Can you do gardening or DIY? Even better if you can tile a floor.

I am a strictly non smoking place both inside and out. Smokers including those who vape, will be asked to leave. I have had several helpers here who think it is not a problem to vape or smoke if they are in a different room or outside but I really find it makes me feel quite sick and the clothes of smokers also smell which then comes into the house.

Can you speak English, do you like animals and working outdoors?

I ask for about 5 hours a day and am in The South West of England a lovely area in the country close to Dartmoor National Park and also the Devon/Cornwall border. very scenic close to great walking country. 2 kilometres away there is a huge supermarket which sells everything from food to washing machines, it is open 24 hours.

Help is needed for ongoing gardening work and also looking after two cats and a dog.

The garden here is very large and it is open to the public to raise funds fo... more inside

Hi, we are looking for short term help (2 weeks) to help with various jobs around the home and garden. Our village is rural and is approx. 2 miles from the coast and beautiful Natural England reserves. Our nearest town is Louth (11 miles ) and we are 1.5 miles from wild Lincolnshire beaches. Our previous helpers reviews will give you some idea about who we are. We are experienced hosts, long time 'greens' and in exchange for your help we hopefully offer you a happy, comfortable stay here in Lincolnshire. Hope to hear from you soon.

We are fully booked until the middle of February. We are looking for volunteers to join us from the 15th February on wards.

We need help with our animals (several horses, many chickens and 2 playful friendly small dogs), the fields, the garden and in the house IN EXCHANGE for all food, accommodation, a lot of riding for someone experienced, a beautiful area and the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people. What makes it awesome?

In the Hertfordshire countryside just on the outskirts of London, Bhaktivedanta Manor, complete with its farmlands, beautiful gardens and temple is a real sanctuary for the soul. Open all year round to visitors and students of ancient wisdom, the temple offers a great experience with tours of the shrine, gardens and compassionate farm. Here are the rooms of the famous Hare Krishna guru Srila Prabhupada, to whom George Harrison gifted this iconic mock Tudor mansion. We have inspirational talks, yoga classes, mantra meditation, vegetarian cooking classes and various retreats.

A welcoming, vibrant and cheerful farm community set in the countryside just outside of London.
In additon to the main theological college, we have a farm of 100 acres with 60 cows and oxen, an 8 acre vegetable growing area, formal gardens, fruit orchards (modest size), hedges, small woodlands and bee hives. We grow naturally using cow manure fertilizer and we dont use pesticides or ... more inside

Hello! We live in a beautiful 400 year old ex-farmhouse in the heart of the idyllic Somerset countryside. We are looking for help with a variety of jobs from November 2019.
For example, our gorgeous garden needs putting to bed for the winter, there are painting / decorating and general maintenance jobs available and the dogs always enjoy a long walk! We would expect to discuss and agree with the helper prior to their starting what their likes and dislikes are so they can do the jobs that appeal more to them.
We keep Chickens and Runner Ducks, and also have two dogs and a cat, so help with the animals might also be needed!
There are walks to be had from the house and plenty of gorgeous villages to visit, many with cosy country pubs!
We live on the edge of a small village with a pub, but only 5 mins drive from the nearest town which has shops. We are about 25 mins from Glastonbury and 40 minutes from the Jurassic Coast.
You could live in our beautiful annexe with your ow... more inside

Berry Lane Cottage is a six acre smallholding with delightful formal and informal gardens. We have over 200 camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons, ponds, woodland walks, forest gardens, newly planted orchards, vegetable gardens, greenhouses etc.
We keep goats, occasionally pigs and chickens and hatch & raise our own replacements.
Accommodation is in the house with own bedroom and bathroom.
In September 2019 pete had an operation that went wrong resulting in him being wheelchair bound, but he can still teach a lot of skills.
We will be needing help with, lots of general gardening, woodland work, including logging and firewood, occasional dog walking if you like dogs, mucking out of goats and working with goats who are milked twice a day. We will need help doing some fencing and general other tasks which will vary! We have 30 years plus smallholding experience and can teach you a lot.
Note, we are a bit behind this year due to what has occurred.

"La Bella Figura” or “making the best of what you have” is a phrase that best defines our approach. We are custodians of a beautiful home and farm and take a sympathetic, sensitive, and slow approach to restoration and farming. We started the project 10 years ago by replanting old hedgerows and woods, restoring ancient orchards and constructing a lake for wildlife. At the same time we researched how to tackle the farmhouse and it’s outbuildings using original materials such as lime plasters, breathable paints and elm. Bit by bit all the pieces came together, the foundations for the farm, a self sufficient small holding stocked with rare breeds more suitable to extensive rather than intensive farming and growing fruit and vegetables. Each decision we make is linked in some way, for example, the planting of wild flowers, lime trees and replanting of the orchards were all done with our honey bees in mind.

We have found ourselves increasingly interested in this approach and enjoy the... more inside

Set in the beautiful countryside just on the Welsh border. Close to areas of special scientific interest, meres, mosses and canals. Also commutable to the Welsh coast for days off if required.
We farm in a mostly organic way, sheep, poultry, rescued horses.also rescued dogs. We would like help from people with abilities in construction, fencing or logging or those who wish to care for the animals. Please note that we do expect a fair exchange of hours for board. we are not able to run a hotel service for unwilling helpers as this is a charitable organisation and food and facilities are not free. Please note this is a non-smoking site due to insurance and safety.
Our gardens and hedgerows are left for the benefit of the many rare birds and insects. We have a large sett of badgers who can be seen by camping nearby.
Due to failing health we need help to continue our work. This is rural but not remote. There is limited bus service within one mile and trains three miles away.( The neare... more inside

Hi there Helpers,
We would like to invite 3 people into our home who genuinely love young kids and are looking for a true cultural exchange with a british american family. We need help caring for our two young boys and keeping the house clean and tidy. We would like you not just to come help us out but to truly become part of our family and want to BE with us, not on your phones all day or tucked away in your bedroom. We hope to build a relationship with you and stay in touch even after you leave.

We are an international couple from England and America (Mark and Amaris) and recently had 2 little boys :) in 2017 (Teodor "Teddy") and 2018 (Alexander "Alè"). We have traveled far and wide and have now chosen to settle down for a bit in a small village, south of Cambridge, UK. Mark works with computers and Amaris has a part time job but mostly works from home and cares for the boys. We have no pets at this time but hope next year to get a small dog.

Type of help needed:... more inside
