This is ideal for someone who would enjoy the social and cultural buzz of the city within easy walking distance, while also being close to two charming harbour beaches and some great walks. It’s a good arrangement for you if you value your own private space whenever you want it, but also enjoy a stimulating environment.
Our comfortable inner city 112 year old Victorian villa is a two minute walk to Ponsonby Road. Accommodation is self-contained - and that's ideal for the lockdown period. (see guest room photos), with your own separate entrance, private veranda, generous double bed, kitchenette with microwave, hot plate, toaster and small fridge, dining table/desk, laundry machine and en suite bathroom/toilet. Free wifi (within reason!)

Because we’re on an unusually wide section for a city house, we have dedicated space for a traditional herb garden that our neighbours can also enjoy,a tree viewing platform and raised beds for an organic kitchen garden.Kind of like the countr... more inside

Hi there!

We are a French-Spanish family of 4 living in New Zealand after sailing from France. He is 35,I am 34.

Sadly we do not own a boat anymore but we still love the outdoors, the sea, travelling and learning from the people we meet. He kitesurfs, I play volleyball, we both like yoga, climbing (only indoor for the moment) and long walks.

We live 15 mins away from St Heliers beach, shops, restaurants and cafés, close enough to the CBD that is easily accessed by public transport. The appartment is under the main house, with little noise insulation (and we have young children) simple and independent with toilet and a simple kitchen (microwave, fridge, kettler, sink, an electric stove but no oven - sorry)
The appartement is not fancy or flashy, but comfortable enough.

You would have your own room, your own entrance, with a double bed (see picture), toilet and kitchen. There is unlimited Internet and a small grassy patch to relax (and have a veggie garden!?).

Wha... more inside

Now the Covid "lockdown" is over we're keen to host another Help X-er or possibly two. We require help in the gardens/paddocks for a week or two. Mostly weeding, planting some trees, and some housework. Experience with garden tools (lawn mower) useful, and experience with a chainsaw/scrub cutter is useful but is not essential. Sorry, we don't have time to teach, so experience in at least some of these areas is necessary. There may also be some housework, like helping in the kitchen, cleaning and dusting/vacuuming/polishing if weather is too bad for gardening. Also packing some household items in reparation for us to move house in a few months.
Apart from the work there are plenty of local activities and amenities like surf beaches, vineyards, bush walks, trail bike riding, etc:
We are in a country area (vineyards, orchards, market gardens) with well-equipped village nearby but only 20 mins drive from Auckland city, the East Coast (safe, sandy) and West Coast (wild, surfi... more inside

We are a male couple in our 40's. We live in the rural area of Bombay, south of Auckland and at the start of the Waikato. We are close to the motorway, 45 minutes drive to Auckland and 1 hours drive to Hamilton.

Originally from Australia, we moved to NZ in 2008 and purchased a 100 year old wooden house set amongst approximately half a hectare of landscaped ornamental and edible gardens with 8 hectares of undulating grazing land dissected by various streams. We have a flock of chickens producing fresh eggs.

We both work full-time and have lots of jobs that need doing. These include ongoing garden maintenance, home renovation and improvement projects and land rehabilitation work such as fencing and planting. Anyone competent to help around the house/garden would be much appreciated.

We have a large spare room with a queen size bed, ideally suited for a couple or friends who don't mind sharing, with shared bathroom facilities. In exchange for 4 hours work per day we... more inside

Hello kiwis and any backpackers in NZ ...

We're looking for some help during lambing this month.

From now through August we will have over 2000 lambs born!

I require some help feeding the orphan baby lambs, running the house and with the children.

My girls are 4 & 11. They are with their Dad's 50% of the time. You'll get plenty of opportunities to come out on the farm, go on walks, ride the horses and enjoy the serenity.

We are a traditional New Zealand farming family, been here for generations (5th up and coming).

Our extended family, mainly breed Sheep and Cattle (for wool & meat). We also rear and fatten dairy calves, on 1700 acres.

You'll have the opportunity to be part of a NZ farming family.

Glen Murray is a thriving community & a beautiful part of New Zealand!

We enjoy the company of outgoing, motivated, fun people, that have a passion for life.

If you like and have some experience with children, can cook, enjoy the outdoors, have an int... more inside

I have so enjoyed the helpxers who have stayed and achieved so much on my property.

Currently I need help with garden - mainly weeding and composting, animals and house care.

I live on a lifestyle block, in the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges, West Auckland.

I have a double room available. The usual is to give a place to stay and food, in exchange for four hours of your energy each day. You are welcome to come and help 4 hours each day, OR put in an 8 hour Saturday day then enjoy a free Sunday, OR 6 hours on 2 days to have one day free.

In line with my concern for the environment, while most Auckland residents have their poos pumped to the harbours, I have chosen composting toilets.
Although registered as organic really I am only spray free (not a helpx category yet), which means there is so much to do on the property. I have a few sheep, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, so help is needed with weeding, gardening, clearing drains, animal care, fencing, and also help ar... more inside

Come live in my Tiny House for a few weeks.
Handy, practical, easy going people wanted for help with garden tasks, painting a house truck and small projects around the home.
e.g
Sanding and grinding and priming of old truck to get it ready to paint.
Clearing and planting a new garden.
Tree Trimming and Pruning.
Putting down some carpet tiles.
Helping me with a novel recycling business.
Not all weeding I promise!

Suit a couple. We are mainly vegetarian.
You can have your own little house, bathroom and kitchen. If you want to work less and be independent with food we can do that.
My home is in a lovely part of the city fringe close to bush, beach and funky cafes and bars. We have bikes etc
We have been hosting for 10 and a half years now. Please see our great feedback.

Would suit a couple or 2 friends who will keep each other company when not working. If you are happy to share a bed.

Reasonable English preferred.

We are 4 lovely nut jobs living in a big blue bungalow in Mangere Bridge- Auckland’s hidden gem! We are surrounded by sea, a mountain and a beautiful farm down the road and near the major train lines.

We are doing some landscaping and minor renovation works right now so work Is varied depending on skills. A bit of cooking or hanging with the kids are options too. We are active (so active that group photo is the best we can get!) and are often on an adventure to the beach, a concert, the snow or The Bush and your welcome to join us when we go. We and are looking for a couple to come and join the fun.

Im a Kiwi and my partner is French, we speak French and English at home. The kids (3 and 4 years) also understand some Spanish from having a Chilean teacher.

Some help 4 hours a day in exchange for board and food would be great. People need to be pretty independent and be able to monitor this themselves as we are pretty relaxed.

We would like people who can stay anywhere f... more inside
