We have 108 ha of land under conservation covenant to help protect endangered plants and animals. We are aiming to grow as much food as possible in our garden, have our own bees, and catch our own seafood. Fully off-grid with solar power, rain water and composting toilets.
Work for helpers may include gardening, honey extraction, small building projects and work on land under conservation.
Accommodation for helpers is in a cosy Mongolian yurt. Helpers must have own transport as we are 10 minutes from Bicheno, a small seaside town. We can offer 3-5 days work, with extension to be negotiated depending on work available.
There are many beautiful beaches nearby, surf, diving; and a National Park with beautiful walks.
Mobile phone reception is limited, non-smokers only please.

We run a small gourmet mushroom business, supplying growing cultures to other growers, and fresh mushrooms to local restaurants. Our farm is home to Tasmanian Devils, Platypus, Quolls and other wildlife, as well as our chooks and ducks. We have 2 children, 13 and 15 yrs old, and a large dog. We are establishing an orchard, large vege gardens, and a small goat dairy, and a few sheep. We would like help with building, gardening, milking the goats, as well as general farm work. Happy to teach helpers how to grow gourmet mushrooms. Accommodation is in a caravan, down by the dam. Wifi is in the house, sometimes it reaches the caravan. There is mobile reception in the van.

Family of four: Steph, Dave, Ollie (2yrs) and Millie (4months).

We have a small hobby farm located 40min from Launceston including cows, sheep, a goat, a dog, chickens and two pet birds! Occasionally we also have a pig or two!

We would be after people who could help out with a range of tasks from General house cleaning (windows, floors, etc) to gardening to helping with the animals!

As our children are so small we are very careful to look out for our little ones! Experience with small children would be essential!

We would be looking at having one person or two people! You would have your own room and food in exchange for 4-5hrs help which could be flexible and varied! Assistance with day to day living tasks would not be included as part of the help hours! Due to the little ones a minimum of 1 week stay would be ideal, maximum could be negotiated depending on what we have available!

Our house is off grid and we are interested in self sustainability in all forms! We lo... more inside

My husband I live on approximately 12 hectares with most of it being native bush. It is not a farm. Sadly, we don't grow anything and we have no animals.

We are not vegetarians so we have meat with most meals. We are non-smoking, so NO smokers please. We also enjoy social drinks.

From the beginning of October we would really appreciate help with the maintenance of the house, yard and pasture. There is almost everything and anything to be done. The work may require using a brushcutter, chainsaw, ride-on mower, axe/splitter, garden tools, weed sprayer, and some hard yakka with a pick and hoe. What needs to be done is gardening, weed management, fencing, and building raised garden beds and some small building/renovation jobs.

We are happy to try different food so if you can cook, you are most welcome to share the cooking.

My husband is a building designer and project manager and works as a sole trader, and I am a public servant with a background in community deve... more inside

Do you love nature? what about off grid living? How about great food and great company? We need your help with our dream. We are located in a gorgeous mountain/ bush setting, totally off grid. The work is different everyday as we hope to teach many things to our fellow travelers. We want to hear about your experiences, and learn from you as well. We want to share our experience in alternative living with you not just have you come and work. We are relaxed people and like to work 4-5 hours per day, some in the morning and some in the afternoon. We need help with cob making, bottle brick making, rendering, gardening, landscaping, horse care, harvesting and much more. Such is the life on a property in the bush. You can sleep in a tent, a tipi, or a hut. Camping space is also available. There are amazing bush walks all outside our back door. The weather is changeable; hot to cold, rain, snow, sunshine could all happen in a day. No experience necessary, just your creative loving hands. W... more inside
