Since 4,5 years I live in a Finca in a natural park in Andalusie/ Costa del Sol. I really enjoy the place because of its pure nature and silence. A drive from the house to the nearest village, Competa is about 20 min. It’s a beautiful multi-cultural mountain village. (about 30min. drive from the coast, 1 hour drive from Malaga)

I'm a Dutch artist and running a gallery in the village. I'm an active person, organizing art-events and i'm accompanied by other creative, kind people, musicians and so on. Since Competa has 50% villagers from outside Spain, the gallery is visited by many different people. Also quite some artists do live in or near Competa.
I love to meet people from other countries. Important in life for me is to keep balanced as far as possible and to keep inspired. In this way I'm also able to maybe inspire others.
I do have 2 cats and 1 dog. They have all freedom here in the park, but do love company as well.

I’ve become more conscious of the connection betwe... more inside

Hi!

I'm looking for an experienced plasterer who can finish a wall before doing the painting.

Also it would be great to have someone with electrical skills. I basically need a room to be rewired (it's only one bedroom, not the whole flat!).

You'll be working between 2 and 2,5 hours a day (Monday to Friday), in exchange for accommodation and breakfast. There's also a possibility to work 5 hours a day: in this case, accommodation and all meals would be provided.

You will have your own private bedroom, linen provided, access to laundry, etc. Bath will be shared. I do not have internet but there's free wi-fi in the flat (and it works most of the time!). Grocery stores and a big supermarket nearby. The flat is in a quiet neighbourhood, but only at 15 min. from the center. Smoking or heavy drinking not allowed in the flat, but occasional light drinking is no problem.

As for the work, you can organize it as you like: you can work a little every day or maybe work full ... more inside

My name is Teresa. My husband, my children (Noa is 8 and Alex is 5 years old) and me live in Burgos (Camino de Santiago), a town in the north of Spain. We spend several days in summer in our house of a village near Burgos with beautiful sightseeing. During summer time there are a lot of parties and activities. We usually go to the city once or twice a week, and we can give you a lift to the city center.
We´re looking for an English person who can take care of our two children and speak with us in English, we can also teach some Spanish. We offer food + accommodation.
We offer a single room. We have internet access

We are in the initial stages of creating a permaculture demonstration site combined with a local agroecological information center/transition town community space. We have a 3 hectare site, a 5 min walk to the center of Medina Sidonia, a small rural town in Cadiz, Andalucia.

We plan to develop the existing mature fruit orchard into a Mediterranean woodland garden. Existing fruit trees are olives, grapes, figs, pomegranates, lemons, oranges, mandarins, loquats, plums, pears, quince, custard apples, avocadoes, bananas.

We are in awe of living with the abundance this land offers as well as hoping to influence people around us to take small steps towards living more gently with the earth. We aspire to making a difference in this beautiful world albeit with a grain of sand.

We can only offer tent accommodation so far. Apologies. Looking for a cheap caravan but no joy yet!

Current projects for September- early December

Please read the following carefully as once you are here I will expuect you to stay the course!!
I only take single people not couples or groups of friends. I also don't cater for vegetarians and prefer non smokers. You will also need to be an animal lover - especially of dogs!
I expect you to work for 5 hours a day five days a week. I work hard and I expect you to do the same. The work is psychically demanding - if it wasn't I would be doing it myself. At the moment there is still some bramble clearance that needs doing as well as conquering other weeds, painting inside and outside of the house and mixing of concrete so I can finish rendering the wall. Also digging out fence post holes and repairing fences. I want to construct a new shelter for the peacocks in the form of a castle - the current plan is to make a wooden frame and use cane from the river and render over it. I am also starting to grow Moringa trees so there is a lot of ground preparation and potting of seedling ... more inside
