As we are renovating and putting a fresh look on the inside and the outside of our home, we are looking for help.

We also love travelling and meeting new people, therefore this match sounds perfect to us!

If you have some creative thoughts on permaculture, gardening, renewing a pound area, putting some forest froot in the little wood, etc. we would love to learn it from you.

We are concerned by circular economy, sustainability and making our homemade products (work in progress):).

The needed help is mainly for the outside but there is also some work inside.

We have lived for 40 years in a beautiful house in the countryside of Brabant Wallon. Our names are Véronique and Jean-Marc and we run a bnb. We are very sensitive to ecology and voluntary simplicity. We speak several languages: French, English, German, Dutch, Italian and Spanish. In the garden Véronique is the one working in the garden taking care of the permaculture project and of practical works. In the house there is always something to do for the maintenance. Jean-Marc deals mainly with our guests. If you are a manual person, if you like gardening, if you are interested in building a hive, painting, you will enjoy your stay.
We offer a comfortable room, healthy food in exchange for 4 hours of work per day. Since Véronique is a sculptor, we can offer a space for painting or carving if you would like to be creative.

This is a low-impact building project.
We are building a natural house in the Belgian forests where we wish to promote low-impact living.

We are looking for motivated volunteers during July and August to help us finish our beautiful house and be part of the Hamadryad project.

If you like the peacefullness of the forest and love to get your hands dirty actually doing something to make the world a better place, than you're at the right spot !!

From mid july to mid august in particular we are looking for volunteers who are willing to help with debarking and sanding branches to transform them into a beautiful natural balluster!

During the past 6 years we have had volunteers from all over the world, all having a good experience at Hamadryad, some even came back to help some more!

We are very open-minded people, love to spread our knowledge and experience of low-impact building and always good for a chat and a laugh!

Urgently needed : carpenter, builder

Hi,
My name is Christèle. I live in Oostende, half a mile from the beach, in a house with a garden, together with my cat Mouse.
In 2015, I did 3 months of volunteering work in the ecovillage of Lammas in Wales UK.

Art is important for me. People too. Grounded spiritual awareness too. I like the wisdom of Eckhart Tolle.

I am looking for people who want to help me continuing the renovation of my house, there are so many things that has to be done if you transform a house. Too much for a woman alone ( my cat gets free meals and free accomodation every day and she still refuses to help me, not even an hour). All the materials used are ecological.
I am transforming the upstairs of my house into a space to make artistic creations. Downstairs will be the living area.

I urgently need a carpenter.
Also welcome are people with renovating skills.

Shops are nearby, so are transportfacilities.
Brugge is 15 miles away, Gent 45 miles.

Hi, my name is Evelien and I've been living in the wonderful city of Ghent for more than 10 years now. There's no way I'm moving anywhere else!

I have a small boat (suitable for sleeping) that's located in the city centre. I love hosting people on there if they're willing to get some work done on it :-)

Since I myself don't have much experience with boatwork, I'm really looking for people that know what to do. So experience in boats themself, woodwork, metalwork or electricity is required.

Some things I can use your help with:
- Sanding down rusty spots and treating them
- General spring-cleaning to get her ready for summer
- Taking out the windows and fixing them up
- Some painting, varnishing and fixing up of the woodwork
- Insulating the engine compartment
- etc.
Plenty of jobs to choose from :-)

Ideally you can stay for a couple days so you can actually finish the job you started. I will provide you with accommodation on the boat & food if you want it. In r... more inside

Max of 2 hours work on daily basic...
I'm a chill going guy with respect for you as long you have respect for me and the house ;-)
Main reason for me that i love to meet new people from all over the world ;-)
Was backpacking before so it stays in the blood you now ;-)
Cheers

We are ecologically renovating an old house with straw-bales and clay. We are looking for straw bale / clay building enthusiasts, who like to make their hands dirty.

Hosting gives us the possibility to travel while staying at home. We enjoy making vegetarian dishes, but occasionally we eat meat. Joris is a professional wood fired clay stove builder. An recently started as a full time ceramist, making hand crafted pottery.

As our straw bale building is getting more and more to a finish the type of help that we require gets more and more refined. We need helpers who are handy with woodwork. One of the next projects is making the wooden doors and a kitchen from scratch. A carpenter apprentice would be perfect!!;) But if you know that you are handy you are very welcome to come and learn.
You can find some pictures of the building site via our first website link above.
We live in another house (co-housing with my nice parents) where there are two extra rooms for our host.
