TreeEater Farm is a small mixed permaculturally-oriented homestead farm situated on 40 acres. Our current activities consist of managing a large and successful edibles nursery business, finishing construction of the main farmhouse, occasional farm-to-table catering, growing a large assortment of perennial and annual vegetables and storage crops, maintaining a mixed orchard (of over 160 varieties of fruits/nuts/berries) and its chicken and goose associates, on-site saw-milling and building farm infrastructure, tending our herd of Kunekune Pigs, plus food preserving, meat processing, and many other homestead skills and projects.

We enjoy have folks coming though our farm to participate in our many projects and can offer nice accommodation, delicious healthful farm food, good company, and a wide variety of learning opportunities.

We are an artisan couple who are looking for help in our sewing studio and wood workshop as well as with various projects that come up (for example in the past we have had help repairing and replacing our decks, weeding and tidying the garden and property, replacing a ceiling, a small construction project, doing inventory, loading and unloading for market and more). You do not need any particular experience but you need to have an eye for detail and be willing to learn. We make wooden toys and household goods as well as hand sewn hats and hand woven scarves that we sell at market from April to October and at hand-made fairs in November and December. Our usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm with an hour for lunch.

We are a vegetarian household and all meals and snacks are included. You prepare your own breakfast and lunch and we usually eat dinner together. We expect you to clean up after yourself and keep your sleeping area tidy and help out with housecleaning on... more inside

join me here, surrounded by 400 acres of old growth forested park land (the bottom end of denman). Miles of remote beaches, where you will see whales, sea lions eagles and all the clams and oysters you can eat.
This house was built in Victoria in 1950 and moved to its present location in 1992 by myself and some fine friends. It is the primary residence on the property but still needs the love and attention of skilled and semi skilled artisans in the fields of carpentry, finishing, and hundreds(thousands?) of small details... We have recently added one llama, two sheep, three pigs and ten muscovy ducks to the family, we are now constructing fences and a barn for future livestock. Now have a sweet little caravan for exploring Vancouver island.Lots of bicycles, and great trails! Hoping to find travelers who would be interested in helping to renovate, and make comfortable a 1947 aluminum bus and a 1964 barth aluminum trailer for more private accommodation.

Our family owns and operates a small high-density certified organic apple orchard, focusing on heritage and connoisseur apple varieties. We also run a small cidery on the property, bake and sell apple treats at market, host orchard tours and provide on-site apple and tree sales in season.

To date, farm volunteers (WWOOFers) have been a big part of our orchard development, as we need help with many orchard tasks on a year-round basis.

Brian and Peri both also do other work to make the whole effort feasible. Peri is a teacher; Brian is a writer and consultant.

All volunteers sleep in our spacious (20 by 16 foot) wall tent, which sits on a wood floor and is set up much like an apartment, with beds and furniture, plus a cozy wood stove. There is an outhouse right beside the tent and volunteers have use of dedicated bathroom and shower facilities nearby. Full access to kitchen facilities in our house, is just a short walk away.

Our dynamic household -- and our popularity w... more inside

A waterfront bnb on Salt Spring is seeking a kind and cheerful FRENCH speaking helper for garden chores, light cooking as related to bnb breakfasts and light cleaning. We will work together. Also for daily teaching /practising French with us..
approx 7AM to noon each day.... but as much French interaction as possible with young people here. Possibly some more formal conversational lessons set up. The rest of the time is yours to enjoy the property and the island.
I have no timeframe as I am always keeping my eyes and ears open for good connections and kind people.
We are vegetarian but do eat cheese eggs and fish. Lots of produce from the garden! Room and board provided.Sometimes the room may change depending on b and b bookings. Flexibility is great!

Perfect summer retreat! (Couples welcome)

This is the ideal situation for someone who wants time and space for meditation, quiet reflection, walks in nature, working on your writing or artwork, and such.

Denman Island is a wonderfully quiet, sunny, nature-drenched place to spend a summer! (http://www.denmanisland.com has tons of info about the island.)

From our beautiful 16+ acre maple, cedar, and fir tree forest, you can hike the trails all the way to the park at the southern tip of the Island to look out over the lighthouse islet, see eagles nesting below you, and watch for seals and sea lions swimming. Or canoe on our adjacent wildlife marsh. If you prefer being at the ocean, quiet ocean beaches are about a half-hour walk away, down country lanes.

Here you can enjoy plenty of tranquil beauty and fresh, healing air! If you like trees, birds and wildlife, or relaxing at a beach you'd have pretty much all to yourself, you will love it here.

You will have y... more inside

We are a remote, off-grid eco-lodge nestled in a protected bay on an otherwise uninhabited island. Depending on the season and the guest, we offer cold water scuba diving (some of the best cold water diving in the world!), hiking, kayaking, yoga, and rewilding, among other nature-based and mindful activities.

We want to share access to the amazing, rugged natural surroundings, and strive to lower our ecological footprint, and be as self-sustainable as possible. Extra supplies that we do need we gather from Port Hardy, small northern Vancouver Island town, 30 mins from Hurst Island.

We have a full equipped kitchen, and each of our rooms have an en-suite shower and toilet. Our rooms are heated, and we are able to make our own potable water - even in the dry season.

We would love help with maintaining the resort, and building in new systems that can make us more sustainable (eg. a greenhouse!).

I am a single guy running a BnB on Saturna Island and would love some help with the day to day duties.

Come stay and help here in the Gulf Islands of BC. The BnB is situated on a working farm that spans from a private beach up to cliffs overlooking the sea. The house itself, built in 1892, is the oldest residential building on the island. You will have a private bedroom in the house or camping is available if you'd prefer to sleep out in nature.

Saturna Island is a beautiful, natural playground. With half the island belonging to National Parks, there is plenty of undeveloped areas ripe for exploration. Kayaks and bicycles can carry you just about wherever you need to go here.

Help needed with gardening, making up rooms after guests have checked out, and general house maintenance projects. If you like to cook there is also the option of cooking breakfast for guests or baking breads/treats. Woodworking skills would be useful as well as there are many restoration projects that... more inside
