PROJECT: Olive picking/harvest - Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May.

Greytown was awarded NZ most Beautiful Small town 2017. Our town is in the Wairarapa region - about 1.15 hours drive from Wellington

We are a couple in our late 40's that left the rat race in Auckland 8 years ago and decided to move to the country and change our lifestyle. We both have corporate jobs which involves traveling around the country.

Our property is a 3 acre lifestyle block located on Udy Street which is one of the prettiest streets in Greytown and a very popular walking route. There's a walking track at the end of our street that takes you through farmland and down to the river which is a great way to see some of the countryside. We have bikes available for you to use.

On our property we have 70 olive trees, 50 Fruit trees, a vegetable garden, a green house, lawns and flower beds

We have the following animals: 3 dogs, 2 cats, Sheep, 3 Alpacas, 2 Kunekune pigs, Chickens & Peking Ducks

We al... more inside

I do NOT need any help at the moment, probably until September / October 2019.

From then, I am possibly sometimes looking for people who can help around the house from time to time. Do get in touch if you have experience building retaining walls. In return, you will have some of the most impressive views in New Zealand, a comfy furnished room, kitchen, bathroom and lounge for shared use. Food, towels, bedding will be provided. There are a dozen steps down to the entrance of the house. You can see more about the place via the two website links above.

I am pretty flexible with working hours. Some helpers loved the opportunity to have one day on, one off, which gave them full days to explore Wellington. You will also have three meals a day. There is free parking on the road.

Hi... We have space if you like weeding (sorry it's not more exciting but in autumn weeding & mulching is all we need)... please get in touch if you would like to help us.

Paradise between the sea & the hills, in sunny Te Horo on the beautiful Kapiti Coast (see photo of Kapiti Island from Te Horo Beach).

We've built a comfortable place for you to stay (the purple cabin)... now come & help us get the rest of the property up to scratch.

We have cows, chooks, ducks & cats. Only small numbers and very easy to manage.

We grow as much food & meat as we can and enjoy a healthy outdoors life.

Come and help us with a few projects... always lots of weeding, gardens to maintain, paddocks to improve, and there are always jobs in the vege garden & orchards.

I regularly make bread & cheese, bake amazing scones and cakes and would like to share and learn from your culture.

We ask for five hours effort per day in return for staying at our place with great food, a warm bed and... more inside

Hi there,
We are looking for help with the garden. It has been neglected and needs weeding, digging over and preparing for winter. We also have some replanting of native trees to do, as well as miscellaneous other jobs in the garden.

Good experience in garden work is preferable so that you can undertake things independently.

We live in Wilton atop Te Ahumairangi Hill with great views and sun. The park is our back yard and it is a short walk to the north end of town.

We have 3 kids so any guests need to be child friendly!

Guests have a separate sunny double room with great views and will be part of our family whilst they stay with us.

Look forward to hearing from you soon...

Martin

Hello,

We are looking for someone or a couple who would like to come stay in our family home. We are a busy family with a 2 year old girl so ideally would love quiet people who will respect our home.

We would love help with gardening (planting/weeding/pruning - therefore garden experience would be fantastic), outdoor maintenance/handywork around the house (as we have quite a large property!) and maybe cooking! Our house has lots of bush and garden areas for you to enjoy and is a quiet and peaceful spot with a beautiful deck. You would have your own room and bed and welcome to stay a few nights with us (**3 nights maximum currently**) - breakfast and dinner provided and free wifi.

We are 20-25 minutes to town in Wellington or 5 minutes to Lower Hutt. There are trains and buses which run into town for you to go exploring.

Merci.

On parle franšais aussi :)

We fish and hunt for some of our food. We are not able to host vegans.

Looking to spend some time in Wellington?
**Max stay 3 or 4 days**

I have a lovely sunny 3 bedroom villa in Berhampore, just 4kms south of the city and 2kms from the South Coast, on a popular bus route (or free street parking). I live with 1 flatmate (female) and my 11 month old daughter.

I am currently time poor with an active bubba keeping me busy and cannot get in to the garden or get through the list of things I would like to before winter arrives. So I'm looking for someone or a couple (or friends who are happy to share a queen bed) to help get my to do list under control.

Potential tasks on the list at the moment are:
- Washing down exterior house and windows
- Clean windows inside
- Cleaning out enclosed porch (sweeping, window sills etc.)
- Re-potting plants
- Tidy pots not in use so not blown around in wind.
- General gardening - weeding
- Mow lawns (very small lawn area only takes 5mins with hand mover)
- Weed brick paths and patio area.
- Some spring c... more inside

We are just 35mins from Wellington by train and at the start of the beautiful Escarpment Track. We are looking for some people to help us dig holes so we can build a retaining wall. Also, there is some work creating an organic veggie patch and some maintenance round the grounds. This work will sometimes be with us and other times you will undertake it on your own. We would offer free accommodation in return for help. The accommodation is a large, clean and modern 1 bedroom studio apartment and has a wonderful large outside deck that sits amongst the trees - very peaceful. In return for volunteering your time, as well as accommodation, we can provide you with a wealth of knowledge about the local area and the potential to help at farm stays in other places.

Hi
I have a small cottage in Petone, old but comfortable, with a tiny garden. Petone is a pretty seaside town quite close to Wellington city. It has lots of cafes, a movie theatre, library, and two supermarkets as well as many little shops. My house is quite close to the river and the sea, about 10 minutes walk. I also live close to public transport - both train and bus. It takes 15 minutes by train to get to Wellington and 30 minutes by bus. During the day the buses and trains go every 30 minutes.
I am vegetarian. I like to read, listen to music, go for walks in the outdoors, go to concerts and movies and visit with friends. I don't have TV but do have wi-fi.
I decided to join HelpX as I enjoy meeting people from other places and would like some help with cooking, and some things around the house.

I am 60 years old and work at the university as a tutor. I enjoy playing music (bass guitar) and sometimes friends visit to play music too.

I am looking for help with some ... more inside

Hi, we live in Wellington in two old, turn of the century, historic cottages (1860`s) that are 200 paces above the street, private, set in the bush amongst the song of tui and kaka. It is an easy 20 minute walk into the central city.

Note: we are not a farm.

We are self-employed, busy and very hands on in all that we do. We are a couple with two adult daughters, one has recently returned home to live with us.
We provide all your food and accommodation, in exchange for about 8 hours help on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and 4 hours on Thursday. This gives you a 3 day weekend to explore and relax. (The hours can vary depending on whether we are in a middle of a job that must get finished - for example - building a roof before it rains). The accommodation is rough at the moment as we are in the middle of renovating these old cottages... if you don`t expect a palace you will be fine.

We need your skills in one of these areas:
1. Building and restoring the ... more inside
