We have moved from Turkey where we hosted 70 HelpXs over 5 years. All of the reviews below prior to 2017 are with reference to that listing. We aim to continue our animal rescue and organic permaculture here in France.

We have a copse to restore and gardens to establish so there is plenty to keep us occupied. A lot of hedgerow maintenance.
We are a rescue Centre for donkeys and so there are always on going projects.

We would require our helpers to have a good sense of humour and common sense and to be adaptable as life here is less than predictable. We never know what the day will throw at us and so are wary of making too many plans!

We would also require and trust helpers to keep their more than adequate accommodation clean and tidy and leave it as they found it and respect our home. We are VERY particular about this as we have been left with appalling conditions to clean up on a number of occasions.

We would like help for 6 hours a day for 5 days then 2 days off. We... more inside

We have two self catering villas with two pools. We are looking for a couple to help This may include maintenance of pools, garden ,painting msintaining surrounds, accommodation , and possibly some household tasks eg ironing. We also have six hens which may need looking after from time to time.
The house and villas are nestled amongst vines on a quiet lane. This is a fabulous location with little noise apart from the buzz of bees. However our lovely market town is only 2km away where restaurants, bars and markets thrive. We have bikes fir you to use and there is a bus service.
Lac salagou is ten mins away where you can sail, swim, barbeque. Walking and cycling is brilliant and the wonderful Mediterranean is just over half an hour away. This is the largest wine area in France why not come over and sample life in the south of France. Airports are 30 and 40 mins away so it's easy to reach UK in 1hr 30 and other parts of Europe. Looking forward to hearing from you.

We are located near the foothills of the Pyrenees in the region of Occitania (formerly Languedoc-Roussillon) in the department of Aude. We speak several languages including English, French and Spanish. We have no animals and cannot host pets.

We usually have opportunities in spring and autumn for people who can help with our permaculture projects and gardening, and simple restoration work, including painting, carpentry and stonework, as well as daily tasks. No special skills are required. You will have lots of free time to explore this very beautiful and interesting region of France.

We can offer a camping place for your tent or camper van in exchange for two hours of work per day. Other arrangements may be possible according to availability for up to four hours of work per day, 5 days per week.

Hi!
We are a couple in our mid/late 30s with 2 children (4 and 2). 2 dogs and a cat in the house. Out side 9 horses.
I am english and my husband french and english. We speak english at home with the children and french together.
We have a simple farm with 20hectares of land with fields and a bit of wood, that needs a bit of a clean up: wood cutting, weeding garden and kitchen garden, cutting under horse fences. Possible to accommodate a single person or a couple, you would have a guest room with it s own shower room. You would also have internet and 3 meals a day. The simple farm is between libourne and bergerac. A 30 minute train will get you to bordeaux. It would be great to meet new people who are hoping to get around in exchange of 2 to 4 hours work a day.

Welcome in the parc naturel régional du Morvan!

This Burgundy area has many cycling and marked walking trails, a very rich biodiversity and 4 seasons which have each their own charme.

Permaculture is my tool to live in and with nature and offer wild life an interesting habitat so it can develop as rich as possible. My gardens are registered refuges by the Ligue Pour la Protection des Oiseaux (LPO).
Long term helpers can tend a permaculture design course. Books about permaculture in English and Dutch are available.

All sort of work to help out depending on the season. In the vegetable garden and orchard grow and harvest food, with the restoration of my in 1875 constructed farm using traditional building methods when possible. There are some chickens, bees and the dogs Sam and Joep to take care for. Build a rocket stove, resize the original wood fired bread oven, construct stairs, insulate the new roof, install therm.solar panels, cut and take care for... more inside

We are a busy family always in need of help around the house, garden and with our menagerie of animals (horses, dogs, cat)

We have been renovating our house and there is work still to be done and lots of skills to be learned. A little DIY experience would be useful but not needed as long as you have the motivation and confidence to have a go. If anyone hase any experience installing septic tanks you are more than welcome and we are happy to pay for this type of work - planning to do this Spring 2020.

We like our helpers to become part of the family and help out at mealtimes and with general household duties when needed. I do not object to anyone using my kitchen and doing some baking if you feel like it.

As we are still renovating we have set aside part of the attic (centrally heated, double glazing and insulated but not yet turned into a bedroom) for our helpers. Its warm and dry but a little bit rustic.

Helpers who can ride (English style) are allowed to use our h... more inside

Bonjour!

We are Annie (Australian), Jean-Philippe (French), Martin (13), Tomas (7) and Georges (3). We live in a large 18th century house on half an acre in the small village of Cox about 1 hour west of Toulouse. We speak French and English, and can stumble along in Spanish.

We are looking for practical independent people to help us finish renovating our house and getting our garden into shape. You should be happy spending time in a noisy family, as our boys will be excited to meet you.

Our main projects for spring/summer 2020 are finishing the kitchen, re-tiling a part of our roof, constructing retaining walls for the garden, building the bathroom and a guest room, planting out the vegetable garden, starting a apothecary garden... the list is already too long.

But we need all kinds of help: plastering, tiling, carpentry, painting, plumbing, gardening, clearing out the barns, cooking, playing with kids!

We expect a total of 25 hours work per week. Depending on what bi... more inside

Gardening, animal care, wood and construction work,... and all kind of outdoor jobs.

To go further with our project, we would need people who are used to the outdoor and physical jobs.
Also mechanical and building skills would be very welcome :)

A fantastic site, a crazy project, animals in every corner and two eccentrics in search of an improbable conversion. Here's what you'll find in the middle of the ruins of a medieval castle and its outbuildings.
We left Britanny to the Hautes-Pyrénées six years ago, to begin this life project as ambitious as exciting. With our garden and animals, we try to develop an educational farm, as well as a association to save the ruins of the chateau!

Located 450m above sea level in the Pyrenean foothills, our little corner of paradise requires numerous works of all kinds to regain its former glory and to adapt to future projects: land clearing and building, logging, preservation of stone walls, development of livestock buildings and plac... more inside
