We are gearing up for the Wildfoods festival in Hokitika next weekend and would happily have some help! We will be doing food at the festival itself and in the week leading up, will need to prepare the equipment and items, prep the food and move everything to the site. If you would like to go the the Hokitika Wildfoods festival this year and are happy to help out in the tent on the day (and also go round the festival!) we would love to hear from you. Ideally you will arrive here in the next few days or at least before 3rd March as there is a lot to do in just a few days!! You don't need experience for this but you will need to have initiative and be able to see what needs doing and just get on with it. Many hands make light work! We will provide all your meals, wifi and accommodation in return for some help of approx 3 hours of work per day. We look forward to hearing from you! Cheers, Colin and Leanne

I have a lovely old house in a big rambling garden in a village close to the sea, beaches and great bushwalking tracks.. I'm looking for help with gardening, weeding, wood stacking, and inside jobs such as cleaning, sanding and painting.. Any light building skills much appreciated..
You will have ur own double room and shared bathroom, plenty of quiet garden areas to chill and read...a lovely relaxing place close to store for supplies and a pub/bistro.. I have two small friendly dogs and a cat.. No smokers thanks..
This area is close to Kahurangi National Park, the Heaphy Track and good hiking and mountain biking trails. A car would be useful..tho there are public buses and I can accommodate your travel needs to and from Westport (30kms south)

The area also has a lot of interesting history from a gold and coal mining past that you can explore. The beaches here are beautiful to walk on, but not to swim. There is a great public swimming pool close by.
I would like 3-5 hours... more inside

This place is known up and down the Coast in its former life as a Buddhist retreat, workshop space, honeymoon house, holiday house. Situated on the hillside view ocean views, the house was once part of a commune, and before that, gold mining took place on the ridges around the house. Close to the Paparoa National Park and only 10 minutes from world-famous Punakaiki in one direction, and 2.2km from Fox River in the other, we are surrounded by beautiful native bush, an abundant birdlife, and a feast of kai moana (seafood).
Now we live here and run accommodation in the summer months and in the winter have all sorts of jobs that need to be done - labouring, digging, gardening, cleaning, tidying, and a multitude of odd jobs.we also have a beautiful friendly dog.
Ideally we would like helpers to stay at least a few nights. In exchange for jobs, we provide a lovely cabin, meals and loads of stories about life in NZ!

We grow feijoa, tamarillo and black passionfruit for market. We also grow most of our own vegetables and other fruits. We have a flock of chooks, a friendly dog called Wallace and a pretty recreational garden.

We are on the edge of an estuary and 5 minutes bike ride from the beach.

We are close to the villages of Karamea and Market Cross, about 5 mins bike ride to one and 10 mins to the other.
We are 20 mins from the Heaphy Track, 30 mins from the Wangapeka track and 40 mins from the Oparara Arches car park.
There are several other walkways and walking tracks close by.
Beach and river fishing spots are also close by and you are welcome to try out our rods and nets.
We have 2 pushbikes you can use anytime.
The accommodation is separate from the house and has a kitchen, bedroom and compost toilet. At this point the shower is at the main house but if you are interested in creating a nice shower space nearer to your space there then we are keen to help you try your idea out.... more inside

We are looking for a couple of people to help doing mainly garden work and light landcscaping. There is also usually work in the art gallery when it is raining or for other-abled folks. We are really happy to host vegetarian/vegan, LGBTQ, traveler-hippy-punk and otherwise 'alternative' folks.
Our property is directly on the Main Coastal Road and is just a 3 minute walk from the beach. There are beautiful walkways and sights all around the area, including river mouths, lagoons and even seal colonies. We are actually just a tiny semi-urban farmlet with a few chickens, 2 crafty cats and a loveable dog, but we run a little art gallery and tattoo studio so constantly run out of time for taking care of all the details of keeping the gardens and the rest of the property in top shape. The jobs would include things like weeding gardens, trimming hedges, mulching, turning compost, etc (or for other-abled people you could keep the gallery open, do light cleaning and canning or help in the ... more inside

Hi We are Colleen and Ray, living on the beachfront 3km north of Hokitika.
We have to be in Christchurch for operation from the 27 January for 4 nights so particularly need someone for that time to look after our stone mat factory shop.
We have a stonemat making business and a factory shop where we live. We also have holiday accommodation.
There is always plenty of gardening, tidying, painting and cleaning to do.
The work is for 4 hours a day (usually mornings)
If you are work fit, motivated and have a positive attitude, we would be happy to hear from you. Please do not phone us or text but email us - we read our emails often.
Let us know if you eat meat (we do) and if you have your own transport.

Cheers Colleen and Ray
