Calving has just finished. Feeding calves for another 6 weeks. Busy time on the farm. Helpx help needed on our dairy farm situated on the Kapiti Coast. 400 friesian cows, 100+ chickens, one small dog,one cat and our two young adult children. Accomodation is a converted old walk through cow shed. Two single beds,one queen bed, bathroom, toilet, open plan kitchen and lounge. Which is sometimes let out as an Air Bed and Breakfast, when there are guests, you`ll stay with us in our home. Duties would include helping to do waterblasting, gardening, cleaning, building, cutting firewood etc. Train station in Waikanae is an 8 minute drive away, Tararua Ranges for tramping 25 minute drive, beach 4 minute drive. We are a family of three living in Lower Hutt, 15 minutes north of Wellington City.

Mum is on parental leave at the moment, but returning to her job in the city in April.

Dad works from home and will be the primary caregiver for our 2-month old when Mum returns to work.

Millie is a 14-year-old cavoodle dog who spends most of her day sleeping but will jump on you in her excitement every time you come home.

We are looking for a helper to help keep our home clean and tidy. Depending on your skills you could also help with cooking, mowing and other chores. You'd work about 25 hours per week in exchange for a room and three meals a day. You could also arrange to use our second car sometimes.

We have a lovely 5-bedroom home with fantastic views of Wellington Harbour. You'll share the downstairs area of our home with the home office, including a bathroom you'll share with our business's employees and clients during the day.

We are looking for happy & outgoing individuals to help us with our gardens, weeding, weed spraying, firewood, fencing and general house maintenance and cleaning on our rural property of 126 acres.
We grow most of our vegetables in our glasshouses and gardens and any meat is from the farm or the local beach where we go fishing.

Hi there travelers,
My wife and I are developing a self sustainable small farm on 25 acres.
We farm sheep for meat, wool and milk. Goats for milk to make yoghurt and cheese. Chickens for eggs. We also grow and make our own hay for our animals and the equine market and to pay for expenses.
We are currently developing three permaculture kitchen gardens to provide us with vegetables, fruit, berries and nuts all year round. We are also slowly planting out the edges of our natural ponds and wet lands to improve the water and encourage the native wet land birds to stay and breed. Our farm has unimpeded expansive views over farm land and onto the Tararua ranges (Mountains)

Two-storey beach house 45 minutes north of Wellington.30 seconds walk to beach with
great views of Kapiti Island, Mana Island and the South Island. Great swimming and walking. Beautiful sunsets. A few minutes walk to Queen Elizabeth park and its great walking tracks with more spectacular views. I was on a farm prior to coming here which accounts for one or two of the older host reviews.
Accommodation is bottom-storey bedroom with bathroom next door. You will be working with one woman and two very friendly dogs.Three meals per day provided. Work could include gardening and landscaping,small renovation projects, cutting kindling and firewood, interior decorating,fence maintenance, assistance with art work and occasionally assisting with hanging art exhibitions.I am currently wanting help with gardening and cutting kindling. Hi, we are a Dutch/New Zealand family with 3 children aged between 16-25 years. We live on a beautiful lifestyle block in Te Horo close to the beach

Our youngest son Thijs is 17, terribly friendly and a very nice guy to have around. Stefan is 26, he is our outdoor man, hunts in his spare time and is currently working on an estate in the Highlands, Scotland. Dom, our middle son, is a painter and lives in Paekakariki. The other members are our 4 cats and 2 dogs plus Loki and Andy, our beautiful horses, 6 chickens and 7 sheep that are still to be named....

We are a happy, easy going family who like the outdoors, and we have embraced a lifestyle with natural and mostly free range/organic food. We also cater for those following the Paleo lifestyle.

Our block is about 8 acres and divided over 3 paddocks, some forest and gardens.

We are looking for HelpXers to stay with Dido from the 22nd of December to the 7th of January while the rest of the family are away. Jobs will include cooking, cleaning and gardening.

We are a family of 4: Myself, Amy, my two daughters and Dido (our great Aunt). I am 35 and the mother of Eleanor (8 years old) and Aoife (4 years old). I am studying to be a midwife. Dido is a meditation teacher, writer, and climate activist.
As a family, we are passionate environmentalists. We love to garden and are experimenting with a permaculture food forest in our back garden. We have chickens. The house is within walking distance to some great bush walks, and as a family, we keep active with bushwalking and cycling.
