We have a 5 room Bed and Breakfast in the small City of Hudson NY, just 2 hours N of NYC and are accessible by Train so we have a lot of tourists coming from NYC to experience nature and a quieter way of life that still has all of the great restaurants and shops.
We make a very special breakfast and will teach you our recipes so that you can prepare the breakfast for our guests.
We are both pescatarians and eat super healthy mostly organic food. Most nights we prepare an excellent dinner that we would all share. You are welcome to cook and prepare your own meals for breakfast and lunch, there is always lots of food in the refrigerator and cupboards.
Besides the B&B Beth is an ice skater and David a former dancer, together we are working on films and live performances using ice skating as an art form.

As a workwayer you will become part of our family and you will be invited to join us when we go shopping, for a swimming in a nearby lake, ice skating, to see a dance performan... more inside

We are the best of friends who live together and run a 24-hour café in Oneonta, New York. We built our rustic Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment — a haven from the storms of life.

Our community is part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run cafes, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to live and work with us.

We all work together in our houses and at our café. There is a lot to do in maintaining a community. We have two large houses and a café that need constant care and attention. We enjoy having guests and volunteers who want to get to know us by living and working with us.

We gather together every morning (at 7am) and evening (at 6pm) to express whatever is on our hearts, to sing and dance, and to give thanks to our Creator before sitting down at the table to share our meals to... more inside

Join us in building a creative space.

We are a European couple who just moved into a beautiful Victorian house at the calm outskirts of the city. We are currently restoring it and want to open it up in the future to guests with a music background and other creative people. Bart has a background in tourism and hospitality, Eva in humanitarian affairs. Traveling and the finer things in life are central for us, which is something we want to implement in the conversion of this house. As a long term goal, this home will be at the center of a charity for children which Bart registered not too long ago.

To accomplish this, we are looking for people with a similar philosophy who want to give back, be part of a cool restauration project and take pride in their work ethics. As this is a cultural experience we are also looking forward to tasting your cuisine as we shall introduce ours to you. PS: You have to love cats.

I am a retired U.S. diplomat with extensive overseas experience, including two years in Iraq. I am continuing to work at the Department of State part-time during the week. I am also the sole proprietor of a Bernese Mountain Dog operation, raising and training these companion animals. This is a large Swiss breed of the Working Dog Group that has many wonderful traits. I have three dogs, Nora, 9 1/2 years (acquired July '15), a boy, Mirko, nearly seven years old, from Belgium, and a young girl, Bindi 21 months. My dogs normally participate in a variety of performance activities including agility, drafting, herding and obedience and I would expect my HelpXer to assist in those efforts on occasion.

I plan on breeding Bindi in the near future and will absolutely need another pair of hands to help with her care if/when she has puppies. General kennel and household/yard chore duties are also expected. My preferred length of stay would be at least two weeks to a month or longer. I cu... more inside

**** Please note that we are don't have any availability between now and mid May 2020 ******

We have an old farmhouse about 1.5 hours from Philadelphia, in the southeast corner of Pennsylvania - please note that map just shows our general location. Our minimum stay is usually a week, however we do occasionally welcome helpers for a day or a weekend for the sort of projects where many hands make light work. And people who have helpxed with us before are always welcome to return - there is always a place for you to stay if you are passing through our area and if you want to stay longer that's great too. We do occasionally host helpers with canine companions, however we do have a cat, so this only works with cat-friendly dogs. We do expect doggie helpers to be on groundhog and deer patrol!

Jeff has a background in land preservation, and in his spare time is a photographer, plays guitar, volunteers for a new farmer development program and for our local environmental advisory counc... more inside

My husband and I bought a 130 year old house, and there`s a lot to be done.

Here are some projects we could use a helper or two (if you can share a Queen sized bed) for:

Currently: We have holes in some ceilings downstairs from when squirrels chewed through some pipes (was not fun).
After That: We would love to pull up the carpets and see what can be done about the hardwood floors underneath. If you have skills in this area too, please stay longer to head up this project!

We offer a private bedroom with a queen size bed, linens, a private bathroom, drawer space, a TV, and kitchen access in exchange for 6 hours of work a day (M-F). You`ll be working on your own for the most part, as Keith and I both have full time jobs, so you must be self-sufficient. We will provide the tools and materials you`ll need to get the job done!

If you have the skills to help us with the aforementioned items, shoot us an email! :)
