Our beautiful 6 acre property is located 20 minutes south of Hobart at the top of North West Bay. We have a caravan for our Helpx guests that is very cosy and fully self contained. Past Helpx guests helped us build an outdoors fire bath which we are sure you will love! Getting here is easy on public transport. There may be times we can pick you up too.
We have a collection of chickens and a large vegetable garden. Our property attracts an abundance of native wildlife including wallabies, possums, echidnas, quolls, tassie devils, bandicoots, potoroos, a diverse range of birds and the occasional platypus.
We are looking for non-smoking helpers to assist us around our property with jobs including weeding, mulching, planting, maintaining and extending our edible gardens, landscaping and getting some general home maintenance jobs done such as painting.
We really enjoy meeting people, playing music, gardening, bushwalking, hitting the beach, camping and sharing meals with friends. We... more inside

I've bitten off more than I can chew! Been in residence 2.5 years and got the bones of a self-sufficient garden in place but need help with day to day maintenance and some renovations. My ideal is to reuse materials, grow food and live lightly on the earth.
Help in the garden and in converting a HUGE old shed would be very welcome. I live near the ferry at Devonport at the mouth of a river and close to a beach.
There is a queen bedroom and a caravan available for sleeping (shared bathroom in main house) but there is a camping loo at the caravan...your choice. Kitchen shared in house or a camp kitchen + fridge is possible in the van. Interests: arts and travel etc. No drugs or cigarettes please (strict).

Searching for 1 or 2 people who can assist in the management of our farm so my husband and I can have a holiday. My sister will be in residence in our absence. The main tasks would include feeding and ensure the well-being of around 200 fowls - egg collecting, cleaning and packing.
Accommodation is within the main house with family (own bedroom), access to all necessary facilities and family meals.
We have about 1500 blueberry bushes. The fruit is harvested in January/February. Our farm is a 5 minute drive from several beaches.

We have room available now! Its a great place to stay, We have a beautiful house in a big garden (just under an acre) full of fruit trees, vegie garden, lots of native and exotic trees, pizza oven and outdoor bath. We are situated 10 min from Hobart and on main bus route to Hobart, or in the opposite direction five min drive or bus ride to Kingston beach. We can accommodate one or two people in a studio room separate to the main house which is warm and private with a great view. We have two young kids (8 and 2) and lots of creative energy but not enough hands to do all the gardening we want to! Its mostly gardening we need help with, especially weeding and digging, but building skills would be really useful, housework is always appreciated and spending time with the kids would also help. our vision is of a permaculture paradise complete with medicine herb garden, and we need some help to get there. We enjoy cooking delicious nourishing food, cups of tea and homebrew. We can only acc... more inside
