am a 36 year old full time farmer and part time actor (in the local theater). Apart from drama, I go swimming in the local pool everyday and love learning from other peoples' experiences.

We are a family of 4 including two children. We live on a farm that 60% percent of the land is not agriculturally productive but supports a diversity of native species. Also we invite/expect volunteers to come to Cork to a farm shop/cafe where they can help to promote our ideas of sustainability and biodiversity by also interacting with customers and improving their English skills. They can also learn how to make good organic, artisan, Rainforest-Alliance approved coffee. We have been hosting volunteers for twenty three years now continuously when we started with an international group of volunteers who planted a peace forest as an anti-Gulf War statement, organised through a peace effort that have been campaigning on anti-war movements since 1921. Our house is a historical landmark with special focus on environmental awareness, sustainability and intercultural exchange promoting peace and unity amongst all races, creeds and nations. We have a strong commitment to share these values... more inside

We are a family with three children, aged 6, 11 and 14, originally from Germany and America. We recently moved onto a beautifully situated 46 acres site where we are in the process to establish a farm, garden and a respite care house for people with special needs. We have 9 alpacas, 2 goats, 36 sheep, 7 chickens and 5 cats.
We will gradually introducing bio-dynamic methods to the garden and farm. We are in the process of building a new house and are hoping to landscape a disused quarry.
Visitors will stay in a caravan, which can accommodate a small family. You can join us for the meals, which are vegetarian or cook for yourself in the caravan.
We need help with caring for the animals, fencing, shed building, making a playground , tree planting, wool processing and soon with building work and gardening. We also would appreciate if you can once in a while take care of children.
Particular in summer there is a rich cultural life in the area with several traditional music events.

I live in a small town on the Iveragh Penninsula in the South West of Ireland on the Ring of Kerry, quiet in Winter but socially busy in Summer, lively pub and Traditional Music scene.
Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty close to Valentia Island and 'The Skelligs', great for hill walkers and anyone who enjoys the outdoor lifestyle.
I am looking for helpers for household tasks including clearing an Attic & sheds / some gardening work and general maintenance in exchange for a double room and Meals.
Interesting cultural exchanges always welcome in the bleak Mid Winter.

We have an old house where we also offer a space for writer's to retreat and work. We do some bed and breakfast in summer. We re 3 miles outside Westport town in the West of Ireland. We're in the countryside but Westport is a vibrant town for arts crafts music and adventure sports. I am looking for help

1. to do a big "springclean" (or should I say NewYear clean out) in the house;

2. To clear old growth away in the rambling gardens.
Our house and garden are over 150 years old. For a number of reasons I'm not really able to do the heavy gardening work I love but would still love a garden! There are many digging and clearing jobs to be done.

3.Small painting jobs inside and outside would also be appreciated if the other work is completed.

There isn't a bus service but I'm happy to take people into town whenever I can. I'd look for 4 hours work a day (20 hours a week) in return for bed and board.
We have a wooden cabin set in its own wild garden which has a dou... more inside
