We are a small family farm in a beautiful valley in Hawke's Bay and are looking for fun, energetic people to assist with a variety of property maintenance as we set up for a sheep dairy. We have quite a lot of physical work, clearing of land, firewood, landscaping, digging, fencing, sheep work etc. Also possibly some childcare, our kids are aged 6 & 7. Work is approx 5 hours/day for full board, 3 meals a day as well as helping generally with the house i.e helping with meals, dishes etc. Accommodation is in your own private sleepout with a luxury King or twin beds & own bathroom. We are a busy family and have had heaps of experience hosting on another property before. We really enjoy the value helpers bring to us and hope they have a very enjoyable stay with a typical kiwi farming family in a very beautiful part of NZ.

We are a family with 6 children: 13, 11, 9, 7, 4 and 2 (older 3 are girls and younger 3 are boys). We homeschool our children (Waldorf/Steiner method). The children play instruments so there is lots of music (suzuki method). Stephen works fulltime, and I work part-time. We are an active family. Children bike places and love to play sport (hockey, netball, cricket, tennis, scouts and cubs), we have a tennis court across the road and park around the corner.
We love nature, camping and tramping and get out when we can (Will depend on space in the car if we can take you, or you can take children out perhaps).
We are close to the town centre (15 min walk).
We eat mostly organic and bio-dynamic food all made at home, some grown in our garden. You can learn to make sourdough bread, yoghurt, perhaps cheese, saurkraut or other healthy fermented foods. We eat mostly gluten-free and grind our own flour.

The help we need is hanging and bringing in washing, cooking/food preparation, ... more inside

We live between Hastings and Havelock North in a quiet rural location. We run a flock of breeding ewes, and we have 1 hectare planted in cherry trees and boysenberries. At various times of the year we seek help with our sheep, gardening, and farm maintenance. We have two friendly cats, 3 super friendly dogs, and 4 busy hens on the farm. We have two comfortable bedrooms with your own bathroom in a separate part of the house. We prefer hosting more than one person at a time ~ 2 to 4 is ideal. We supply all food and cooking facilities in exchange for help for about 4 hours a day. Happy to cater for vegetarians, vegans and omnivores! During December and January we book in helpers for two weeks at a time while one week to 10 days seems to suit most helpers at other times of the year. We provide local maps and information on places of interest in our area, also two bicycles, with high viz vests and helmets. There are two kayaks for exploring the Irongate Stream. Unlimited WiFi.

We are an organically based beekeeping and honey processing company adhering to Rudolf Steiner principles of natural living. Processing our own product allows us to supply an unheated product, ensuring an undamaged enzyme count with botanicals and a complex flavour to the pallet.

The volunteer work will involve a variety of cleaning up hive gear, helping to jar and process honey, labelling, making beeswax candles, propolis creams, preparing the bee gear, building and (in the right season) visiting the hives.

Our work exchange is 24 hours a week for full board and 3 healthy meals a day. We have a vegetable garden that you can harvest from for meals.

Very relaxed and easy going environment/people, great food and good company. Only a short bus or car ride into town, not too far to bike but probably a little too far to walk. We have 4 bicycles available to use. Around the Hawkes Bay are 168 kilometers of bike trails, many right along the beautiful coastline.

Possumbend is a lifestyle property just of state highway 2 within walking distance of morere hot springs reserve and about 20 minutes drive to the beaches of the mahia peninsula. The gisborne/wellington bus stops here twice daily.
After quite a few years being a wooffer/helper myself, I brought this property with the intention of growing my own fruit and vegetables, fishing and hunting. Its still a learning experience for me and there are a few things I can't grow but still enjoy (good coffee, wine etc).
Helpers work about 4 hours a day.At the moment its mainly gardening and some housework. Also, if you like cooking, i enjoy trying new recipes/meals etc. I prefer easy going people with a good sense of humour who are adventurous. Would suit a couple of friends or a single person who wants a break from the city.
I am a paddleboard instructor and also do volunteer shift work with St Johns ambulance service so need people who don't mind working independently on ocassion. In my spar... more inside
