Now taking helpers, through to September 2019

We are located 2 miles north of the popular ski and all year mountain resort of AVIEMORE, in the highlands of Scotland.

Our croft is about 1/2 an acre. We have the 2 bedroom house, an outside Summerhouse, small caravan (all for helper accommodation), a small wildlife pond, a recently finished greenhouse from reclaimed windows. At the end of the property there is a woodwork shop - garage, co existing with accommodation for 2 guests. Which we rent out for the summer months.

We are looking for an extra hand or two around our place. Helping with the day to day tasks, change overs in the guesthouse, tending the greenhouse and garden, child minding while we do it!, landscaping, splitting logs and stacking, building interesting structures! It's a broad range of work typically outside.

I (Alex) also travel to my family's hill farm to partake in general farm tasks. I also walk the Cairngorm Mountains tending my family's Herd of re... more inside

We are looking for volunteers to help on our events farm. We have a variety of different roles available depending on the time of year.
Winter is generally refurb jobs, summer more hands on with events.

Our farm has been in our family 100 years, the land is used by a neighboring farmer, but we manage the large gardens, courtyard and barn for events.

You can see our farm here: www.stanfordfarm.co.uk

As well as weddings at the farm I run a lesbian festival and other womens events.

Jobs that need doing:
Planting / weeding new garden areas
Mowing lawns (tractor mower)
Painting areas
Wood work and small building works
Working on event days at the festival or weddings.

I live at the farm with my partner Beki and her son William (13)

We have two caravans for use for volunteers to stay in. We have volunteers all year round so there maybe other volunteers here if you come on your own. We have shower and toilets blocks and outdoor kitchen.

Great food and family environment with loads to do all the time!!

For e.g.in September I have a milling project that I would need two people to help carry wood that we mill from logs into boards and posts.

Or simply feeding them chickens and ducks. Lots of different tasks dialy to get on with.

Depending on skill level we would work out what we could do.

We offer board 2 people If you dont mind sharing a room. Double bed and a single.

We have had lots of helpers through work away and family and friends.

Lots of great food and super views walks and real country living.

I am based in the Norfolk countryside and I am setting up a small rural retreat. I am looking for like minded people who might like to come and stay for a couple of weeks to help with some of the finishing off of the accommodation and at the same time relax in the countryside and switch off with a slower more simpler way of life and of course music and great food too!!
Please note I am setting up a private retreat not a business so I am only offering food and bed and welcome!

The guest lodgings are up and are a mix of studios and shepherds huts, each one handmade and completely unique, there is a shared kitchen, woodburning stoves, indoor toilet and cleaning facilities.

Helpers duties may include some carpentry, general repairs, painting, clearing and gardening. We are only a 5 minute drive into a small market town which has direct train links to Norwich and London. I grow a lot of vegetables and herbs here in the garden and I am happy to cater for vegan, vegetarian and meat... more inside

Availability mid August and October

i am restoring a small farm which i share with Horses,Alpacas,Sheep,Goats,Ducks, Chickens,Turkeys,Dogs,Cat and a Parrott.

The big project at the moment is converting the brick barn into a house and the farmyard needs landscaping into a garden...Maintance of the fields, tracks and machinary is always ongoing as is the care of the farm animals.
I also have an assortment of vintage farm vehicles which always require some TLC.

An extra pair of hands to help with any of these tasks or helping look after the animals would be amazing.

In return I can provide accomodation in a self contained flat, food can either be provided for you to cook or we can share meals...its a peaceful rural lifestyle in a friendly community, theres horse riding, fabulous walks, and WiFi

The attached photos show some of the progress made so far and a few of our helpers.

I have availability end June/beginning July, end august and october If you would like to co... more inside
