Help! We need hardworking fun people to help with milking, cooking, pruning, yard work, firewood, and building projects. We have a small family dairy farm, milking 80 cows, alongside a beautiful trout fishing river. Lots of native plantings, and large vegetable garden. We have a solar powered house with composting toilet. My name is Mali and I'm in charge of farm work. My boys are 9 and 12, they are in charge of play and mischief. Their granny is Heather, and she's in charge of feeding us, and keeping up with homework. We need helpers who want to be part of our family and community, while experiencing life on a kiwi dairy farm. Jobs include housework, cooking, lawns, milking, stock work. We can find something to suit any skill level. At the moment we are half way through the season, and we'll underway with our new accommodation! Upcoming jobs are haymaking, pruning and gardening. Very busy so anyone coming now needs to be keen to get involved. Missing our last lovely helper, and... more inside

Lifestyle property farming the gorgeous valais Blacknose sheep. . Also 3 horses and poultry. Early 20th Century renovated villa with two guest rooms. Friendly dog and wary farm cats. Handy to train going to Wellington or Masterton and half hour walk to Featherston itself. Helpers will not be worked too hard - just odd jobs that might be things like handing me some gear while trimming sheep feet, or being the "huntaway" dog at the rear of mobs that need moving. Otherwise tidying, light gardening, lawn-mowing. And if you are a very good horse rider then you can spend your work hours on horseback!
Your own transport preferred. Food supplied but best you cook your own as I am always outside!

We moved to this lovely country paradise 5 years ago from the city. It was time to have a new adventure. We now have a large, but struggling vege garden, 2 mum goats and 4 gorgeous babies, 7 cheeky chickens, a goose and a horse. We also have 3 very friendly dogs who love country living and 2 kittens. We would love to have some help with developing the place. Gardening, fencing and general handyperson work is what we are looking for. You would have your own room - or share if there are two of you, and all meals. We'd like you to feel like you are part of the family. If you'd like to learn to milk a goat by hand and make cheese I am happy to teach you if the season is right.

It is time to find some more helpers as I am missing my cultural experience and also have lots of jobs to do. Currently there is some moving of tools etc into a new shed and building shelves.

If you enjoy interacting with a Kiwi host, playing pictionary and having fun, then come join me for a week or even longer if things go well.

You need to be enthusiastic about working-lots of easy farm jobs, gardening, painting, waterblasting, the list goes on. I will match the jobs with your skills but also teach you new skills that are not too hard.
Projects to be done to personalise your experience.

My farm is 10kms off State Highway 1 towards Wellington, very easy to stop off on your way to the ferry!

I am middle aged woman who runs a 25ha farm with beef cattle and goats in a small rural village 30mins from Palmerston North in the North Island of New Zealand. My house is 1km away from the seaside which is good for fishing and swimming.

I work in the dairy industry from home s... more inside

We are a family of 5 living on the property. We live 10 minutes drive south of Levin and 15 minutes north of Otaki.

We are fully booked over christmas and new years but will be interested in volunteers for late January 2019 onwards.

We are interested in organics, biodynamics and healthy living. Couples and solo travellers are welcome. My husband works at the local Maori University in environmental science and I am working as a social worker with young people.

Jobs on the property include, work in the gardens, property/house maintenance and household chores. Most jobs here are very physical so a good level of strength and fitness is required.

We live 15 minutes cycle from the beach and 10 minutes drive from the hills. So walking, swimming, biking and surfing are things we like to do and can try to help facilitate visitors to do also(however no beach activities in the winter months (its too cold!).

We all enjoy having visitors from around the world to our place a... more inside

We are looking for one or two helpers any time from now for about a week to ten days, to help with cleaning and painting our outdoor and deck area. Our last helpers could not finish those jobs cause the weather was too wet and windy. We are looking for someone who can handle a pressure washer, ideally has some experience painting fences and decks and can help with general gardening and weeding. We are a Kiwi-German-Italian family of 4 and two original Kiwi cats at the very edge of Palmerston North overlooking the Manawatu River. Palmerston North is halfway between Wellington and the Central Plateau Volcanos (Tongariro), and can be easily reached by Intercity Bus. We have a pretty luxurious downstairs bedroom with a comfortable double bed and its very own modern en-suite bathroom. The area is great for running, walking and cycling along the river just behind our garden fence, or to enjoy the benefits of a larger town, eg cinema, theatre, restaurants, shopping etc. We have bikes you ... more inside
