We have a gite/B&B located in the Ariege department of the French Pyrenees, close to the town of Tarascon sur Ariege, where there is a train station. Well positioned for rock climbing, walking, biking. We can generally hook you up with other climbers and we have mountain bikes you can borrow. We are happy to drop you off at places to help you make the most of your time off.
We like to think we are an easy going family. We have two children, aged 10 and 12. We would like you to work for 4 hours a day, two days on, one day off. Work will probably be in the mornings. We can be somewhat flexible with this if you have a particular project or activity you want to do.
The work is out on our land: helping make our first "no-dig" veggie patch, digging out brambles and nettles, strimming, landscaping, planting trees, sorting fences, putting in rustic steps, cutting grass. We welcome your ideas, and for the DIY capable there is plenty to go at. Its in a beautiful, peaceful sunny spot with ... more inside

We are located in one of the most beautiful places in the Dordogne in France. The park is situated on the top of a hill and has a magnificent view over the valleys with rivers, castles and picturesque French villages. The Dordogne region is one of the most famous regions in France where many people spend their holidays. The region is known for the pleasant climate, the beautiful hilly landscape with extensive vineyards and many tourist spots. The river Dordogne meanders through the landscape and at almost every bend there is again a beautiful panorama, often with authentic castles and other country houses.

We are a family from Holland, Raimond and Marieke (49 & 43) with 2 children (18 & 15), 2 cats and a horse. We are the hosts on the domaine and live in France all year long.

From May till October or a part in this periode we love to find 2 helpers who can help in the kitchen, bar, restaurant, general maintenance, gardening, etc.

Hi, we are Mailys and Joel, and would like to welcome you in our house located about 30km west from Paris.

We offer a private room + private bathroom for 1 or 2 persons in a comfortable and large house, with a nice garden, a fitness room and a garage. The district is extremely quiet, and Versailles and Paris are easily accessible via public transportation (20 / 45 minutes resp.).

The work is most of all flexible and will most likely depend on your skills. Generally speaking, we are interested to get some help on gardening, and general handling of the house.
We expect you to help 3h/day average, but we are quite flexible.
We are definitely looking for cultural exchanges.

In return we provide comfortable accommodation in our house, and WiFi. We have bikes you can use to explore the countryside.

Email us for much more details and pictures. Looking forward to meeting you, Mailys and Joel.

Our farm is 40 hectares of rolling woodland and meadow near the small town of Mirepoix, in Ariège, south-western France. We are developing our farm project and currently have 7 Galloway and 9 Casta cows. Our project involves holding meditational Retreats in which guests are given the opportunity to practice yoga, meditation and silent walks in and around the farm. We are also developing a nature sanctuary on all our land which includes the cows, an orchard, recreating wildflower meadows and creating wildlife ponds and of course, showing love and respect to the original inhabitants - the deer, wild boar, buzzards, lizards and so on.

We have recently featured in a BBC documentary 'The Secret Life of Farm Animals' and also in several well-being magazines such as Happiful, Breathe and Pebble.

The foundation of the farm is quietness. That doesn't mean we don't talk, rather that we are dedicated to allowing this natural quietness guide us in all we do.

Hi,

We are Toby (40) from the UK and Ania (30) from Poland, a young couple with a 22 month old daughter, Sarah.

We have inherited an old french farm which was renovated into a 16 bedroom hotel by my father back in 1990, it is a beautiful house in the countryside of the Dordogne, very peaceful area with lots of beautiful wildlife.

The house is in the centre of the French wine region in-between Bergerac and St Emillion. 60km from Bordeaux.

Sadly parts of the house have been neglected over the years, so we need some help to get the place cleaned and ready to re-open this summer.

We used helpx last winter and we had a good experience, so we would like a bit more help this spring.

If you are good with your hands & happy to get involved, this will be perfect, if you have experience with painting and construction that will be even better.

We have a nice room for you in the main house with a nice view over the garden and with TV, Kettle for Tea & Coffee, Wi-Fi and ens... more inside

I am currently looking for helpers with gardening skills and for other jobs. There is quite a lot of mowing and strimming to be done all year round, as well as weeding, watering the garden so I will need help with these jobs. And of course, pool maintenance!

Typical French country house near village in south-west France. Lovely countryside for walking; biking, canoeing (in summer).

Help requested for gardening, carpentry and painting. Other jobs possible, including pool maintenance. You will have your own room. Bicycle available. I can pick you up either in Cahors or in Figeac or at Brives airport.

From March onwards I need help with cleaning up the garden and the grounds, some pruning of shrubs, making bonfires. There are also some windows to be painted and various other little jobs. If you have skills with restoring dry stone walls, there is work for you! In the summer pool maintenance will be one of your jobs.

All the meals are taken together, and if you like cookin... more inside

After volunteering in various farms in the world, I managed to convince my father accept about hosting volunteers and I`m really happy to start that new experience in our property. The farm is only 1hectare, sufficient for a family to grow veggies and care few animals for our own consumption. It`s about 10years that we didn`t do much on buildings and the priority will be renovate walls and roofs. I live in a mobile-home in the middle of the farm with dry toilet and solar shower but we`ll provide private rooms in the house for volunteers. There are 2bathrooms and all "normal" convenience in the house (even if I don`t think that`s normal to waste 5Liters of water at every flush... So, there are dry toilets outside, it will be up to you to use them)
I`ll be assisting volunteers, as my father doesn`t speak english. Hopefully you`ll speak some basics french to communicate with him. Don`t hesitate to write me for any further information.
See you soon!
Coral and Jean-Mi
