The chance to stay in an original 1890 "Old Queenslander" - built completely of timber. I have
14 very private acres of bush in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland (sub tropical)...just 20 minutes from the beaches of Mooloolaba and Maroochydore and 100km north of Brisbane. The acreage is an old over worked farm so I am rebuilding the soils so I can again grow vegetables etc. At present I am creating gardens and lawns and slowly clearing scrub and renewing soils to create more gardens.
Helpers will assist in all aspects of the operation - clearing vegetation, landscaping, garden creation, path and general maintenance plus bush fire prevention clearing. I am also building a miniature steam railway around a part of the property so welders, carpenters very welcome ! Usually go to the beach once a week and shopping twice a week.
You will be accommodated indoors in your own room - strictly NO SMOKING or drugs inside or anywhere near the house or during times of fire bans. I cook me... more inside

This zoo is located on the edge of the Daintree National Park, 25km north of Mossman and 5km south of the turnoff to Cape Tribulation. Wonga Beach is about a 35min walk and Mossman is about a 15min drive (we drive into town each morning for anyone wishing to venture in).

The Zoo is set in 4.5 hectares (10 acres) of tropical gardens and comprises several guest BandB style accommodation rooms (including a large pool) and some 120 species of Australian native birds, mammals and reptiles including crocodiles, kangaroos, cassowaries, emus, dingos and wombat to name a few.

Volunteers typically assist with daily feeding of animals and birds, cleaning enclosures, gardening, painting, light construction work and at times, assisting with the preparation of the accommodation rooms. We also have a farm 250 klms west of here, and some time we go out there for a couple of days,to help with other building projects. We would love to hear from people who can work with their hands to help with... more inside

Hello helpers! We are a little family living on a rural property near Lake Barrine, on the Atherton Tablelands. Brett is Australian, Caroline is French, and we have a baby, Ellinjaa (10 months old), and a dog, Izzy. We live a simple life.

There's a lot a jobs, big and small, to be done, so we wouldn't mind a hand at the moment. Jobs are mostly building and gardening. They include:
- building a outdoor deck/veranda
- cutting grass
- making woodchips for mulching
- weeding big woody weeds
- and more!

It doesn't matter if you don't have any building or gardening experience, as long as you are willing to have a go.
We will ask you to do about 4h of work a day, 6 days a week. Mostly in the morning, but sometimes in the afternoon. It's flexible.

Our accommodation is pretty basic, as we don't have a real house to live in yet. We will build an earthbag house, hopefully next year. We use compost toilets. But we do have gas hot water, off grid solar power, washing machine, woo... more inside

SORRY BUT I CANNOT TAKE ANY HELPX IN UNDER THE CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES. STAY SAFE EVERYONE

My rainforest home is located only a 5 minute walk to the Kuranda Village & famous markets and close to the mighty Barron Falls. There are also numerous rainforest walks nearby. Cairns and the best beaches are only 30 minutes by car and I can pick you up either in Cairns or at the airport if you do not have a car. I travelled the world for 6 years in the 70's and I now welcome guests from all countries to enjoy this beautiful place that I have called home for nearly 40 years. Non smokers preferred.

Work is mainly outside in my large landscaped garden and bromeliad nursery as well as maintaining the bank of a permanent creek which is my property's rear boundary. Alternatively there is always some light household duties and painting to do when the weather is either too hot or raining outside. In exchange for 4 hours work per day, you will have your own air-conditioned bedrooms, healthy meals... more inside
