Our family of 3 children, 1 lively Bearded Collie, 2 cats, and several chickens live on 2.5 Acres, of regenerating native bush and grass.

We are working hard to be self sufficient but have some way to go. We generate our own power, harvest water and use worm composting for our septics which seems to work well. The house is new and built to be energy and materials efficient.

Our village is in the heart of a fantastic slice of countryside with beaches, shops, cafe's and every activity you could imagine a short drive away. We are out surfing, dog walking, mountain biking, swimming as often as we can...trying to find a balance between getting on top of the weeds and having fun!

We have a fair bit of work to do on our section. We are slowly working through several landscaping projects including building raised veggie patches, clearing weeds and planting the property with natives and fruit trees.

The kinds of things we would love help with include
- landscaping, inc... more inside

Females only thanks !!

We have just moved house to a beautiful new place -- it has a lot more land and gardens galore !! We are ideally looking for a female volunteer or two to help with transforming our many terraced gardens into useful, productive gardens that we can eat from... themed.. like a salad garden, a herb garden, etc.

We are ideally looking for someone who loves gardening and or who understands what makes a successful garden. I am interested in permaculture and learning more about the different ways of improving planting and harvesting. We do not use any pesticides or chemicals in the garden.

We have chickens and a fish pond.

Our home is in West Auckland -- 6 mins walk to nearest bus stop and 4 mins walk to train station that takes you straight into the CBD (40 mins by train). 3 mins train ride to nearest mall/supermarket/library/movies/town area.

We are very interested in traditional crafts. We love knitting, sewing and keen to try spinning. We als... more inside

A medium sized property 50 minutes from the centre of Auckland City and 40 minutes from the airport. The property shares one kilometre of boundary with the Waikato River. There are dogs, cattle, and a flock of sheep. Twenty six hectares are in bush and wetlands and are protected by a QEII covenant. There is a variety of farming and conservation activities to become involved in. Tasks include weeding and/ or planting of native trees, care of dogs and cattle, and cleaning around and in the house and gardens. Chemicals are sometimes used to control weeds. There are a number of family members living on the property. Accommodation is currently in the main house.

We are 3 guys in our 20's. We work hard but like to socialise and not spend our spare time with general house work! The house is located on the North Shore close to Takapuna or 20 minutes from city on the bus.

Our cleaner has just finished so thought that we could open our house to travellers in exchange for house work duties. These will exclude bathroom cleaning once or twice a week, vacuuming, sweeping the kitchen, and dishes daily. We do not expect it to exceed and hour per day. Food and cooking for yourself is your own responsibility but are welcome to use our facilities.

We can provide everything and a fun environment to stay however please understand we can be busy and also tired so not always in a position for entertaining.

The ideal person would be a young friendly traveller for medium term days. A minimum of one week and review after that. Intermediate English is required.
