This is a homestay in the South of England; the house has 4 bedrooms and is surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden. I do receive a lot of requests from Helpxers and also from another similar volunteering website so I can not say yes to everyone but please do send me your travel dates and I will see if I have space.

My name`s Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014. There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we could be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, building fences, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare meals. Usually we would work as a team but it helps if you can self-motivate and work alone sometimes.

You have your own room and all meals, in return for just a few hours of work on five days a week; some free time each d... more inside

Renovating an old house in the old town of Scarborough. No serious work needed, mainly painting and decorating. I'm a CELTA qualified English teacher with lots of experience so can help with that if needed. Right by the sea, even some surf at times ;)

I've taken on volunteers for the past 6 years with a different business of mine in a different city, so I have plenty of experience, and I've also volunteered myself years ago, so I like to think I know how to treat people with respect. 5 hours a day, 5 days a week in return for food, Private bedroom, wifi should be here in 10 days, right in the centre of town so lots to see and do (relatively speaking, I mean, it's only a small town!)

Lots more references on my couchsurfing profile and also on my other helpx profile - happy to send the links just send me a message.

Ben and Larry live the good life - or at least we try to!

Our farm is our home, work and life and every aspect of our numerous activities go towards making a life, not just a living.

Ours is a working farm and we aim to use traditional methods alongside modern techniques. We endeavour to take the best of the past and combine it with the best of the future. Our objective being to create a low environmental impact and respect for our surroundings, we think of it as ‘Heritage In The Making’.

We grow the majority of our own food and try to eat in tune with the seasons with home produced feasts for celebrations but all meals are special for us and provide an opportunity for daily gatherings.

We have two kitchen gardens, a herb garden and a poly-tunnel as well as our new venture of a market garden plot. From this, we can enjoy on our own vegetable produce almost all year round. We forage and gather in the hedge rows and preserve the seasonal abundance for the leaner months ... more inside

** Help needed starting March 2020 **

Hi there, we are a family of two, Jeff & Phil (father & son), living in a large Victorian house in a Conservation Area in south London.

We will be cleaning & renovating the middle & upper floors of a 3-storey house with cellar. There is also a large rear garden and smaller garden at the front. Tasks include weeding, pruning, stacking logs, thinning plants in a wildlife pond, planting vegetables and general tidying up. In the house we will be packing & moving boxes and furniture, taking up carpets & vinyl, stripping wallpaper, and cleaning & preparing surfaces for painting & decorating. There will be trips in the car to the local Re-cycling Center.

On days off there will be optional trips out to traditional English seaside resorts and you can explore historic London on your doorstep (only 15 minutes away by train). I have some books on "Hidden London" showing illustrated walks in places like Docklands and Whitechapel. You will have your ... more inside

We are a busy, free-hold pub with brewery
and gin distillery in a small village beside the sea in North Devon. We serve real ales, home-made food, and run regular music nights, games night and discussion groups. We are busy with holiday-makers and residents alike, and the pub is an important part of the community here.

Depending on the length of stay and time of year, volunteers might find themselves working in the garden with general maintenance and tending to our raised beds and greenhouse or assisting in the kitchen- helping service run smoothly during lunchtime and evening sessions. Kitchen work is mainly helping keep things tidy during service, carrying food to tables, etc The nature and duration of the work varies depending on how busy we are. In the summer and at school holidays, the work will be in the kitchen. We also need some help cleaning the pub in the mornings before we open at 11am. ... more inside

AVAILABILITY FOR JULY OR AUGUST ONLY.

Non-smokers only. Please read our profile before making contact.

We are in a very rural location, with no near neighbours or towns. Bear in mind that you could find this boring! You must be able to entertain yourself (reading, music, DVDs, walking) when we are busy. Our nearest city is Exeter (40km). We live within reach of North or South Devon coasts, Exmoor or Dartmoor Parks by bus or train, or car. We may be able to lend a bicycle, but it is very hilly here!

We are looking for friendly, easy-going solo helpers, normally for a stay of 7 days/8 nights. We would like you to help for 4-5 hours per day (up to 25 hours per week) with 2 days free per week - gardening, cutting grass, clearing branches, spring-cleaning. In return, you will have:

- Small bedroom (4.5m2),or another larger single room - when available;
- All meals (veggie or meat-eaters)
- Variable mobile phone signal and internet; LIMITED DOWNLOAD, so bring your own data... more inside

Hello helpers

Welcome to our listing page.

We have a space to offer one or two people who can help with
• generally looking after our home, B&B and garden and possibly cook a few times a week if we have a similar approach to food
• or /and help with some simple carpentry, building work, painting, clearing etc..

We have space now, for a minimum of two weeks, but would prefer longer stays.

A bit about us: We are a family of 3 and 1 cat. We are living in a beautiful part of Devon, at the edge of fields and stunning views but very close to Totnes, one of the most alternative towns in the UK. We are involved in holistic work with families, from pregnancy onwards, running a small computer business and offering accommodation (mostly in the summer).

We have two types of exchange available:
• In exchange for 20 hours work a week we offer comfortable accommodation in a clean and warm 16ft caravan, breakfast and a nourishing meal (mostly organic) 5 days a week.
At weeken... more inside

Accommodation available for a kind person or couple with a calm and sympathetic nature, non-smoking driver with own transport essential.
Unfortunately my husband has passed away early this year, so I have my daughter and son in law living in a static caravan in the garden to help around the house when needed and to be on hand just in case I need help, it's a big place to be alone and I am not used to being on my own.
I am a reasonable healthy and fit 89!

They need some time away every now and then so the family want me to have someone on call and that could cook the odd meal for me and keep an eye on the house, garden and me!
Possibly take me shopping or to church.
Not much to do really, lots of time for yourself, good internet connection.
Accommodation in the caravan. Lengths of stay flexible and negotiable.
Well equipped, smart tv, radio. Two bedrooms, ensuite.

Hello!

Helpers (Couples only) needed from November 2020.

We live in a beautiful 400 year old ex-farmhouse in the heart of the idyllic Somerset countryside. We are looking for a couple to help with a variety of jobs.

We need help with walking the dogs, our gorgeous garden needs help with both simple and heavy jobs and there are painting / decorating and general maintenance jobs available. We would expect to discuss and agree with the helper prior to their starting what their likes and dislikes are so they can do the jobs that appeal more to them.
We keep Chickens and Runner Ducks, and also have two dogs and a cat, so help with the animals might also be needed!
There are walks to be had from the house and plenty of gorgeous villages to visit, many with cosy country pubs!
We live on the edge of a small village with a pub, but only 5 mins drive from the nearest town which has shops. We are about 25 mins from Glastonbury and 40 minutes from the Jurassic Coast.
