Hello helpers,

** Sorry but we will not be taking further bookings from helpers for a while given the ongoing issues with COVID-19.**

We've been a helpx host for over 2 years, having previously seen it work so well with our neighbours. It has been great fun and we've enjoyed meeting so many new people from around the world. Looking forward to meeting more, helping them explore the area and at the same time, sorting out our garden and helping out around the house.

We are located in the countryside near Arrowtown among beautiful NZ scenery with views of the Wakatipu basin. Our home is situated on a one hectare plot. By car, we are 5 mins to Arrowtown, 10 mins to Queenstown Airport and 20 mins to Queenstown. All pics are from and in our home.

Originally from the UK, we lived in Australia for 12 years and have now settled in NZ.
We are looking for ideally 2 people (a couple) to help us with landscaping, gardening and painting. We would also expect you to help around t... more inside

We would like to host TWO helpers traveling together for 1-3 weeks. All of March and early april is available for an exchange.

We are Caro (37) and Ed (44), a couple living with our child, Mo (6), our handsome cat Captain Springs and our friendly chicken Heihei Ferichito.

Our home is in beautiful Careys Bay. 15-minute drive to Central Dunedin. A short walk to Port Chalmers, a lively seaside village with a great library, attractive shops, cafes/restaurants and cosy pubs with regular live music. Out the windows we see Otago harbour and the Peninsula. The Historic Careys Bay Pub is a 5-minute walk around the bay. 10-min drive to Aramoana, the mouth of the harbour, with a surf beach, cliffs, and a historic spit with fur seals and other wildlife. The beaches over the hills behind us toward Waitati are absolutely magnificent. Our house is warm and cosy. We go into Dunedin frequently if you need a ride into the city and there is also a regular bus service :-)

We live on the Otago Peninsula, but are only 20 minutes away by car or bus to Dunedin. We are a busy family of four, slightly chaotic but easy going, friendly and welcoming. My husband is very busy and so I'm looking for somebody to help me in the garden. There are some hedging plants to dig up and new ones to plant; apples to pick, general weeding and also wood to chop.

If you're with Helpx and looking for a Kiwi experience then maybe we can help each other. We could really do with some extra hands gardening, painting, small building jobs etc.

We live in an old home, built in 1877. It's pretty big and has a tennis court, indoor swimming pool, a giant snooker table, chickens, sheep and a lovely river and a great swing bridge too.
There are always lots of jobs to do.
We have several bedrooms, all have big beds and private bathrooms. WiFi too. We provide and cook all your meals.
In exchange if you can put in a mornings work we would be very grateful.
We are near the coast, north of Dunedin.

I am a retired restaurateur, have travelled extensively and enjoy swapping stories.... and rebuilding old Landrovers. And Julia is an importer and distributor of leather.

We have chickens, sheep, sometimes a horse and our cat.

Get in touch and see if we can work out some dates to suit you.

Regards,
Justin and Julia.

I have settled in Aotearoa in 1983 after leaving Germany and travelling the world extensively. My field of work is alternative medicine.
I live in a beautiful home overlooking the Blueskin Bay and we are part of an idealistic community aiming for self-sustainability and connectedness. You will find a variety of stunning beaches, where Xaver stumbled over a penguin last night, as well as walks in the Silver Peaks with mountain huts and plenty of bird life. The neighbouring Orokonui Ecosanctuary is a further attraction. The drive to historic Dunedin takes 20 minutes.
You will be accommodated in our own cosy sleepout, so will have your privacy.I am happy to share the meals with you and my cooking isn't suposed to be too bad.
The work would envolve gardening, lawn mowing, wood chopping or other odd jobs.A fair exchange seems to be 3-4 hours work per day. Looking forward to meet up with some enthusiastic, likeminded travelers.

Hi everybody - we're in need of someone with building skills to finish off a freestyle shed made from pallets and a random assortment of windows. We have a great helper at the moment - he's a builder but he has to leave on the 16th of March and won't be able to finish the job.
So if you have building experience and you think you can help we'd love to host you anytime from the 16th on.
We are developing a permaculture garden and orchard.
At the moment we are terracing the large part of the section with brick walls and steps built with whatever recycled materials come to hand - a very long term project which needs constant help from our wonderful helpers.
Another job that we are hoping to get help with is building a small shed out of pallets - so any of you crafty carpenter types out there would be especially welcome.
We are also developing a fernery and planting out native hedges - so there are fantails and keruru in abundance. Though the development is sometimes hard work, i... more inside
