We are an environmental and human awareness project with a deep love and respect for the Natural world, that all life is to be respected and protected, we are located in the Forest of Dean, in Gloucestershire. We offer a space for people to connect with nature and learn more about it. We provide fantastic opportunities for volunteers to take their own initiative, be creative and learn more about community living and our impact on the environment, as well as taking personal introspective time to listen to our own inner landscapes.

We take volunteers for a minimum of 2 months and we priorities placements for people who are interested in a more long term stays. If you are interested in need of some quiet space and time in nature for reflection and you value time alone then EarthHeart would suit you well. Set in the beautiful countryside just on the Welsh border. Close to areas of special scientific interest, meres, mosses and canals.
We farm in a mostly organic way, sheep, poultry, rescued horses.also rescued dogs. We would like help from people with abilities in construction, fencing or logging or those who wish to care for the animals.
Our gardens and hedgerows are left for the benefit of the many rare birds and insects.
Due to failing health we need help to continue our work. This is rural but not remote. There is limited bus service within one mile and trains three miles away.( The nearest town) We do provide bicycles and help to travel where possible.
The work is outdoors and mainly physical, so willingness to muck in and muck out in ALL weathers is essential!.. Together with an empathy for what we do. We welcome help from anywhere but please only people who have read and understand the basic profile. This is a very busy place and we don't have time to spend days messaging ... more inside

Hello Helpxers,

I am looking for one person or preferably two people to be with me from 7th July (or earlier if you are happy to sleep in a tent!). I would like you to stay until the end of August. The main reason is that I run Airbnb from home and I will be moving around a bit so I would like to guarantee that someone will be here to get the room ready for the next guests. Depending on the length of peoples stay and whether Im here you will probably be able to travel a bit too.

I am also looking for some help in the house and garden. Im coming to the end of a building project and so someone who is handy would be great or someone who loves gardening. There is still some painting to do and some generally finishing off. I have a lovely garden with a pond and veggies also rather too many weeds in the beds which could do with some attention.

Norwich is a lovely relaxed town not far from the sea. Your working time can be flexible but to average around 5 hrs a day 6 days a w... more inside

No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

Taking helpers June- September 2019

We, Mike 70, John 81, Peter 63 and Porage (the cat) 12, have been here for five years. The house is an old English farmhouse with nice neighbours and buses to local towns, train direct to London. We go to the gym at least three times a week, and Mike and Peter like walking and running.
We need someone to illustrate and edit the books we're writing, and to help with their e-marketing also to help redesign the garden, cut the grass, prune trees, make a water feature, and dig. John is interested in interior decoration - stencilling and colour washing etc. Some of the gardening/construction is heavy work.

We are on the main line to London. The local gym has a good swimming pool. The walking scenery is excellent - Mike likes walking and running, and Peter goes swimming several times a week. We do not provide a computer for you to use, but we use WIFI all the time. The village library has computers for internet access free anyway.

**We are full until October**

We are a busy, free-hold pub with brewery and gin distillery in a small village beside the sea in North Devon. We serve real ales, home-made food, and run regular music nights, games night and discussion groups. We are busy with holiday-makers and residents alike, and the pub is an important part of the community here.

Depending on the length of stay and time of year, volunteers might find themselves working in the garden with general maintenance and tending to our raised beds and greenhouse or assisting in the kitchen- helping service run smoothly during lunchtime and evening sessions. Kitchen work is mainly helping keep things tidy during service, carrying food to tables, etc The nature and duration of the work varies depending on how busy we are. In the summer and at school holidays, the work will be in the kitchen. We also need some help cleaning the pub in the mornings before we open at 11am.

Generally we ask for 25 hours per week, and so... more inside
