We are currently looking for people who can help with gardening, pasture management, cutting grass and doing work around the farm.

If you are a confident and experienced horse rider, this is the place for you. We have 2 quarter horses and if you stay with us, it is all about the horses. We ride Western but English riders are very welcome as well. So, if you are passionate about horses, this is the place for you. But if you just like to enjoy life on the farm that's fine too!

We live on a 108 acre property about 1.5 hours northwest of Melbourne. There is always more work on the farm than we can manage ourselves - gardening (lots of weeds, unfortunately which means that we do a lot of weeding), cleaning horse stalls, keeping stables and paddocks clean, wood cutting, grass slashing, fencing, brush clearing, etc. So, we are looking for helpers who are keen to get involved in outdoor activities and help with lots of small farm projects. This is physical work, so it is quite imp... more inside

Covid Update - please only contact us if you have not travelled within the last 14 days or have been in contact with other travellers.
We currently have room for ONE helper from 22 May - 30 May. Must be fit.

Hi!

We live in a quiet and sweet little village in Central Victoria, approx 1.5hr from Melbourne.

We have a 2 acre property, a recycled house, a small person, a small dog, a messy garden and many unfinished projects!

We have completed building a passive solar earth house on the same block (for Grandma). We like travels, natural building, permaculture, podcasts, slack lining, creative pursuits, music and food.

We are looking for happy, independent, physically fit helpers. We've hosted many happy travellers, though not yet through helpx. Above all we are looking for the right person/people for a great exchange, so please write and share some details about yourself. We can host one person, or one couple (there is only one bed)

Happy travels.

Soon Covid-19 will loosen its grip on our lives. As soon as the government says it’s ok to travel, then we are open to taking HelpX guests again.
We hope you can join us.
Currently looking for keen and energetic people who can join us in making our piece of Paradise even better. We're looking for people who can start from now onwards.

Projects for this Autumn/Winter include renovating our timber veranda, building some wicking beds for the vegetable garden, transplanting seedlings, and building a fancy-fairytale chook (chicken) shed that would fascinate kids.

There may also be other work:
getting our berry patch ready, composting, mulching, chainsawing of storm fallen trees & limbs, weed & grass control, mowing, pruning, fixing garden beds and irrigation systems, netting of fruit trees, net repair, tidying up the property, firewood, cooking.

Welcome to the beautiful Daylesford region! We are Jill and Phil. We have relocated to the picturesque town of Ballan from South Australia where we were active hosts for many years.
The property has enormous garden areas that constantly need clearing and tidying and we always have new projects in mind. At the moment we are developing a new accommodation compound fir a new business venture. I (Jill) cook for local cafes and do larger catering jobs and always need a hand in the kitchen.

We grow veggies and have many pets - 3 goats, 1 alpaca, 3 sheep 8 chickens, 4 Muscovy ducks, a guinea fowl and a cat (Misty) who rules the house. A new Puppy, Daisy, had just arrived...and she is trying to be number one.

There will always be plenty to do - even just a lazy house sit from time to time as we do go back to Adelaide a lot. Ballan is well situated with transport in Western Victoria and there is a train directly to/from Melbourne which takes under an hour. Close by In either directi... more inside
