Nick and I live at Foss, near Loch Tummel a stunning area with unspoiled green countryside and hills. We are near Pitlochry and Aberfeldy, popular tourist destinations in the heart of Scotland.
This beautiful countryside of Perthshire has tremendous remote areas with interesting wildlife, birds, mushrooms and plants. We have mountains, forests and rivers for walks, whitewater rafting nearby.
Nick could take helpers out sailing when time and weather allows. You can also use our 2 man canoe.
We need help with a variety of jobs, in our new house (painting and a bit of carpentry ), around the garden, new paths and beds, wood chopping and splitting, with general help around the farm (sheep and cattle). We would prefer if helpers could stay at least for a week.

Down the hill only 3 miles away, there is a shop, a pub, swimming pool and a fish and chip shop. We have bicycles and can drive you to Pitlochry or the village of Tummel Bridge for a bus.

Accommodation is a shepherds hut... more inside

We live in a beautiful village called Plockton in the Scottish Highlands.

We're open to the public and have a 2.5km walk that needs maintaining and developing. The property has gardens both flower and veg in development. We run events from time to time and will soon have a tea hut up and running. There are lots of different projects running here all the time, we eat well and work hard.

Needing volunteers, preferably a couple or 2 friends but single also okay, to come and trade their time helping us work the land prepping the gardens and be a part of the household. The work includes clearing and grass cutting, planting and building new features around the property as well as cutting wood ready for winter and building cold frame glasshouses.

We have a good sailing community in the village and lots of hill walking to be done. We also are now creating branded products on site such as screen printing and creating anything we can with what ever we have. This is a creative garden... more inside

We are a couple from Cornwall who are helping to run the family's small holding. We are fun loving, hard working individuals who are enjoying implementing Permaculture designed buildings, allotment, polytunnel, animal areas, forest garden and ponds. We have a large variety of projects on the go from building sheds to 12v solar/wind systems and rocket mass heaters to apple tree guilds. We are interested in planting edible/medicinal plants and already have some on the go ready to harvest for tintures! Our work varies between building, gardening, animals and holiday lets. Exciting :)
Nick normally works full-time at home finishing and experimenting with new ideas whilst Rosie works full-time as a primary school teacher.
Nicks family also live at home, so there's always lots going on and we often eat communally :)

Our farm is located in the Middle of North Wales, next to Snowdonia.
A low carbon vegan off grid stockfree Agroforestry Forest Garden Farm orchard of 7 acres in the highlands of Central North Wales at 1,000 ft altitude. Started 1997, in our apple and pear breeding program since the year 2000 we have developed 28 of our own varieties of apples and 7 of our own varieties of pears. Also our own variety of Hazel. We grow Robert Harts original Blackcurrants and Redcurrants that we received from him as cuttings. We operate a Forest garden nursery on a gift economy basis supplying the choicest and most abundantly fruiting and local varieties.

Harry Mather, Robert Hart, Dick Kitto and Kathleen Jannaway were among the founder members of this 90's pioneering reducing the cost of living transition to moneyless gift economy cooperative. We have Robert Harts redcurrant bushes and blackcurrants growing here and supply them from the nursery.
