The farm is located by the foot of Oslos highest plateau mountain Norefjell, by the lake Krøderfjorden. (1,5 hour drive from Oslo). We have free range Happy Pigs outdoors that have helped us prepare an area for new growing where we need help. The farm is powered by our own bioenergy plant. We have chickens, horses, dogs and cats.
We would love help from wwoof’ers that have agriculture experiences. One huge advantage would be knowledge of carpentry for some small projects. Some experience with machinery and fencing is welcomed. We have various big and small projects, and prefer wwooffers who will stay for a period of time.
Our farms webpage is only in Norwegian, at nedreskinnes.no , but we run a English blog, you can check out farmgirlofnorway.com/about to learn more about us and our philosophy.
We look forward to hear from you

Do you want to help us start up our farm? We are a young couple Dan Halvard (34, from Norway) and Hanna (25, from England) and we need help with a wide range of things.
We live on our old farm in south Gudbrandsdalen, in the east of Norway, on a steep hillside with a wonderful view of the valley, all the way down to Lillehammer.
Our goal is to be self-sufficient, and for us that means producing as much of our own food and basic needs as possible, living simply, and working hard. We have chosen to run the farm without modern machinery like tractors, because we prefer peace and quiet, and contact with the land. We are both motivated by the urgency of finding sustainable ways of living on this planet, and living a healthy and fulfilling life. For us, this involves exploring the ways in which people used to live self-sufficiently and close to the land.

Dan Halvard is very interested in the pre-industrial Norwegian farming culture, and so wants to do as much farm work in th... more inside

This is a small property on the countryside outside of Steinkjer in the middle of Nowhere, I mean Norway. Next to a big forest, and walking distance to the lake. We have one big house made of concrete, and an old logg house that is disconnected from the electric grid. The big house is under construction, but the floor I live on is finished.

There is wireless internet and Netflix here, but I do want to get to know you before you leave.

We have a small vegetable garden, and the work to be done here is generaly to do with that, or stuff around the house. Maybe some car maintenance at times. In the late summer the work could include berry picking and mushrom picking in the forest. If you know how to build, there are some rooms that are not finished.

To stay here you dont have to work hard, and if you are skilled at what you do, you can work less hours. Same if you provide food, or sleep in a tent.

We have bikes, and there are some realy nice routs for bik... more inside

We are a permaculture inspired family of six - Ragnhild (39 yrs), Tore (42 yrs), Reidar (14), Tine (13), Mina (11) and Kasper (7). Our kids go to waldorf school. We are renovating our house and it would be very nice getting some help with doing that. Tore is educated a landscape-architect but also works as a carpenter (he build the red chicken house that you can see on the pictures + does everything that needs to be done on the house). We live close to Tønsberg, a town 100 km south of Oslo, by the coast - a very popular area for tourists during summer.
We have experience of hosting volunteers (wooffers) for a few years, and have really appreciate that. We keep chickens and ducks, and try to grow as much vegetables that we can. We have lived at this place for seven years now, and a lots of things has been build and established during those years, the place looks quite different than when we first came here. We enjoy music, and everybody in the house plays an instrument (some more ea... more inside

Small farm without any farming since the land is rented out, but the forest is maintained by me. Also have a vegetable garden and berry bushes and lots of machines like tractors, ATV, snowmobile etc.
I have 2 sons that are visiting regularly.

Work can be gardening, carpentry, painting houses, general house work or forest work. Also might need mechanical help with machines. Have a boy at 6 years age, so maybe need help watching him some times.

The farm is close to the small town of Namsos, and close to the forest, mountains with lakes and the salmon river Namsen. http://visitnamdal.no/

We also have two cabins that sometimes need some maintenance work. One is located on the mountain in Lierne and one on a small island in the Namsenfjord.

Our local small airport is Namsos (osy), regional (some international) is Trondheim 160 km away (trd) and main international is Oslo 700km away (osl).
You can also get here by train from Oslo or Trondheim to Steinkjer and then bus fro... more inside

WE ARE FULLY BOOKED WITH VOLUNTEERS FOR THE SUMMER OF 2018.

Volunteers coming here need to be interested in a self sustainable life at the edge of the ordinary comfort zone. I'm CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR RESPONSIBLE PERSONS WHO ARE STRONG & HANDY, PREFERABLY WITH EXPERIENCE IN SOME SPECIFIC TASKS LIKE SANDING, PAINTING, CONCRETING, PLUMBING, CARPENTRY AND ELECTRICITY in order to help restoring the 100 year old lighthouse tower.

My sleddogs are my lifestyle and my family :D
The location of this property is perfect for us, due to the majestic surroundings and the proximity not only to the main Norwegian airport, but also to other main towns around.

I just rented an off the grid farm and I need help with the daily chores.
i dream on having a garden (Im awful with plants or a permaculture project). But we are still getting there :)

I believe this is the perfect experience for someone who would be interested about:
-Spend some time off the grid
-A place to stay while travelling through Norway/ Scandinavia
-To learn new skills or to practice old skills
-International exchange
-Our lifestyle
-And of course and most important of all about HUSKIES!! : D
The kind of accomodation you will get is a room for yourself or shared if you are a couple/ couple of friends.

Some tasks might last few hours, some tasks might last weeks. Being with dogs/ learning about our lifestyle, does not mean to cuddle do... more inside

We live on an organic mountain farm in the Hardanger area, one and a half hour east from Bergen. In the summer, we grow vegetables and berries (strawberries, raspberries, red and black currants) and in the winter we work mostly with forestry as we sell birch firewood. We also have about 50 wild sheep which we feed in the winter with the hay we harvest in summer and 90 hens for egg production.
Summer work is mostly harvesting hay and all kind of work with the crops (planting, weeding, harvesting).
There is work all year long when it comes to mechanic or carpentry, so if you ave such skills you may be welcome anytime. However when it comes to work in the field we only welcome people from may/june to september.
We usually prefer to welcome 1 person at a time, but we can eventually welcome 2 at special occasions. We expect 5 hours of work a day for food and accommodation. Helpers get their own room and access to free internet. We share a cooked meal every evening, we provide food for... more inside
