We have a house in Hunterville and a house in Taupo. We live in a small rural town 45 mins in proximity to Palmerston North and Wanganui and 2 and 1/4 hours to Taupo.
We both work but have no children at home as they have grown graduated and working.
It is a small friendly country community with lots of activities such as touch rugby tennis squash, rugby, close to the Rangitikei river for swimming fishing and rafting. 1 hour to Ohakune for skiing in the winter.
We water ski during the summer in Taupo
As our children are away from home now we need some general maintenance on both homes painting inside and out, roof on a rental property that needs attention and painting and a house in Taupo which needs painting and the spouting replaced.
Really we are able to provide accommodation in return for painting and some roofing and plumbing work.

We are a family of 4, Karl and I have been married for 15 years, we love the outdoors and our animals. We have cows, calves dogs cat chickens and a friendly pet goat. We are also a very horse competent family and have horses to ride if that interests you.
Our oldest boy is at boarding school but our youngest is still at home. We have only been living at this property for 6 months and it needs some TLC! The gardens are large but under control, and tidy. If you chose to stay with us we would be interested in some help in the garden and farm work if that interests you.
Karl and I have both lived abroad and we spent 16 months living in singapore with our 2 boys 3 years ago.
Karl can speak very basic Malay and I can speak very basic Japanese. I have spent 2 years living in japan.

We are a small rural outdoor education/camp facility mainly hosting school groups, based a short distance from Wanganui. You will get the opportunity to try a number of activities while here including kayaking, Stand up paddle board, target shooting, water slide and swimming, archery. Nearby beaches, The Whanganui river and rural life in NZ.

We have our main camp season during school terms 1 + 4 (October – Dec + Feb – April) so have a mix of work around the camp and in the kitchen. Happy to host a couple, we would add some variety into the mix, possibly some gardening and property care etc depends on your skills.
There is always plenty of things that need to be done, from machinery maintenance, grounds maintenance, construction and repairs to helping build a website. The camp season dictates what the priority is but outside of that its generally flexible. I do my best to show my helpers around and usually take them out if they don’t have a vehicle and generally try to include ... more inside

Oct--Nov 2017
We have work around the house which includes - water blasting, stacking firewood, sanding and painting windows and planting a new garden.
We would host with evening meals and breakfast.
You can work at your leisure, fitting in other activities.
This work would be near the main town of Raetihi.
If the weather is suitable then the original add follows.

Wilderness experience
Remote cabin on the Manganui-o-te-ao River
Solar power
Wood fire
Work in progress
Great fishing and swimming holes nearby, native bush surrounds
We would like a couple of keen people to help stain (paint) a deck and around windows etc
Not hard for maybe two - three days at your leisure - and you get to holiday in a really cool part of NZ. Wilderness areas, tramping around Mt Ruapehu or bike rides to the Wanganui River.
No easy access so you must stay on site, but we will take you in with plenty of supplies.
Ideally sometime after mid November 2017 to April 2018 depends on weather a ... more inside

We would love some help in the garden and around the house! We have a lifestyle property situated between Marton and Hunterville.
We have a number of animals on the property including pigs, Alpaca's and beef heifers. Our home is an historic homestead and has a large garden that would be very grateful for some attention and assistance.
Jobs could include - garden maintenance, helping with feeding animals, cleaning windows, washing the house (outside), weeding in the garden, mowing lawns, pulling thistles, tiding up sheds, gardening, and maybe some painting.
We have a bedroom within the house that sleeps three (single beds, double available) with its own bathroom and toilet facility for you to use.
5 hours help a day will give you meals and board.
There is lots to do near here, 2 hours from the ski fields, 2 hours from Wellington, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay and Taupo. 45 minuets from either Palmerston North or Whanganui. Bulls and Marton are cool wee towns and are 16km and 8km a... more inside

We're 3 years into living on our permaculture farmlet and a newly built home. We have a new and expanding orchard and garden and have planted hundreds of trees. We need help with everyday tasks like weeding, mulching, mowing, planting etc etc. We have a dog, lambs to fatten, magpies and countless native birds who enjoy our bird corridor. We're 22kms from Whanganui so having your own car is an advantage though most of our WWOOFers haven't had one. There's a beach at the end of our road - 7kms away and a few hiking tracks that are close. We prefer couples or 2 friends who don't mind sharing the bed in the caravan. There is a dedicated helper bathroom and toilet close by. For short stints, we take 4 helpers who share our spare room in the house which has an ensuite. All meals are taken with us. Stays are no longer than 2 weeks at a time. We cannot cater for vegetarians.
Helpers that best suit us are self starters who complete their tasks, honest, have common sense and a good sense of... more inside
