We are a small family property with 5 acres, we have 2 dogs and 2 puppies, and a few chickens and geese. A poly tunnel for growing vegetables, fruit and nut trees too. We have mountain, sea and woodland views.

Living at the property is myself (Megan - 25), Mum (Lesley), Brother (James - 27) and Sister (Keeley - 22), other family often visit with young children too. This will be our first time hosting but I have traveled and used helpx a lot in Tasmania and found it to be a great experience.

In return for food and accommodation we would like 4-5 hours of work per day or 6 hours if you want a day or two off to explore the local area. We would prefer people to stay for minimum two weeks so that we can get to know you.

It is a very rural area, beautiful but with limited public transport. It is a great place if you like walking, cycling and the beach (15 minute drive away), we are close to Snowdon too. The nearest town (Porthmadog) is 6 miles away. We can make arrangements to... more inside

We live on a (small) smallholding in a rural location in North Wales, on the edge of Snowdonia. The setting is delightful and secluded, yet the nearest town is only 4 miles down the road, while the North Wales coast and mainline train station are 18 miles away. Walking, climbing & cycling opportunities, as well the many attractions of Snowdonia & the Coast are only a short drive away.

Our animals (dogs, cats, chickens, bees, rare-breed sheep, donkeys) rule the place and our lives, so this is for animal lovers only!
Our land is mainly pasture in two fields adjacent to the house, with a large garden with orchard & veg beds.

We are currently have availability to host from early May to to end of July, potentially into August.

We are are quite new to smallholding life so we are specifically looking for people who already have relevant skills to share, as we have a lot to learn. Work can be arranged flexibly around a mutually agreed schedule. You should be able and confident t... more inside

We are looking for a couple who have an engineering or mechanical background and who would enjoy some light gardening work. We have a well stocked garden tool shed and about every tool you would need.

Besides the garden I do have a well equipped engineering workshop capable of handling metal working and wood working. I have, in hand, a 200 year old pitch pine Welsh dresser that is half restored and needs some tender love and care all the rubbing down has been completed! Also I restore WWII workshop machinery and would love some help to finish a universal milling machine. Also on the waiting list is a 3.0 metre vertical drilling machine

We now seem to be in better health but we do need some assistance in maintaining the garden and outbuildings. We would prefer to take on a male/female couple who would enjoy our company as well as their own!

We live in a very beautiful part of the Dee Valley within sight of the Snowdonia mountains.

We can accommodate in a separate win... more inside

We are a small creative community and upland sheep holding, producing most of our own veg, dairy and meat. We have lots of inspiring projects on the go and work is extremely varied. Here you can learn about all aspects of sustainable living. We are also archaeologists, building a stone age working settlement. We are looking for people with carpentry and green woodworking skills especially in 2018 to help on this project. We are offering internships for people wanting longer term placements with greater depth of learning and research in a range of subjects from countryside management to experimental archaeology.

Individual or couple needed to help us turn recently acquired 2 acre smallholding into paradise. A mixture of building and gardening skills would be good, ideally in permaculture. Caravan accomodation with a woodburning stove, electric, wifi, compost loo. Stunning setting. Many barns full of swallows, some raised beds and fruit bushes and a large orchard. 5 healthy beehives, 17 bantam chickens.
Offering susbsistence living allowance or more to the right person/people plus option of paid work and experience with qualified renewable heating installer. As we have a large family of 5 kids and two of the kids are 5 and 9, we would be open to offering some money in exchange for a few hours of childcare here and there.
7 miles for the Centre for Alternative Technology near the lovely market town of Machynlleth.
Any length of stay considered.
We speak Spanish, Danish, French, German, Polish and some other bits and bobs..

Coastal smallholding 1 mile from the sea, with beautiful views and easy access to West Wales coastal routes. Now in its 8th year of development, featuring market garden, pasture and woodland.

We work with our livestock to manage and improve the land, as well as providing food for table.
A small market garden is being re-established and sadly our polytunnel fell victim to the high winds so will be replaced eventually...with a solar passive version. We have a neglected eating/cider orchard which is in process of being brought back into full production.
Home is a bungalow that requires modernisation and we have an ongoing strawbale timber roundhouse project- which is habitable with a small coal/wood stove, it does have power and cooking faclities but only cold water. Composting toilet outside. Showering facilities etc via main house. We have a touring caravan for accommodation as well as a winterised bell tent in addition to main house/roundhouse.

We share our lives and home... more inside

We are a hill farm in a beautiful part of North East Wales. We are looking for an extra pair of hands to help with some housework and gardening. We like our helpers to feel at home and get a good balance of helping in the house , garden and the farm, which could also depend on the helper's interest.
We also like our helpers to get enough time to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of the country. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested or have any questions...

1st May 2018 At the moment we are mainly looking for help with general house maintenance including painting, we have 3 sheds that need reroofing and acouple of fences to repair.
Welcome to our bit of madness!!! "Madness?" you ask. Well, we are trying to establish a forest garden on 2.5 ish acres of North facing, tree shaded land.
Forest gardens are difficult in a temperate climate anyway, we just enjoy a challenge! All that said we live in a beautiful home and a magical setting, no visible neighbours, the only houses we see are across the water on Anglesey. We are in the foothills of Snowdonia and have great walks starting from the house, Aber Falls being an hours walk over the hill.
This year we are doing a bit of building work, starting with a TreeBog!(Started) Maybe a decking to erect a 10 foot yurt on (One of those jobs I've thought about for 2 years and should crack on with.
The Helpers accommodation is a rather nice hut at the bottom of the garden with a double sleeping... more inside

We are a organic farm in South Wales. With cattle, sheep & pigs, we have a small butchery where where we sell our meat to our local community. Over the last couple of years we have set up a market garden, providing veg boxes to our local community. We are looking for volunteers to help with the Veg operation, weeding, planting, those types of tasks. We have a small patch with 2 poly tunnels with a range of vegetables. Our box scheme aims to supply families with local veg for 5 to 6 months of the year.

You will need to bring some outdoor / waterproof clothes and boots for working outside.
