We are an enlarged family, an association supporting people with special needs to integrate step by step into community life. We have several buildings (residential, workshops and sheds), vegetable gardens and parkland - all needing help for care and upkeep.
We have had good experience since many years with serious and open-hearted volunteers who have come for a week or two up to a year or more to share our life and tasks. We look for volunteers who can help us with the organic gardens and food production, and with doing up the buildings (incl. furniture) and their surroundings. If you have musical, artistic or craft skills, there are many people here waiting to join you in activities.
We can offer food and lodging as well as enjoyment of a pleasant surrounding you can explore by foot, bike, bus or car.
We have a policy of no drugs and no boozing. If you want to invite guests in, we request you to inform us first.
Our common language is Romanian. Some of us speak English and Fr... more inside

Our property is nestled in the picturesque Tohani hills, surrounded by vineyards and ancient almond orchards. We had the desire for many years to live more close to the land and be self sufficient, but this year we made courage and we have moved from Wales together with our kids and dogs to Romania to have a fresh start.
We want our buildings to be environmentally friendly as much as we can.
With very little building experience we have started. We will like people to come and learn and even more so to teach us or to learn together with us how to live and build more responsibly.
We will need help with picking berries and fruits to make jams and preserves for the winter, foraging.
Building our 6 hobbit homes from wood and cob.
Digging the ground.
We will provide food and wine you just bring the tent over.
Access to modern toilets and showers plus a compost toilet . Access to electricity and Internet(wi fi).

I'm offering staying in an old wood country house, only June to August. Location is in a remote area in the hills of Hunedoara county, at 700 meters altitude, at 55km road from Hunedoara city and 80km from Deva fortress. I can take the guests from Hunedoara city with my car.

The location is in a very remote place, the nearest village is beginning at 4 km and except two close neighbours there is not other houses around. That means is mostly a quiet place, with a beautiful view of nature, without noise except sometimes some agricultural activities of my nearby neighbour.

My accomodation is a 4 by 4 meters room, there are rubber mattreses and bedsheets for maximum four people, which typically will not be filled completely; but if needed, my two neighbours may provide one more room in another house, as well. There is some storage area in an open shelf on the wall (8 square meters of shelves on the wall will be shared to the guests), there is a kitchen in the house, a small fridge ... more inside

We are a young family of 4 (dog included, see picture) who are rebuilding some old traditional mountain cottages. Our small farm is situated in the West part of Romania, in a quiet, cut-off area of the Apuseni Mountains.
The nearest shop is 7km away and the nearest town including a bus station is 10 km away. The town is called Campeni.
We can pick you up there. The nearest airport is aprox. 100km away, in a city called Cluj-Napoca. From there you'll find buses travelling to Campeni daily 2 times a day.

Ideally we would love to be able to live there full time, as soon as the houses are ready. We also have a small organic garden, a barn who needs rebuilding and many more work to be done.
For now, we can offer a tent for sleeping or when our neighbor has enough space, helpers can sleep at his place. If helpers are staying in a tent, they should know that we don't have running water yet, nor in-house WC. Our toilet is an old-fashioned, wooden country WC.
We have an outdoor show... more inside

I am creating a health research and healing retreat center for people to live an ancestral way of life to a certain degree. The main points are: having a natural circadian rhythm (waking-up with sunrise, going to sleep when it gets dark), not using electric light, not carrying around mobile phones on constant basis (in order to be more calm and focused by being disconnected on purpose), eating only high nutrient density foods without most industrially processed ingredients, keeping the food and environmental toxin load as low as possible, also by not using toxic building materials in the house (synthetic materials, paints, foams, glues, formaldehyde in wood, volatile organic compounds in mattress, bedding, clothing).

At the moment this project is ONLY for people who are ready for harsh conditions, think military survival and establishing a base camp in the middle of nowhere in a mountain forest where you start from almost nothing, in winter! This can be a great adventure but be... more inside

LATEST UPDATE: winter break. we will be hosting volunteers again starting mid February 2018.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
We live in a (still) traditional village surounded by hills and forests where time goes in a different pace. We are a group of ex-city dwellers that moved to the village, living in individual households. We have an experimental life style mixing simplicity with permaculture and technology, weaving a social web of people interested in alternative living.
Our house is open for helpers that enjoy simple & social living.

We prefer volunteers staying for at least a week.

The typical tasks we need help with - gardening (may to september), small renovation work (plastering with lime and sand, small buildings and repairs), cooking, hosting visitors from the city (small events with up to 30 people), organising activities with kids in the village.

The living conditions
- for the cold season we have a room with four beds for helpers and other visitors;
- co... more inside

LOOKING FOR A COUPLE or a SINGLE PERSON to housekeep for a minimum of 2 weeks stay!

We have an individual household in a traditional but not-so-typical romanian village, with a quite established permaculture garden -not much is planted this year though- and a small plum orchard that turned into a wild and very diverse food forest.

We have a (wild-ish) cat that misses human touch.

I lived in Stanciova for 6 years but at the beginning of the year I moved in Timisoara and Lugoj (the closest larger cities nearby) with my partner and 2 year old child. Some days I come to Stanciova because my workshop is there and it still needs some details taken care of. In the workshop i make soap and other care products + have my printing supplies for my designer work.

The help required is easy: watering the garden, weeding, keeping vegetation in check, feeding the cat. Basically maintenence work. The toilet is a compost toilet and needs to be emptied when neccesary. Basically maximum ... more inside
