HELP NEEDED IN 2019

Hello! My name is Pushpendra and I am running a boutique Inn in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was established by my late father Retd. Wing Commander R. N. Bhargava in 1975 and has been hosting holiday makers of all ages.

There are many projects to be done here so you have the choice to do what you are most happy with!

1) Social Networking and Web Development
*Requires your own equipment (laptop, camera)*

I am looking for someone to help developing our internet presence. If you're good with web marketing, your work would consist of developing new content (writing and updating texts, taking photos, making videos, creating animations, updating graphics, programming new features, etc). We need to maintain and update our current site, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages and also find new venues for increasing our online sales and ways of interacting with social media followers. The aim is to increase the number of guests and travellers in the Jaipur Inn.

My husband & I own a small coffee estate in Coorg, a beautiful hill station in the western ghats about 270 kms from Bangalore. February/March is the coffee picking season and we are facing a severe worker shortage during that time. If Coffee is not picked on time the cherries just drop and most of the crop gets wasted away. We have returned from the US a few years back and bought the coffee estate because we like the weather & ambience of Coorg. Any help with the coffee picking would be appreciated. We are willing to put anyone up and provide food. Coffee picking does not require any special skill, just patience. It is actually fun, I have on several occasions participated in the picking myself. Any volunteers????
Volunteers will need to fly into the Southern city of Bangalore in South India on their own.
All,I need two more volunteers starting end of Jan 2017 until Feb end. I promise that it is going to be an exceptional experience working on the coffee estate. Please respond as... more inside

We as a family of 8 people altogether are working to set up a project near Shillong, which is both a help to the village nearby as well as to sustain our family through the income from guests who come to kayak in this state. We live by a river which is 10 Kms away from the nearest town and it's a beautiful hilly, jungle kind of life but no wild animals. We have been helping some of the local village boys who are extremely poor some never been to school, to learn kayaking. Two of them are now raft guides in North India. 5 are now training here daily

We have built 3 A frame cabins for guests who come to kayak in this northeast state of India Have built a house for our family and building a good size kitchen. We need help of a carpenter and electrician who have experience building with wood and steel. Also if someone has any knowledge of setting up a mini hydropower project will be help. We are in a beautiful hill range called Kalvarayan hills about 800m above sea level - in Salem district of Tamilnadu. Climate is moderate thoughout the year: max summer temperature is 35 C ; lowest temperature in winter is 9 C.
We grow most of our food in our farm. Some we buy from other organic outlets.
We have a few cows. We collect their dung and urine to use them as bio-fertilisers.
We are learning to become self-reliant on the food we consume. We do organic farming growing millets, fruit trees, timber trees, vegetables. . . We have a small solar power plant to take care of the lighting and other energy needs of a household. We use a dry compost latrine to recycle our waste. We have built a house with stabilised mud blocks. A lot more is happening, visit us to share. . .

While we offer a good private room for accomodation free of cost, food will be charged at the rate of Indian rupee 200 per person per day. We expect the helpers to work for about five hours a day. He... more inside

We have about 11 acres of mango grooves, 8 years old now in 2019, giving good seasonal harvest of good quality and taste 'kesar' mangoes since last 3 years. We have other farmlands of about 40 acres scattered into 4 blocks around our village farmlands, which is used for cultivating seasonal vegetables, fruits, cotton and pulses.

As a future development, We are planning a small-scale dairy farm and a small scale horse farm with about 8-9 horses for which we have started-off by getting a young male horse, an 8 months old foal.

Our farm facilities include borewells, tractors, 4 cottages and additional shade functioning as sleeping areas, adequate toilets and sanitation facilities, which are raw and not of high comfort levels currently, and need some maintenance and upgradation.

Time and again we keep improving and maintaining the facilities, but we still need to upgrade these facilities further for a comfortable stay for helpers during volunteering at the farm. Currently we... more inside

I am sure that my area of work will certainly interest you, let me give you a brief account of my artistic pursuits and current projects. Born in Rajasthan,India. it was inevitable for me to not be influenced by the cultural and folk traditions which have placed the state on a very high pedestal in the cultural annals. The pursuit to know art and culture better took me to the National School of Drama, the renowned drama school of Asia. But folk art and culture remained very close to my heart and after completing my post-graduation, I did several fellowships on folk art and culture of Rajasthan. But as they say the home is where heart is, I after wondering like a cultural gypsy, I returned to my roots. Presently, I am based in Jaipur and working as cultural anthropologist/ folk theater educator and an independent documentary film-maker. I am working on several projects. My endeavor is not only to create public awareness but also educate the rural audience about different cultural is... more inside
