We are a family run smallholding where we keep 450 chickens which produce great free range eggs. During this spring and summer, we are looking for help with mainly outside work around the smallholding such as feeding the chickens and collecting and packing eggs, grass cutting, gardening, carpentry and chicken hut maintenance. From time to time we need help in our shop were we sell our own products and others that are locally produced. There's always a lot going on here and we are developing our business all of the time.
There is always a lot of cooking to be done for ourselves and helpers so if you like doing this, that is great.

Accommodation is in a separate building which can sleep a maximum of 4 people - this has its own shower and toilet. We are a very friendly household and will treat you as one of the family. We try to make our helpers stay as pleasant as we can and try our best to provide the food you would like as we are very keen on tasty healthy food.

We ar... more inside

I'm a sporty person and enjoy nature/wildlife.
My place is not nice so I'm offering it free to anyone who can help me get it nice. You don't really have to be a tradesperson we can learn on YouTube lol. Ideally you could help with buying food but I will if need be. Locally it's in the Valleys so there is nature around. Really nice national park Brecon beacons not far which I love all this stuff. If it is sunny we don't have to work we go out there's no deadline with this. River Taff is behind house and the Taff biking trail so we can do that i have a spare bike, a kayak, spare wetsuit and bodyboard for beach.

There is like I believe plastering, I need to take the floor up in kitchen, just cleaning n bitty bits like filling holes n things. I'm gonna try n get all the tools needed.... Shed in garden needs work too rotting away at back. Fencing in garden. I need to get shower fitted in there eventually. There is only bath. Insta is brynaldo. I also have gym n sauna facilities for... more inside

*????????Hi there, just a quick update - The land is just starting to wake up from the long winter! I am just starting to get the garden ready for vegetables and will be cutting and planting trees as well as some building maintenance, if you like what you read below, you're welcome to come and help out from the end of March onwards!*

My son and I have lived on this smallholding for the past 15 years. We have a cottage, a rustic bothy/music rehearsal room where sometimes couchsurfers and helpx guests have stayed, a workshop for art and creative projects. We enjoy crafts, I make things from beach wood and my son is studying design. At the moment, he has recently moved out but is usually around in the weekends.

The land is approximately 1 hectare, I have planted over 500 trees and they are just starting to mature. There is a vegetable garden and a polytunnel (greenhouse). I try to grow all my vegetables and I am still learning about preserving vegetables so that we can be sel... more inside

We are a small creative community and upland sheep holding, producing most of our own veg, dairy and meat. We have lots of inspiring projects on the go and work is extremely varied. Here you can learn about all aspects of sustainable living. We are also archaeologists, building a stone age working settlement. We are looking for people with carpentry and green woodworking skills especially in 2019 to help on this project. We are offering internships for people wanting longer term placements with greater depth of learning and research in a range of subjects from countryside management to experimental archaeology.

Hello! We live in Totnes, in South Devon, England. Totnes is considered to be one of the most 'alternative' places to live in the UK! In addition, there are many environmental and social projects which support the community. We moved to a small house here and are trying to improve it in order to be able to live with other people.

There are 3 people who currently live here, me (Charlotte) and my two children Rowan (age 6) and Aven (age 16months). There will be other people who come to stay as the house improves and people are able to stay in the rooms. My son who studies art sometimes stays here with a friend. He is brilliant and drawing and can offer lessons!

Each room needs work eg. move walls, repair floor boards, install small kitchenette, fit bathroom, small build on the back of the house, etc. Ideally this would suit a person/s who have some building (including carpentry and plumbing) experience! Non smoker, quiet person, happy to be around a small family but also opportu... more inside

There are a few bars and restaurants close by and some pretty woodland/canalside walks. I am looking for someone to help with decorating, moving things, cleaning, gardening etc.I would expect 3 hours work a day for bed, breakfast and fair use of the wifi. Other meals you are obviously welcome to store and cook here! The room is a pretty double with lots of storage.
Lola (the dog) is very friendly and loves walks in the woods and cuddling on the couch too! I am a good host and will happily take you to a few of the local sights/pubs if you would lik... more inside

We are a family home comprising of 6 of us (us and our 4 grown up tribe who stay at home sometimes) coming and going , 2 dogs, a rabbit and 3 sheep lawn mowers. There is usually lots going on and we like that. We are looking for an individual or couple that are both happy to muck in and be hands on. Short stays are fine, longer stays considered. Unfortunately for the week of the festival, (last week of June) we will have a full house. There are lots of things to do inside the house and out, but we are quite relaxed and open to new ideas. It would be hugely beneficial to us if you have any skills such as carpentry or specifically experience turning wooden stables into living accommodation. At this time of year, we need help with a variety of tasks, from strimming and brush cutting, to collecting and preparing firewood. The large garden is always in need of weeding and pruning. Cooking and cleaning are always a welcome addition, as a bit of contrast with the heavier work outside.

We are a family-run estate on the west coast of Scotland, around 2 and a half hours from Glasgow. We have many animals (cows, sheep, various poultry, dogs, cats and horses) and so volunteers must like animals. Volunteers will work alongside family members or estate staff on our various activities. During the summer months we also run a famous restaurant. In addition we have holiday cottages which have to be cleaned in between occupants. There are grounds, gardens, houses/buildings that need renovation and maintenance. We are situated in a beautiful area on the coast and there are a range of things to do in volunteers spare time.
