We are a couple from Cornwall who are helping to run the family's small holding. We are fun loving, hard working individuals who are enjoying implementing Permaculture designed buildings, allotment, polytunnel, animal areas, forest garden and ponds. We have a large variety of projects on the go from building sheds to 12v solar/wind systems and rocket mass heaters to apple tree guilds. We are interested in planting edible/medicinal plants and already have some on the go ready to harvest for tintures! Our work varies between building, gardening, animals and holiday lets. Exciting :)
Nick normally works full-time at home finishing and experimenting with new ideas whilst Rosie works full-time as a primary school teacher.
Nicks family also live at home, so there's always lots going on and we often eat communally :)

Accommodation is in a cosy caravan with a beautiful view, surrounded by trees.
Our key aim is to put projects in place and then educate about the many benefits of l... more inside

We are an elderly couple who have "downsized" to a new place, faced with a wild and untidy garden.Sadly Ranald has Alzheimers and recently had a stroke, and so I spend a lot of time helping him.Help needed to tidy up, redesign for easier maintenance, remove old tree roots, chip wood for paths, plant trees, cut and chop firewood. Saw and axe skills useful. Lots of wheelbarrowing!
There are indoor jobs in house, shed and garage if weather is too wet, and Ranald appreciates company.
Helper to live as family. We are omnivorous, non smoking, and enjoy a glass of wine. We are widely travelled and enjoy meeting new people. Our house is in quiet rural woodland, about 1km from bus route into Inverness. Helper is offered a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom. We have a border collie who loves walks as well.

Our farm is located in the Middle of North Wales, next to Snowdonia.
A low carbon vegan off grid stockfree Agroforestry Forest Garden Farm orchard of 7 acres in the highlands of Central North Wales at 1,000 ft altitude. Started 1997, in our apple and pear breeding program since the year 2000 we have developed 28 of our own varieties of apples and 7 of our own varieties of pears. Also our own variety of Hazel. We grow Robert Harts original Blackcurrants and Redcurrants that we received from him as cuttings. We operate a Forest garden nursery on a gift economy basis supplying the choicest and most abundantly fruiting and local varieties.

Harry Mather, Robert Hart, Dick Kitto and Kathleen Jannaway were among the founder members of this 90's pioneering reducing the cost of living transition to moneyless gift economy cooperative. We have Robert Harts redcurrant bushes and blackcurrants growing here and supply them from the nursery.

We're taking a short break from hosting as it's pretty chilly in the winter and the volunteer accomodation isn't very warm. Back for Spring 2020 though!

We are looking for short & long term help, either with farm or building work or a mix depending on your preference & experience.

We are a 20 acre family croft in a quiet location where we like help with a wide range of jobs including all aspects of growing vegetables for a box delivery round, lambing (April), firewood, tree planting, fencing, building, animal care (sheep, bees, cattle, hens). A good work ethic is more important than previous experience & we love to learn from our volunteers too!

Projects include building a load bearing straw bale house with traditional post & beam verandas, any trades / prior experience is very welcome! Next job is internal clay rendering & lime washing, the outside has been done now.

If you are looking for a long term placement then we can teach you how to grow veg & run a veg box schem... more inside

Hi.

We run a friendly pub in the Cotswolds just outside Stroud. We have a sweet garden area which is in need of love and constant care as well as a courtyard and lots of hanging baskets.
Looking for one or two people to come and stay while enjoying the area for a couple of weeks or so. We have one private room that would be your own, a shared bathroom and living space.
We have dogs and sometimes have friends dogs stay, so enjoying the local area while exercising the dogs may be needed.
Help with cleaning, cooking and helping around the house is needed.
Other work involves gardening, cleaning, painting and some general decor, as well as being part of the extended family.
It’s a friendly set up, we have six children but only one at home at the moment. We shop well from local markets, and like to use local produce where ever possible. We try to eat as a family, often with friends and staff and am happy to cater for most food types, although. Nut allergy’s could prove a pr... more inside

The work will mainly involve: Renovatinging/decorating/DIY. But also cleaning the house, gardening, shopping, furniture restoration and whatever else is needed

I am very interested in hosting professionals with building skills. Plumbers, plasterers. carpenters, electricians, bricklayers, builders etc. I can host people for long periods (6 months +) if needed.

For professionals I am also interested in paying for extra hours worked, so please contact me if this is something you are looking for.

I would ideally like someone with some experience, but this is not essential.

In exchange for free accommodation and food, I would expect 4 hours a day help. If you have experience that would be excellent, if not then as long as you're hard working and quick to learn then I can guide you (I've renovated a few houses before)
I can be flexible as to how you work your hours, but this needs to be mutually agreed in advance

I do not allow smoking in the house
I do not want peopl... more inside

We are, at the moment (from November 2019) looking for a couple/small group/very self sufficient individual to help with tidying and wood clearing on our smallholding. The cabin on our woodland also needs some attention which might require staying overnight there. Would suit someone/people who want peace and quiet, are able to work on their own and take initiative.

We are a 2 hectare smallholding with 2 holiday cottages (one of which would be the accommodation). We sometimes keep animals for our own consumption, grow fruit and vegetables and enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the world.

We are looking for help with work both inside and out, depending on skills and inclination (and the weather) including cleaning and painting in the holiday cottages, Handyman-type maintenance, wood clearing and chopping, strimming, weeding/picking vegetables and helping out around the smallholding and garden. We would expect 4-5 hours work a day, with a day off a week, you need to be... more inside
