We are a family of four, with two boys, aged 3 and a half and 10 months. We are easy going, and enjoy the quiet life. We look forward to meeting and experiencing people from other cultures. Holly is English, Andy is Australian. We are happy to help people learning English.

We live in a mobile home / static caravan in a small community not far from Glastonbury (~10 miles), in the countryside. We are keen gardeners, and have an allotment nearby. We are a vegan household, and love cooking and sharing food.

We have been helpx volunteers several times around the world and are keen to get some help ourselves!

At the moment we have helpers until the middle of August, if you would like to come any time after that we need help with general chores and sawing up wood cleaning/painting, keeping the baby entertained, and we love being cooked for! Help is also needed at the allotment. We would expect around 4 hours work a day, with 2 days off a week. 3 meals a day. We are flexible with ... more inside

Richard Glyn Foundation - Gaunt's House

We are currently particulary looking for 2 Residential Volunteers who wish to stay for minimum 3-6 months (from February 2019) to assist our head gardener and someone with carpentry experience to project manage the completion of our roundhouse.

Set in acres of beautiful land with a Georgian/ Edwardian period house built in the 18th Century by Sir Richard Glyn. The Richard Glynn Foundation (a charity) was set up to offer opportunities for profound learning and seeks to instil values of community, honesty and openness.

Based on a small country estate, we have a Victorian walled garden, which is being developed over time into an oasis of food production and a wildlife haven. We have inherited a much neglected garden and a lot of the work this year is in restoration, as well as trying to build new areas and grow new things in a more natural, sustainable and friendly manner.

We grow vegetables, herbs and flowers using organic gard... more inside

We are currently seaking a volunteer or volunteer couple to help us run our hostel from April through to September 2019. A minimum period of two months will suit both ourselves and our prospective volunteers interests best. Please do not reply with an offer of less than two months.

We are a modest (14 bed) backpackers hostel, in a beautiful country location close to the Eden Project and the town of St Austell in mid Cornwall.
The hostel is immediately adjacent to our cottage and utilises an existing complex of a stable yard and buildings. These have been sensitively converted into two dorms, a common area, shower block and courtyard kitchen.
We also have a modest growing area for organic soft fruits and vegetables.
The volunteer or volunteer couple are offered accommodation in our cottage with their own room and bed. Full board is provided with free use of telephone (for UK landline calls) and wifi. You can find out more about us from our website, edensyard.co.uk

We will be hosting Helpx again in 2019 from Spring to Autumn and we offer a double room with en-suite bathroom, plus meals, for 20 hours manual work per person per week, based on working 9.00 to 13.00 five days, so this will best suit robust individuals! We have about an acre of ground at home, plus we have another acre and a half 10 mins walk away. We especially enjoy gardening, both flowers and vegetables. We welcome help with garden work, such as outdoor painting, weeding, and mending. The work will often involve active jobs, e.g. cutting brambles and wood, moving manure, digging etc, so you need a reasonable level of mobility/fitness, and it is helpful (but not at all essential) if you are willing to use power tools, such as strimmer and mower! If you would like to join us for a while you will need working clothes and suitable outdoor working footwear, as we still work if the rain is not too heavy! However, if the weather is too bad to work outdoors, ordinary domestic jobs su... more inside

We run a small outdoor cafe, open from April to the end of September each year. We are situated on the beautiful island of Kerrera, 5 mins off the coast of Oban in the west of Scotland. The island attracts lots of walkers and we are positioned in a great location 45 mins walk from the ferry on the south of the island close to Gylen Castle. It's the perfect place to stop for some good homemade soups, cakes and a nice cup of tea!

We also have a seven bed Bunkhouse and seasonal bell tent for hire.

Tasks would include working in the kitchen with dish washing, food prep, cleaning, cake baking, scone making and serving customers. We're open 10.30am-4.30pm, so we ask helpers to be ready to start at 10am. There will occasionally be other work such as cleaning, laundry and and gardening. Working hours will be dependent on how busy we are and we ask you to be flexible. We give helpers 2 days off per week and are looking for helpers who can commit to a 4 week stay with longer stays possi... more inside

We are a free range, semi self sufficient dairy farm, milking cows once a day on a rotary parlour.
We are looking for people to come and share our home, join in with family meals and our family life. In return we would like some help with milking most mornings so some experience would be very useful but not essential.
There is an old tractor that has been half way restored so if you enjoy tinkering with ancient mechanics this could be for you!
We also need help in the garden. There is a large vegetable garden which is sadly neglected and needs some TLC to get it back to being a productive organic vegetable source for the house.
Keeping the farm clean and tidy and helping move cows from field to field. About 4 hours help a day.
We are very remote and rural, the nearest shop is 5 miles away. There is a great country pub 3 miles away. We are an hour's drive from the North Devon coast with great surfing.
Over the last 10 years we have lots of Aussies and Kiwis stay with us ... more inside

Taking helpers Feb - April 2019
We've recently moved into an old house on the edge of a small town in SW England. The garden needs a lot of digging and replanting. The house needs artistic work to restore it to a 1787 farmhouse - painting, carpentry, construction - (some heavy),so men are preferred for 2-4 weeks. We also need someone who is good with marketing ebooks, editing and selling through a website.
You will have a comfortable room and great food and wifi. The town has all amenities and is on the main railway line to London and on bus routes.
There will be plenty of trips out to surrounding towns and countryside. Stonehenge is about 30 mins away by car.
I should point out that we do NOT cater for vegetarians or anyone who has particular dietary needs. Tell us if there's anything you don't eat.

Here are some reviews from helpers at our house in Spain:-

Larcombe copse is an old unused slate quarry in a beautiful valley with a lake, stream, wildflower grasslands, woodland and pasture. I have a two and a half acre field with a caravan for temporary accommodation and the makings of a field shelter/lean-to for storage and to double up as an art studio.

I am looking for help to finish the construction alongside general maintenance and planting a range of trees, shrubs, herbs and vegetables, introducing bees, chickens etc. all in all to create as diverse and beautiful a place as possible:)

I live by the river in Totnes and can provide food and accommodation and transport to the field which is ten or so minutes away. There is also the option to stay up there temporarily as I am making the caravan comfortable with a burner and a gas shower:)

We live in sunny Bude, North Cornwall and our home is just a 2 minute walk to the beaches and south west coastal path. We love travelling and have volunteered through helpx along our way and had some unique experiences. My husband is a musician  and we both really enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life and countries. We are in the process of completing a timber frame annexe to let out this summer and are looking for someone with experience and happy to help with general building, carpentry, painting, plastering etc and some garden work. You will have your own room and we are happy to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner in return for 5-6 hours work a day with weekends off. We would prefer you to stay for at least a week. You will have plenty of time to enjoy Bude, go surfing, walking, cycling etc. Everything is a short walk away so you will not need a car.
The nearest train station is Exeter where you can get a bus to Bude if you need to.
If this sounds like a place you wo... more inside
