Do you love the outdoors?
We are a small family in Fox Glacier.
We are looking for person or persons to give us a hand with general farm duties. This is a sheep and beef farm so there is always something needing to be done. It is the beginning of lambing and calving at the moment.
Accommodation is a queen room in our family home with all meals, laundry service and unlimited Wi-fi provided in return we ask for a minimum 4 hour day helping us with our day to day farm duties.
We have a son Peter who is 17 and mainly at boarding school other than during the holidays, so you will not get babysitting duty. We do have a house cat "Special" and a house dog "MaGoogin" and two working dogs Sam and Basil and a working puppy Spot. We have naughty chickens and a whole lot of baby chicks running around. Willow has a young pet goat Nicole who likes belly rubs.
So if this sounds like you drop us an email or a txt and when we are in coverage we will get back to you ASAP.

Hi
We are an older married couple, we have 2 small dogs 1 cat some chocks, sheep and 2 cows, we live 10 km from Hokitika own transport prefered. It is important if you are thinking of joining us to ring for directions as we are a little hard to find.

Our block of land is in need of a tidy up, eg.some help with fencing, collecting firewood, gardening helping to build a new chock run and house, also some indoor work when the weather is bad.

We are looking for happy positive people to help get our land tamed. The hours of work and meals will be negotiable. You will have a separate bedroom in our home which has a king sized bed, this can be change to 2 singles. There is a river on the boundary which is good for kayaking

The West Coast has fantastic lakes, bike trails, bush walks, beaches and rivers. Hokitika is a small tourist town where there is a glow worm dell, kiwi house, and jade factory and shop, also a glass shop, where they show how it is made.

Look forward to see... more inside

Looking for someone who is keen to work with animals and not afraid to get their hands dirty!

My husband (31) and I (29) own a dairy farm running 250 cows on the west coast of the South Island. We are situated right on the bush line and get a gorgeous view of the southern alps. Spring time - when the calves arrive (August - October), is our busiest time of the year. We rear all of the calves and milk the cows once a day in the morning times. We've also recently become a family of 3, our daughter is 14 months old. We'd love to host someone that is either interested in the farming side of things, rearing calves, fencing, spraying weeds, feeding out (general farm tasks) OR minding our daughter, taking her for walks, bathing etc and doing a few jobs around the house, possibly some cooking if you like cooking! Im also a keen vege gardner - which always needs some TLC.
It would be great if helpers could work at least 4hrs per day (for each night stayed) with the majority of the fa... more inside

Hello!

I am in the middle stages of multiple sclerosis. I just need help taking care of the garden and keeping the house tidy in exchange for accommodation and food. You will have your own room (depending on how many other people will be here), running water, a hot shower, warm living room, and fresh veggies to cook with. My property is located in the beautiful Springs Junction with lots of tracks to walk through around, and it's very easy to hitch out if needed because it is close to the main highway.

I have a car but am unable to drive it now, so it would be good if you had a valid drivers license or some sort of car.I cannot pick you up from Springs Junction and it is a 15 km walk to get here, very isolated. So a car is vital to get here:-)

Hi, I am a busy mum of three children who is after some helping hands around the house for a few days in exchange for your own private accommodation and some home cooked meals. Ideally you might be a female backpacker (although I would also consider a male, or a couple/ 2 people) who would like to spend between 3-6 days helping around our house and garden doing odd jobs eg cleaning, laundry, cooking, weeding etc also maybe spend some time playing games with our two children:8 and 7. I have just had another baby and basically just need an extra pair of hands to catch up on jobs and prepare meals. We live on a dairy farm in a beautiful farming valley 20 minutes drive inland from Hokitika. You would not be required to do any farm work unless you wanted to. Your accommodation would be a very lovely self contained flat located right by the beach in Hokitika and just 2minutes from the main shops. You would need your own vehicle and we would give you petrol money to drive to our house. ... more inside
